An FOTD and Something We're Excited to Try Out

I'm staying away from applying bronzers on my face. I used to use it all the time so it would make my face look thinner. But recently i find my face looking glowing without it. So here's an FOTD and I will let you decide. :P

Me with my messy room at the background. Going to the mall to shop for a friend's birthday gift.

MAKEUP USED:

San San Soleil Liquid Matte Foundation
Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Foundation in OC10
E.L.F. Studio Eyebrow Kit
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Black
Wet n Wild Coloricon Eyeliner in White
Maybelline Volumizing Cat Eyes Mascara
James Cooper Matte Blusher in Jazzy
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo

And on another note, A package just arrived a couple of days ago and we are so excited to try these products out.

We've been hearing a lot about the Nivea Visage Q10 Plus Products because of the news of the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton (Also the wife of my childhood crush - Prince William), was seen buying them.

”She is also quite a fan of NIVEA VISAGE Anti-Wrinkle Q10 Plus Night Cream, which is again very affordable at £10.20 a tub.”, Kate’s friend added. Similar press coverage was given to Kate’s beauty choice by the UK’s “Mail Online” who has more than 34 million unique readers every month or “The Telegraph”. Nicolo Pome, Marketing Director of Beiersdorf UK, was very delighted with the good news. “We are quite honoured that NIVEA is doing its part to make Kate & William “Feel Closer”. It confirms that NIVEA is delivering top quality at affordable prices. We all are very proud that she “swears by” NIVEA and that she won plaudits for her radiant look on her first public engagement with her husband.”
Now we know why Kate was applauded by her commentators during the ARK Gala charity dinner where she looked radiant and glamorous. One product she loves, NIVEA Q10+ Anti-wrinkle Night Care contains skin’s own coenzyme Q10. It provides long-lasting energy supply to support skin and thus reducing and preventing wrinkles from within. That makes it a natural choice to fight signs of skin aging.

My sis and I have been using quite a lot of Nivea Products lately. Our current favorite is still the classic Nivea Cream which my sister, Tracy, bought a lot of when she went to Germany a few months ago.

We're really looking forward for gorgeous results! Will let you, girls, know what we think about the Q10 Plus soon!

Cheers,

NOTD: Flower Dream

Was in the mood to do another nail art. Was actually planning to just do some french tips but I just can't help myself to make everything look so girly. :P

Here's what I did to my nails this time:
Holding my Pink Samsung Genoa Phone

I called it "Flower Dream" because when I asked my bestfriend, Liz, what I could name this nail art, she said that the purple and the sparkles remind her of a sort of dream sequence. And then there are those flower-like dots with little trails of pollen or petals.

Closer photo. I don't have the proper nail art brush so I just used the tip of a pen that has ran out of ink. Haha! :)

I used Elf Nail Polish in Pearl Pink as base
AmA Nail Polish in color 22 for the tips
Chic Nail Color Glaze in Silver Dust to add the sparkling effect
And some acrylic nail paint for the dots.

♥♥♥

Germany, Nivea and Schwarzkopf

Hello everyone! Yes, I still exist.

It's been a month since the summer academy I attended in Germany ended, and here are a couple of happy pictures (unfortunately, of myself --- too shy to ask if my classmates would allow their faces to be featured on a beauty blog haha):

Revlon Fuchsia lipstick all the way!
A guy classmate thinks I'm cute *only* when I wear red lipstick.
Yes that's a bag from Cole Vintage. Got praises from classmates from Macedonia, Ukraine and India!

Inside one of the churches.

Strolling around the baroque city of Eichstaett!

Construction - what a view!
With my best friend, who looks like a Japanese businessman.

At Nuremberg.

Now the loot:

I wasn't able to grab a lot of beauty goodies - because my studies were unbelievably hectic and we did a lot of traveling (and not shopping) - but I made sure I stocked up on two things from a land so far, far away:

1. Nivea (German version)
  • There's a little debate going on in Makeupalley about which Nivea is best - there are three variants manufactured in Thailand, Mexico, and Germany; I'm guessing the formula is modified depending on the climate/weather of the market.
  • The German version is the original and apparently, it has the most fans in terms of effectivity and moisturizing power! Anyway, I can't really tell (because the one I received from Nivea Philippines works for me well too), but I bought four cans and 2 minis. These will last me for years and years!
  • And I do love Nivea creme with a passion. It moisturizes hands and feet extremely well, like no other --- I had to teach my other Filipino classmates how to put some on their cheeks and hands because their skin was peeling due to the cold weather in Bavaria!
  • Aside from that, it also heals chapped lips, calms frizzy hair, and, lo and behold, it also makes insect bites disappear! I always bring a tin in my bag =)

2. Schwarzkopf D-I-Y Haircolor
  • Black for my mom.
  • Browns for my sister (which she will review).
  • Blonde colors for me (to "lift" my black hair --- not sure if I will push through though, because I might get my hair colored at Azta Urban Salon instead of experimenting)

Cheers!

Review: Body Recipe Hair Remover Cream and Liz Colors Her Hair w/ Hortaleza Hair Coloring Cream

Today's post is all about hair -- from your crowning glory to those annoying ones you just have to get rid of.

I never really liked shaving because hair gets thicker and I feel like my skin is rougher. I usually wax my legs with Veet Wax Strips every 3 or 4 weeks. I've also tried their cream products before. Although I'm quite satisfied with Veet products, I'm still willing to experiment with other brands as well.

So during HBC's Great 88! Sale, I saw this product and wanted to try it out. I got it for Php88.00 but it's regular price is Php105.00

Body Recipe Hair Remover Cream with Shea Butter and Olive

It comes with a plastic spatula too! Very handy for application purposes. :)

 Information about the product

Directions for use, Precautionary advice and it's Ingredients

What I like about it:

Hair is removed easily
Compared to Veet, the scent isn't as strong
I didn't get any irritation (I have sensitive skin)
I like the plastic tube container for some weird reason. haha.
Available in all HBC stores

What I don't like about it:

It only comes in 50g so buying two will cost you Php210.00 in its regular price, while Veet has 100g which costs Php199.00 in SM Supermarket or Watsons.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the products performance. But I will still stick to waxing. A lot painful but hair grows finer and I'll only have to do it once a month!

The next part of this post is about Liz getting her haired recolored.

Liz has been coloring her hair for around 3-4 times now. And as you can see in the two pictures that her hair has grown and needs retouching.
She has used Kolours and Garnier Hair Colors before and now she's gonna use Hortaleza Hair Coloring Cream for the first time. My sister,Tracy, and I have been using this for a number of times.

Liz chose Deep Hazel Brown for her hair. (Ignore the 5 peso coin at the side. Haha!)
She only used 1 tube and 1 oxidizing lotion for her hair length. The extra one is for me for future use. :P

You buy the cream and the oxidizing Lotion seperately. And it doesn't come with gloves, container or conditioner so don't forget to get those when you plan on using this product.

For steps and some tips on how to apply this, read our review of this product here.

Here's Liz trying to apply this by herself. Haha. Eventually she gave up and I took over. :P

*Since it's only retouching, apply on the part that is uncolored first then just apply on the rest after.
Here's what her hair looks like after application. One is with natural lighting and the other one is when the sunlight hits her hair.

Liz is very pleased with results and really loves the color and it only cost her Php128.00 (since we got the cream from the Great 88 Sale as well plus Php30.00 for the oxidizing lotion)!
