Makeover: Of Overnight Braids and 80's Renditions

Hello ladies!

Finally it's FRIDAY again! The days just seem to pass by so quickly don't they? Anyway, since it's a Friday and we were dismissed early, I thought I'd take some time to write a post.

This is a trial make up look that Dawn and I did. I wanted to try doing overnight curls... which is basically dividing my hair into two and doing a plait and then sleeping on it which I'd let loose the next afternoon with tons of mousse in the hope of getting curly hair. WOOO... I think you get the idea.

AND voila!

Hello to curly big hair.

But, I wasn't too happy with the hair result and thought it to look too Bellatrix/early Hermione rather than pretty and polished. But then again, the hair reminded me of 80's big hair... and coincidentally, I was asked to do the make up for our cluster's presentation during the past Medicine Week.

It's an 80's themed presentation and I had little idea of what to do... and since I was at Dawn's place... what better thing to do than to do a make over/make up trial.

And so... here's my attempt at an 80's pose... not too 80's I think.

And the make up we tried/experimented on for the look.

It actually is more like Kpop met the 80's since Dawn did a double wing. :P

Sorry for the really bumpy face... I've been getting a lot of break outs this September and I have no idea how to remedy them.

SO here are more pictures of the look...

Also featuring in this look is the Targaryen ring. It's just so beautiful... I had to wear it even if it's not with the theme.

So, sad to say I can't post pictures of the make up I did for that event/performance as
1. It involves our professors and they might not like their faces posted in a blog.
2. Not all of the make ups were done by me.
3. I'm not so confident with the looks I did for that night. I mean... by the time we started doing the make ups, it was crunch time so we basically played with a lot of colors and some might not really feel like they work... or something like that. And I don't have Dawn's "magic hands".

So, how did you find our 80's rendition? Any comments? Suggestions? Violent reactions?

Well enjoy your weekend guys!

Cheers,
LIZ

NOTD : All Peachy

Hey guys!

My nails are all peachy instead of my usual peachy pink shade polishes.
I first thought that it made my fingers appear darker but after some times, I guess I have grown to like it to the point that I actually think it looks better than the usual colors I use.

Besides, I really do like peach. I am the "Peach" in Peachy Pink Sisters while my sis, Trace was the "Pink" one.

I used Etude House SOR202 Nail Polish.

It actually looks so clean and simple.
It's a nice polish you could wear everyday that would look nice with any outfit.

I guess I could sport this look for my nails for now. But I am actually missing doing nail arts.
Will probably do some soon!

Cheers!

EOTD : Golds and Greens

Hey everyone!

A few days ago I mentioned that I gave up putting eyeshadow since I'm always in a hurry to go to work... Well, I guess I can't settle with my eyes looking so plain after all!

I just have to sacrifice a little sleeping time so I can do something like this:

It was raining so I guess I just wanted to add a little color to my day.

I used my new Sleek Divine palette for my eyeshadow
and eyeliners from Kanebo, Prestige and Majolica Majorca.

So that's all!

Haha! I'm just too tired since I had to wait an hour and a half just to ride an FX to get home.
I shall now go to sleep! Night!

Cheers!

Someday by Justin Bieber Fragrance Launch

Hello lovelies!

Yesterday we were privileged enough to attend the launch of Someday by Justin Bieber. Nope, it's not his new album or single, and I think all the JB fans out there already knows about it. For those who aren't avid JB followers/fans, Someday is Justin Bieber's first fragrance for her.

The launch was held in SM Makati's Department Store. It was a modest event where fans and non fans alike were able to take photos with the Justin Bieber posters and sample the fragrance Someday.

It was attended by JB fans, celebrities, and also fellow bloggers.

Dawn and I were actually one of the first people at the event. The program started promptly with Maan and the other staff going about and explaining the fragrance and the concept behind it to everybody. It was a very casual and light launch with fans, celebrities, and bloggers mingling and taking photos together. Other bloggers in the event were, our adopted sister, Helen of luckycitrine.blogspot.com and Kumi of http://www.lovingsunshine.com/

The crowd attending the event.

Guest Celebrities who attended. Sorry about the angle, there were a lot of people and it was hard to cut in front of the photographers.

Brent Javier who kind of closed the event. :)

So on to the scent. I have to be honest, at first I thought they were going to give out perfumes for men. I was some how amused that it was for women, and happy too since I won't have to give it to my brother. More goodies for me.

"SOMEDAY is the idea that we can change the world, make our dreams come true, and even be with the one person that means everything. I wanted to create a fragrance for my female fans that I can't get enough of… that I want to get next to and I can't stay away from." - Justin Bieber

As I said earlier, Someday is his first fragrance for her and was launched in the USA in June 2011. It was a great success making a record-breaking number of sales after its launch. It became the biggest celebrity fragrance launch in history and sold over $3 million at Macy's alone within 3 weeks.

This fragrance boasts of a number of awards: "WWD Product of the Year" in the Prestige Fragrance category, Best in Class Marketing Award in Canada, The Fragrance Foundation's 2012 Elizabeth Taylor Fragrance Celebrity of the Year Award (US), Best New Celebrity Fragrance (UK), and honors at the 2012 FiFi Fragrance Awards (a.k.a. the "Oscars" of the fragrance industry).

So what's in this fragrance?
Here's what the official press launch says.

Justin’s fragrance for her is an addictive fragrance that evokes a sense of sexy, modern sophistication. It takes off with a splash of fruity mandarin, pear and wild berries, continues with fresh notes of jasmine and creamy florals and ends with warm hints of vanilla and soft musk. SOMEDAY captures Justin’s message of having the ambition to achieve anything, while always remaining true to oneself.

We're still currently in the process of testing this fragrance out but initial reaction... It's awesome! The smell is lovely, fresh, flirty and does not come off strong. The packaging is super pretty and chic you wouldn't even think it's fragrance by JB.

Anyway, here are more pictures from the event.

The free laptop bag... I think you get this when you purchase the big one... not so sure though.

The very pretty Someday.

And we were so happy for the goodies and the event that we just had to express our gratitude to JB. :))

For that day only, they gave out samples. Just present this give away flyer along with your SMAC and you get a free vial for you to try.

And here we are getting the privilege of taking a photo with Brent Javier.

And here are our take home loot: Someday by JB and a free Juicy Couture Lotion. :) Yehey!

So that's it for this lengthy post on the events that transpired that faithful Sunday. :) We certainly had fun at the event. Hope you try the scent yourself and hopefully the other scents will launch here soon. It's a good gift idea for your JB fan friends for this upcoming Christmas season. :)

Cheers,
LIZ
