PIXI Lustrous Eye Primer

Hey loves!

I love eyeshadows. And if you're like me, then you probably love using eye primers too to make your eye makeup bolder and longer lasting.

I've tried really good ones like those from Urban Decay, Dior, and Too Faced; while I've also tried those that aren't that good (you can check my eye primer reviews here). I still like trying primers from other brands, so whenever I see something on sale, I buy it to see if it's good. Here's one that I bought when I went to a bazaar:

PIXI Lustrous Eye Primer

The shade is in Gold Lustre.

I tried looking up at their website for more info but it seems like it's been phased out since it isn't there anymore. So I got some details from Oz Cosmetics:

• Helps banish fatigued eyes & transform them into vigorous looking eyes
• Evens out skin tone & imparts a hint of radiant gold to skin
• Ensures sleeker lids & longer lasting eye shadow
• Also works as a highlighter on brow & cheek bones

I like primers that can even out the color of my lids... like it has a bit of coverage. But I want the coverage to be like a concealer type that's matte... Or at least just a skin tone color. So when I saw that it's gold, I was hesitant at first but I took a chance and still bought it.

It's in a pen form. You just twist the bottom end and the product goes to the brush end of the packaging. I just need to twist it for about 4 clicks to get the product out.

The applicator is a synthetic brush. It's pretty smooth so it's okay to apply it directly on the eyelids.

It looks really good. It can actually be a good cream eyeshadow just by looking at it. It's very smooth and it can be easily applied evenly.

As primer, it can  make your eyeshadow appear bolder. See the photo below:

To check if it lasts long, I wiped the area with tissue and here's what I got:

The swatch without primer disappeared while the one with the product is still here.

It's pretty impressive, right? Though I have noticed that it changes the color of the eyeshadow. One good example is the swatch below. I used eyeshadows from Lorac and look how it darkened the shade, it's almost brown!

I think the gold color influenced the eyeshadow too much that it changed it's color.

When I wipe off with tissue, it still held the swatch impressively but the color is still different.

It doesn't really bother me if it changes the color, I can work the colors anyway. It will be a hassle though if you have a specific look in mind.

And even if it holds the eyeshadow well when wiped off, I have noticed that it doesn't do well when my eyelids get oily. The eye makeup creases on my lids badly after 5-6 hours. It was such a let down to be honest.

Overall, I'm not impressed with this. My primary reason why I use primers is to prolong the makeup. The creasing part makes this primer a no-no in my book. The changing of colors also can be an issue sometimes... so yeah, I'm not a fan of the PIXI Lustrous Eye Primer. :P

Besides the very slim packaging that will not cost too much space in your bag, what got me attracted to the palette are the shades included...

As the palette name suggests, the selections are indeed mod. All eight shades are colors I use very often since they are mostly neutral. I also like that even if the compact is thin, it still has a built-in mirror. Considering all these factors, it really is a great travel buddy.

It also comes with an applicator. It's double-ended—one side for applying eyeshadow while the other is for lining (eyes or even brows). I still prefer bringing my own eyeshadow brush/es because I find this one too small. :P

So here are the available shades in the palette:

The eyeshadows are powdery, but I'm surprised at how pigmented they are, even the matte ones! They are buildable too! You can just wet the brush and the color turn out would be bolder. The shades are pretty okay although the brown ones look pretty similar to each other.

It's a pretty decent eyeshadow palette. The only thing that I didn't like much is that it doesn't really lasts long alone, but with a good eyeshadow primer, it can last quite a while—even for the whole day if I don't stay outside long enough to get sweaty. 

So yeah, I would still consider this a good impulse buy. What do you think?

Pixi Duo Cheek Cream in No.2 Natural Peach

My sister gave this to me a month ago, I think.

I'm not a fan of cream blushes because of my oily skin. I feel like they're heavy and just makes my skin oilier. They don't last long on my face either. They fade once my face gets shiny.

This one is no better. This performs pretty much the same as most, if not all the cream blushes I've used. Oh well. It's still a gift that I appreciate though. I like the color peach anyway. :P

It comes with an applicator... which is pretty ummm small. I guess you just use this to dab the cream on the cheeks then use the fingers to blend. I'd rather use a bigger brush for blending though.

These are the two shades. One is peach while the other is a warm brown shade.

Both have a creamy, buttery texture so they are easy to blend. They don't have shimmers and the finish is pretty natural. The brown one is great for contour while the peach I use as my blush.

Here's how this product appears on my cheek:

(yes, my brows are very dark)

The peach is a little darker than I like but I still love the color. Peach is a favorite of mine! :D I would wear this color but I think I would prefer it if the blush is powder. Still not a fan of cream types! :P

I think you can use this as a lip color too but I haven't tried it yet. :P

That's all I can say about this product. Any thoughts?

Lip balms are a must for me. I use it every morning and evening because I just hate it when I have chappy lips. 

The one I am currently using is something I got from my April Glamourbox.

The product is 10oz and is worth Php 735.00 each.

It's the first product I got from the brand.

I actually never heard of Pixi 'til I got this one so I did a little research on their website. It's a brand from London created 10 years ago by Petra Strand. It carries makeup and skincare infused with botanical and beneficial ingredients that treat your skin as you wear them.

Interesting, right? Makes me want to try more of their stuff!

I'm not so sure if this particular one is still available. I believe this is limited edition. The other Brilliance Balms are available in 11 shades.

I really like the look of the product. It's just too cute! I guess because it looks like a crayon—and you know how much I love to draw! The packaging is just a bit too big for a lip balm considering the real product is only 1/3 of the whole pencil. See photo below:

This glides softly on lips. It doesn't feel too buttery and thick which I super love. It has a subtle cooling sensation too.

What makes me love it more is the tint it leave behind when you use it. It gives me a soft pink glow on my lips that makes it look healthy and oh-so-kissable!

See? :) I think it's even pinker when you see it in person!

This lip balm instantly moisturizes my lips making it softer and smoother. I like looking at the mirror and seeing my lips looking nice even if I'm just at home. Haha! I use it when I go to the gym too! It's always good to look pretty even when you're all sweaty! :P

I'm not so sure where to buy it since it is limited edition and I dunno if the regular ones are available here in the country already. Besides, it's actually quite pricey for a lip balm anyway and there are some that moisturizes my lips the same way and is worth half of this. I guess I don't mind if the other balms don't have the tint this one gives, I still prefer wearing lipsticks or lip glosses on top of this anyway.

Well, I guess that's that.

Any thoughts on this product? Do you have any info on where to get this in the Philippines?

My April Glamourbox!

 Hey gorgeous!

Yesterday, I received my Glamourbox for the month of April!

I am not a regular subscriber to any box anymore. So for this month I decided to try get a Glamourbox... BUT I forgot to cancel my recurring subscription to Salad Box so I will be receiving an April Box on that one too. Haha!

So anyway, back to my unboxing of my glamourbox...

The box is neatly wrapped with the really nice and sturdy box.

Overall, I like the items in this month's box. I wasn't entirely happy that I got 2 soaps in one box but I guess it's fine. I'm still excited to try them all.
