Catrice Blush Artist Shading Palette in 10 BronzÉclat

Hello dearies!

When Liz went to the Beauty Backstage Event last January, she brought home some products that we decided to divide amongst ourselves to try out and review. One of the thing I got is this product...

Catrice Blush Artist Shading Palette
The price is PhP 499.00.

If you're not yet familiar with Catrice, it's a brand first launched in Germany which promises to give us high quality products at reasonable prices. It also promises to update their collection and even give us limited-editions products to keep us makeup lovers watching out for more.

I haven't tried much of their products yet but I'm really curious to find out more, especially since I've been reading many good reviews about them. But for now, let me share my thoughts on this particular palette.

Here's the product description from the packaging (click to enlarge):

Info from the website:

Longlasting powder texture

BALANCED TRIO
The palettes offer three harmonious shades each to set highlights and create natural colour accents. The fine powder textures are longlasting and blend softly.

UND/AND
MICA, TALC, NYLON-12, DIMETHICONE, MAGNESIUM STEARATE, OCTYLDODECANOL, SYNTHETIC FLUORPHLOGOPITE, BIS-DIGLYCERYL POLYACYLADIPATE-2, OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, CETYL DIMETHICONE, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, COCOS NUCIFERA (COCONUT) OIL, TRIETHOXYCAPRYLYLSILANE, ALUMINA, SILICA, TIN OXIDE, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, PHENOXYETHANOL, CI 73360 (RED 30 LAKE), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE).

The packaging is simple. It's transparent so you get to see the shade you're getting. I like the fonts it used so that even if the design is minimal, it gives a sleek and clean impression.

This is one of the three shades of which this palette is available. I find this the best in terms of which one flatters my skin the most.

Check out the swatches above. There's an old rose-ish-bronze color, a peach with gold shimmers, and a frosted light pink shade. Even though they are swatched apart, I can see how great they blend together to create a gradient effect.

I use them separately. The darkest one would be placed where I usually put my contour on the cheeks. The middle one is where I usually place my blush, while the lightest one is my highlight!

See how it works on my skin

It instantly adds an instant glow to my skin and I just love the peachy pink color that it gives. It's pigmentation is pretty decent that you can just build the color however you like. It's also non-chalky, actually it's quite smooth!

I really like it to be honest, I don't see anything negative about it because it delivers a beautiful color and highlight, it's affordable, and it didn't irritate my skin. I just make sure that I blot my oily skin so that it doesn't fade away within the day. What's good about it is I don't feel hesitant to apply and apply because it will last a long while, and if I did run out, I could just buy again because it's so within my budget. :)

And that's my short review of the Catrice Blush Artist Shading Palette! What are your thoughts on this one? Do you have any products from the brand that you can recommend? :)

Becca Afterglow Palette

Hey loves!

Last year, when I visited my sister to attend her graduation, she got me gifts (and of course I got her some gifts for her special day also)! One of the items I received from her is this...

Becca Afterglow Palette

She knew that the brand doesn't have a physical store yet in the Philippines and that I would love to try out a product from Becca. I've been reading a lot of positive reviews on their highlighters even back then so I was really happy to see that I got a whole palette.

It's not all highlighters though. It's a palette consisting of five different shades. I would describe it as a group of highlighters and blushes, although one of them I use as a contour and one as a bronzer.

See below the photos of the box for some info about the product:

The highlighters are described from the Becca website as:

The blushes are described from the Becca website as:

The packaging is great! I love the metallic pink compact equipped with a mirror. Both the length and the with are slim, which makes it perfect for travel! The size of each pan is smaller than I'm used to, but I rarely finish a blush before it expires so I guess this is good. Do try not to use a big brush for your blush or highlight so the pigments won't get mixed.

These are the shades and below are the swatches.

They are all pigmented! None of them are chalky and they glide smoothly on skin. What I love about this palette is that I could use all of them! The first two shades, Moonstone and Rose Gold, looks great as highlighters. Topaz on the other hand, is darker than my complexion so I use it as a bronzer (a very warm one because it has a beautiful golden glow). Honey is also too dark for a blush, but it can double as a contour for me. Finally, Flowerchild looks awesome as a blush! It gives a sweet, romantic flush to my cheeks.

This is my go-to palette when I'm in a rush because it carries all I need to put color on my face (except the lips, of course). It's also a palette that I bring when I travel.

Honestly, I couldn't see any bad things from this palette... maybe I could hope that they could put more blush colors next? Haha! I just like this palette very much. :P

Any thoughts on the Becca Afterglow Palette?

Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes in Cherry Blossom

Hello gorgeous!

If you're in-love with the color pink, then I am definitely sure that you will like this eyeshadow palette from Etude House!

Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes in Cherry Blossom

The palette's shade is named after the beautiful cherry blossom tree, and I was quick to assume that the colors would be a mix of different pinks from soft ones when the cherry blossoms just started to bloom to a warmer pink shade when the blossoms are more mature. I was right. ;)

I've seen cherry blossoms for the first time this year when we went to Jeju and I just found them so lovely.

So pretty!

I was excited to open the palette and see what's inside. But before I show you, check out the packaging:

The shape is simple and rectangular. I really appreciate the slim compact because it doesn't take up too much space. The shades inside are quite wearable so this palette can definitely be an easy choice to bring when traveling.

Anyway, here's the product info from the box. Just click the photo to enlarge.

And more info from the press release:

Fantastic Color Eyes Palette (Php 848.00)

Our Fantastic Color eyes are available in two new palettes with beautiful summer colors reminiscent of roses and cherry blossoms. Make your eyes look blooming like flowers with Fantastic Color Eyes palette!

And now, let's open the compact...

drum roll please...
Tadaaaaa!

It's composed of pinks and sort of nude pinks! It's also a mix of shimmery and matte shadows!

The compact has a mirror too, another reason why it's great to take with you when you travel.

It also comes with an applicator. The bigger one for the lighter shades while the thinner one for the dark shades.

Below you'll see the closeup of the palette as well as the names of each shade.

And these are the swatches:

They are very pigmented. I really like the 3 shimmery shades at the left side. The mattes are a little powdery but I usually use makeup brushes when I apply this so I tap the brush first for cleaner application.

Here are two eye makeup looks I did using this palette:

First is a combination of the three shades at the left and the dark brown one. This is a beautiful pinkish nude eye makeup that you can use everyday. I just line my eyes with a black liquid liner for more definition.

The next look is using all the matte pinks and the dark brown shade at the outer corners. I also used the soft pink shade, Hello Spring, on top of the mattes.

This makeup would rock with a bold, matte, hot pink or fuchsia lipstick!

I still use a primer when I wear the eyeshadows. Actually, I use eye primers in all eye shadows I use. Without primers, my eye makeup usually creases because I have extremely oily lids. :/

By the way, the Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes is available in two:

The one I have is Cherry Blossom:

And the other is Rose Blossom:

Rose blossom has warmer shades—reds and neutrals. I think the colors are more ideal for evening looks. The red shade looks bold and sexy but probably too much for a day look... but actually, it still depends on you. ;)

So do check out these lovely palettes in the Etude House store near you. For the price of Php 848.00, it's a good deal since you'll get six beautiful shades already.

What are your thoughts on the Etude House Fantastic Colors Eyes? Aren't they just Fantastic, Baby (yes, I inserted a BigBang pun there)? Are you more of a Cherry Blossom or a Rose Blossom?

Cheers,
DAWN

Kiss Me Heroine Make Jewelry Eyecolor in Yellow Sapphire and Beige Gold

Hi dearies!

A month ago, I attended a product launch by Kiss Me Heroine Make. I blogged about it two weeks ago (you can check out the details here). Anyway, the launch was all about the new Jewelry Eyecolor, which are shimmery eyeshadow palettes and I was able to take home two of the four shades available! Yippee!!!

Kiss Me Heroine Make Jewelry Eyecolor in Yellow Sapphire and Beige Gold

Each palette costs Php 595.00 and is available in Watsons and SM Beauty Makati, SM Beauty Manila, SM Beauty Dasmarinas, and SM Beauty Mall of Asia.

I've shared a little info about the palettes in my launch even post but now, I can be more detailed and I'll post some swatches for you to see the quality of the palettes! :)

The palettes are in pinks and neutrals. I learned from the launch event that these tones are quite popular in Japan right now. They currently go for the natural, bright look.

For additional info, there's an English translation of the labels on the packaging at the back of the palette.

According to Ms. Sayuri Igarashi, the beauty consultant and makeup artist from Heroine Make, Japan, “The Jewelry Eye Color make-up that comes in four special variants: Yellow Sapphire, Beige Gold, Pink Amethyst, and Rose Garnet; is super long lasting, water proof, tear proof, sweat proof and smudge proof, perfect for the busy and active Filipina,”

It comes in these plastic containers that are non-bulky and very simple. It's easy to carry around so it's travel friendly! The transparent part can let you see the shades of the palette so you're sure you get the color you want.

It comes with a two-end applicator. The thicker one for the base or light colors while the thin one can be used to line the eyes or add dark contours at the corners.

Now, for the fun part! I'll show you the closeup photos and the swatches of the palettes I currently have.

First is the Yellow Sapphire.

The colors are a mixture of warm sand and gold shades. Each color blends well with the next one. I think the palettes are combined that way for easier blending of the eyeshadows! I think that's great, especially for beginners! The lightest shade is for highlighting, the middle shade is for base, while the darkest is for contour and can even act as your eyeliner.

The shadows are also soft and not powdery so it won't make a mess when you're applying your eyeshadows.

The creamy white shade is actually cream-based while the other three shades are powder eyeshadows. The cream one acts as an eyeshadow base to make the colors pop!

Here are the swatches!

The shades are very pigmented, even the cream shadow! The fine glitters make the colors fun and bright.

In this swatch below, I did two swatches of the powder eyeshadows. The left side is on its own while the right one has the cream shadow base underneath.
As you can see, with the cream shadow, the colors look fuller and bolder.

And when wiped with the towel, the darker colors with the cream base stayed better than those swatches without it.

I did the same procedure with the next palette:

Beige Gold

This is actually my favorite among the four palettes. I love pinkish nude colors!

See how pretty the shades are? They are so chic and I think the shades suit many women of any color.

These are the swatches

Did the same here—the left side is the swatch of the powder eyeshadow while the right one has the cream shadow base underneath.

When wiped, the one with the cream base stayed on better.

Although the cream base makes the shadows bolder and stick better on skin, I still experience some creasing because I have very oily skin (including the skin on my lids). So I still use a good eye shadow primer with the eyeshadows.

And before I finish the post, I'll share with you how I wear the eyeshadows (I like wearing my shadows with eyeliner).

Here's how I wear Beige Gold:
(I took quite a number of shots. Haha!)

And this is how I wear Yellow Sapphire:
(Still a lot of pics)

And that's all! The colors are so wearable and you can use it during the day whether you're off to school or work and even at night when you're off on a date!

Which palette do you like better? I still want to try the other two shade, the Rose Garnet and the Pink Amethyst. :)

Cheers,
