Review : Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Cover Powder in Natural Beige 02

Hey lovelies!

How's your weekend. Spent mine with a friend and we watched movies, had good conversations, and great food (which we always do when she comes over). She's gonna go to Singapore next week for a 5-day vacation and I asked her if she can buy me some makeup when she goes out shopping. Do you have any recommendations what she could get me? I would really appreciate any. :D

Anyway, tonight I would like to share my review on a compact mineral powder that I received during an event...

Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Cover Powder in Natural Beige 02
This compact costs PhP 695.00.

I got this for free last April during one of the brand's product launches.

Having enlarged pores and oily skin, I love the that it promises to cover pores and control oil. The SPF32 and PA++ is also a great plus for a powder as well as the light and silky texture. All the claims seems SUPER for me!

The product packaging is quite different to the usual look of Heroine Make Products. It's color is black, which looks very classy but different from the usual pink and fuchsia colors of their other products' packagings. The labels are still in the same font and metallic gold in color.

The compact has a built-in mirror as well as an applicator.

The puff applicator looks really cute and fluffy. It's very soft and I like using it. But after a while, I find that using a brush provides a better finish for me.

But seriously, this puff is super soft and I would still use it.

The shade Natural Beige has a yellowish tone that suits warm skin tones like what most Asians have (this is a Japanese brand after all).

Here's a swatch on my arm.

And before and after application shots of my cheeks.

As you can see, the product is about two shades lighter than my NC30 skin tone. I'm not sure how many shades are available but I think the 01 shade is lighter than this so I guess this will be an issue for those who have darker skin tones.

If you like your powder with coverage, then this product has that! And it did cover my pores as promised. The redness of my pimples as well as majority of my acne scars were hidden and I didn't even have to use a concealer or liquid foundation underneath! Do take note that I didn't just dab the powder on skin to achieve this coverage. I used a kabuki brush for application and swirled it on my face. Although if you prefer to only mattify the face and not cover too much, a light swirl then tap before application can do the trick.

(Sorry for the ugly brows)

With contour and a blush, the shade match looks pretty close to my normal skin color. The powdery matte finish will look more natural as it sets on my skin. A good setting spray can hasten this.

Oil control is pretty good since I only notice my face get shiny after 4-5 hours. It's pretty good! And I never encountered any irritations nor breakouts!

So here's the summary:

What I LIKE:
- Medium-heavy coverage
- Light and silky feeling
- Has SPF32 and PA++
- Good oil control
- Classy packaging
- Warm tone suits my skin
- Long-lasting
- No skin irritations nor breakouts
- Comes with a mirror and soft puff
- Pretty affordable
- Covers pores
- Locally available

What I DON'T LIKE:
- Limited shades available

I would recommend this to those with fair to light skin tones. For medium (like me)-dark ones, I guess we'll have to skip it until the time that they come up with more shades. This is pretty good especially how great it covers blemishes and pores. :)

And that's my review of the Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Cover Powder in Natural Beige 02. Have you tried this product yet?

FOTD: Because It's the Rainy Season Again

Hey loves!

Just gonna post something short and simple. :P

The last few days had rainy mornings, which made me smile when I wake up. Why you ask? Because I can wear my dark makeup looks without thinking that I should wear bright colors because it's summer (No one really tells me that I should wear bright colors... it's just that that's how things are usually done according to magazines and what the beauty industry says and stuff). Well, it's not summer anymore! Yayyy! Double celebration because I just hate summer. Hahahaha! Hello rainy season! :D :D :D

Here's the makeup I wore. It's very vampy!

I regret using a metallic browcara. It stands out too much but in natural lighting, it's quite natural-looking, very close to my hair color. I have full bangs anyway so my brows are covered. :P

And that's my FOTD! :P

Hooray! It's no longer the summer! Haha! I just hope that the temperature gets a little cooler. :)

Review : Kiss Me Heroine Make Impact Liquid Eyeliner

Hi lovelies!

Eyeliners. They've become a must for me when I do my makeup nowadays. Besides getting compliments about how I apply them, I just find my eye makeup boring without the added definition from an eyeliner. But because of the heat this summer, a sweat-proof eyeliner is necessary so that it won't smudge around my eyes and give me panda eyes. Good thing I was able to score this liquid liner from the launch event by Kiss Me Heroine Make.

Kiss Me Heroine Make Impact Liquid Eyeliner
I think this is worth Php 595.00 but I got this for free when I attended the event.

And the one that I have is in 01 Black. Not sure how many shades are out there. Will do further research. :P

The packaging is pretty simple. No bulky shape, just this slim, plastic twist bottle. It still has the royalty vibe that is visible in Heroine Make products (Princess Elizabeth, the one that appears on their package, is their muse) because of the combination of red violet and gold plus the font design and of course, the crown.

Because of the slim shape, this is easily one of the products I would grab when I go traveling. It doesn't hurt that it promises:
1. Super Waterproof type
2. Ultra black formula
3. Elastic fine brush

With all those promises, of course I was excited to try this when I received it. I am a bit biased when it comes to Japanese eyeliner brands because they don't smudge easily and they really are black! This is the first time that I will get to try one from Heroine Make though, so I'm still curious if what I was thinking was correct. :P

So let's check out if what they claim is true.

Here's a closeup of the brush. It's very fine, very easy to create thin lines with it. It's not hard nor does it shed and it really does bend to the direction you want it to go. I find the brush really good!

Here's the swatch on my hand. I think the "ultra black" claim is also true, especially for a liquid liner. Just make sure to shake the product before applying! :)

Now, it's time to see how long-lasting this product is...

I wiped it with my fingers a couple of times.

I wiped it hard with a cloth.

It didn't smudge at all! Woah!

I rubbed it with water.

Waterproof—check! I'm impressed!

Even though it's waterproof, it can easily be removed by a good makeup remover unlike their waterproof mascaras. MAN! Those are hard to remove! Haha!

Rubbed it with cloth while it was wet with water.

Still there and no smudge! I'M AMAZED!

Okay, all three promises are true as you can see on the photos. Another good thing about this is when I apply this, I don't have to wait so long for it to dry. But there's a little downside though. I have oily lids and when I don't put enough primer or didn't blot, I do encounter a bit of smudging. *sigh* Not much of an issue for me though because this ALWAYS happens on my extremely oily lids. Hmph.

Anyway, here's how I apply the liner:

So to sum my review up:

What I LIKE:
- Waterproof
- Good applicator—easy to use
- Really black
- Packaging
- Dries easily after application
- Locally available
- Affordable
- Can be easily removed by makeup removers
- No irritations encountered

What I DON'T LIKE:
- When my lids get too oily, it smudges a little

Would I buy again? Yes. That's an easy yes. I recommend this to those who love using liquid liners!

And that's my review of the Kiss Me Heroine Make Impact Liquid Eyeliner! Have you tried this yet? What about their other products?

Kiss Me Heroine Make Jewelry Eyecolor in Yellow Sapphire and Beige Gold

Hi dearies!

A month ago, I attended a product launch by Kiss Me Heroine Make. I blogged about it two weeks ago (you can check out the details here). Anyway, the launch was all about the new Jewelry Eyecolor, which are shimmery eyeshadow palettes and I was able to take home two of the four shades available! Yippee!!!

Kiss Me Heroine Make Jewelry Eyecolor in Yellow Sapphire and Beige Gold

Each palette costs Php 595.00 and is available in Watsons and SM Beauty Makati, SM Beauty Manila, SM Beauty Dasmarinas, and SM Beauty Mall of Asia.

I've shared a little info about the palettes in my launch even post but now, I can be more detailed and I'll post some swatches for you to see the quality of the palettes! :)

The palettes are in pinks and neutrals. I learned from the launch event that these tones are quite popular in Japan right now. They currently go for the natural, bright look.

For additional info, there's an English translation of the labels on the packaging at the back of the palette.

According to Ms. Sayuri Igarashi, the beauty consultant and makeup artist from Heroine Make, Japan, “The Jewelry Eye Color make-up that comes in four special variants: Yellow Sapphire, Beige Gold, Pink Amethyst, and Rose Garnet; is super long lasting, water proof, tear proof, sweat proof and smudge proof, perfect for the busy and active Filipina,”

It comes in these plastic containers that are non-bulky and very simple. It's easy to carry around so it's travel friendly! The transparent part can let you see the shades of the palette so you're sure you get the color you want.

It comes with a two-end applicator. The thicker one for the base or light colors while the thin one can be used to line the eyes or add dark contours at the corners.

Now, for the fun part! I'll show you the closeup photos and the swatches of the palettes I currently have.

First is the Yellow Sapphire.

The colors are a mixture of warm sand and gold shades. Each color blends well with the next one. I think the palettes are combined that way for easier blending of the eyeshadows! I think that's great, especially for beginners! The lightest shade is for highlighting, the middle shade is for base, while the darkest is for contour and can even act as your eyeliner.

The shadows are also soft and not powdery so it won't make a mess when you're applying your eyeshadows.

The creamy white shade is actually cream-based while the other three shades are powder eyeshadows. The cream one acts as an eyeshadow base to make the colors pop!

Here are the swatches!

The shades are very pigmented, even the cream shadow! The fine glitters make the colors fun and bright.

In this swatch below, I did two swatches of the powder eyeshadows. The left side is on its own while the right one has the cream shadow base underneath.
As you can see, with the cream shadow, the colors look fuller and bolder.

And when wiped with the towel, the darker colors with the cream base stayed better than those swatches without it.

I did the same procedure with the next palette:

Beige Gold

This is actually my favorite among the four palettes. I love pinkish nude colors!

See how pretty the shades are? They are so chic and I think the shades suit many women of any color.

These are the swatches

Did the same here—the left side is the swatch of the powder eyeshadow while the right one has the cream shadow base underneath.

When wiped, the one with the cream base stayed on better.

Although the cream base makes the shadows bolder and stick better on skin, I still experience some creasing because I have very oily skin (including the skin on my lids). So I still use a good eye shadow primer with the eyeshadows.

And before I finish the post, I'll share with you how I wear the eyeshadows (I like wearing my shadows with eyeliner).

Here's how I wear Beige Gold:
(I took quite a number of shots. Haha!)

And this is how I wear Yellow Sapphire:
(Still a lot of pics)

And that's all! The colors are so wearable and you can use it during the day whether you're off to school or work and even at night when you're off on a date!

Which palette do you like better? I still want to try the other two shade, the Rose Garnet and the Pink Amethyst. :)
