Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Water

Good evening ladies,

Here's a short review on my sister's pasalubong from Korea.

It has been a while since I've used cleansing waters again since I have never found a decent replacement for my Nature Republic Natural Lemon Cleansing Water and have settled with their aloe vera soothing gel as make-up remover.

Anyway, getting back to the topic. This Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Water has a very convenient pump dispenser mechanism. You lay down the cotton/cotton pad on top, press down, and a small pool of product is released and gets sipped by the cotton. For me this actually helps save a lot of product as compared to the "faucet-type" looking pump since there's minimal spill.

The bottle holds 300 ml of product, so to make it last, I usually just use it for eye make-up removal.

I had a picture of the instructions and the ingredients but it was just too blurry to post so here is the typed instructions and ingredients list as found in the bottle.

Directions: Place 2 sheets of cotton pads on top of pump and gently press downward. Use wet cotton pads to softly wipe across your face. Whenever you feel that your skin is dry finish by washing only with water after product use.

Ingredients: CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, GLYCERIN, PEG-7 GLYCERYL COCOATE, PROPANEDIOL, PEG-6 CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC GLYCERIDES, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, HAMAMELIS VIRGINIANA (WITCH HAZEL) LEAF EXTRACT, CITRUS PARADISI (GRAPEFRUIT) FRUIT EXTRACT, CITRUS AURANTIUM BERGAMIA (BERGAMOT) FRUIT EXTRACT, CITRUS AURANTIUM DULCIS (ORANGE) FRUIT EXTRACT, CITRUS TANGERINA (TANGERINE) EXTRACT, CITRUS UNSHIU PEEL EXTRACT, OPUNTIA COCCINELLIFERA FRUIT EXTRACT, ORCHID EXTRACT, CAMELLIA JAPONICA LEAF EXTRACT, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, DISODIUM EDTA, PHENOXYETHANOL, FRAGRANCE

I don't usually follow the instructions and just follow my usual routine of pressing the wet cotton onto my lids for at least 10-15 seconds and gently swipe outward.

The product melts my make-up and eyeliner (even the waterproof ones) but cannot completely clean mascara. For mascaras, I'd need to do two cycles of the pressing with the wet cotton.

However, I found that this product stings the eyes a little and that it feels a little oily after. Also, after sometime, the clear liquid turned cloudy (see picture below) and an oily condensate is settling around the bottle cover and making a slippery oily trail down the side.

I am not sure if this is due to the heat but it's the first time I've seen this happen to my cleansing water. Such was not observed when I was using Bifesta or Nature Republic.

Lastly, this bottle holds 300 ml of product and is only available online in the Philippines. I've visited the stores selling Innisfree products and this seems to be not available. I am not sure about it's price but judging from the price list of other products within the green tea series, it could cost around 500 to 600.

I won't recommend buying it, as Bifesta holds the same amount of product for a cheaper price and does not leave an oily feeling after use.

If you're deciding on buying cleansing water from Korea, I hope this has helped you a little. Anyway, until next time!

Cheers,
LIZ

Palgantong Theatrical Powder

Hi loves!

My friend went to Korea last November and I asked her if she can buy me some products and one of my requests was the...

Palgantong Theatrical Powder

She was able to get this for only ₩7,000 (that's around Php 280.00 here) somewhere in Ewha Womans University. It's original price was ₩14,000! (Good job, Jho! *insert Facebook like symbol here*)

I requested for this because I've read great reviews about this powder and I would like to try it for myself. They claim that this product is being used by many celebrities from Korea, and I just think that their skin looks so flawless. I've read that this is very soft and smooth and it gives a natural smooth finish on the skin. Exciting right? Here's a product description from sasa.com:

description

PALGANTONG Theatrical Powder from Korea is make up of Ceramin ingredient from UK. The size of particles is just half as the other particles. It reflects more light from your skin to even the tone with natural appearance. Thin and comfortable, brighten your skin just like Movie Star. So, it is also called “Star Powder” in Japan and Korea.

Over these 10 years, this powder is commonly used in Korean Movies, TV programme and drama. Over 5,000,000 powder were sold in Japan, as No.1 loose powder in Japan!

how to use it
Tap the bottom of bottle 3 times, twist open the lid and take out the brush.
Tap the brush to remove excessive product.
Gently brush on the forehead, cheeks and chin.
Apply light layer of foundation by making continuous circular motions on clean and dry face from the T-zone out until the desired coverage is achieved.

Tips:
Take light and small portion each time and build up to the coverage you desire.
For oily skin, absorb excessive oil with facial absorbent paper and re-apply the mineral foundation to get the same natural effect.

I've seen some pics of the previous packaging of this product and the present packaging is definitely an improvement. This design is classier with the metallic red lid and the clear acrylic container. I like that there is a mirror and that the product is separated from the applicator.

The surface that separates the powder has holes so you can control the amount of product you will get and it has a sticker so that no powder is spilled. Some people do not completely peal off the sticker to avoid spills and also reduce the amount of product taken.

The applicator is a white puff that is actually pretty soft but I don't use it because I prefer using my powder brushes when I apply this.

The product is a bit pinkish. This shade is called Original Beige. I've seen another shade which is Beige Ochre, a darker and warmer shade.

The powder is very light and fine and when you spread it, you can feel how soft and smooth it is.

Thickly applied powder lightly smudged on my skin

It may seem like the powder is very light but it's actually translucent. Once you spread the powder and blend it over your foundation, the finish is still like your skin tone but you look more radiant and glowing. Here's proof of what I am talking about!

I apply the product just like how I apply the Ben Nye Banana Powder (click here for the post).

Left: With liquid foundation mixed with BB Cream on
Right: With the powder on and concentrated it on areas of the face where light usually touches

I leave the powder on for 5 minutes or more. I usually do my eyebrows and apply the rest of my eye makeup while I wait. I like this technique since while I apply powder eyeshadows, I don't worry about the fall out of the shadow because it will just land on the large amount of finishing powder I applied under my eyes. I just sweep the powder off after a few minutes and no eyeshadow smudges from the fall out!

When my eye makeup is done, I sweep off the powder and blend it around my face and this is what happens.

My face looks brighter. It's like a subtle highlighter and finishing powder in one! If you think the powder is too much, just spray some face mist and it will set faster and it will just look like your natural skin! Check out my photos with the rest of my makeup on...

I find that my skin looks really good on photos when I wear this. It's like the pores are gone and your skin is healthier and brighter. And this won't cause any white cast on flash photography if you're wondering.

I find finishing powders great for setting and prolonging makeup and this product does those very well and I like that this effectively controls oil. It takes me a good 4 hours before my face gets shiny. Yay!

And those were my thoughts on the Palgantong Theatrical Powder in Ordinary Beige. :D Do you use finishing powders too? Which one do you use? :)

Cheers,
DAWN

Like it?
If you do, scroll down to see the 3 main products I used in order to get this glam rock look! These items were sent to me by Too Cool For School, Philippines for review a few weeks ago.

Glam Rock Urban Shadow
Php 435.00

The shade I got is No. 4 Moody Nude.

Here's some description from the press release:

GLAM ROCK URBAN SHADOW

Enhanced with a splash of color and the right amount of glitter, our newest eye shadows bring rock star-chic makeup to a level that is TOO COOL! Available in 10 edgy shades:
·       For a unique style with distinct colors: No. 1 Urban Shadow & No. 2 Retro Orange
n  Urban shadows No. 1 and 2 have vivid colors that help the skin look dimensional, for eyes that stand out.
n  As it is coated with a water repellent system and spreads softly on the skin, these eye shadows prevent color changes due to sweat and sebum.
n  Both shades can be used as eyeliners upon using a brush with a wet tip
·       For bigger & bolder eye makeup: No. 3 Peach Glow, No. 4 Moody Nude, No. 5 Gold Eagle, No. 8 Glow Rose
n  Enhanced with natural melting oil for shiny, well moisturized rims. The moisturized powder permeates into the skin, helping to create distinctive eye makeup without any smudges.
n  No. 3 Peach Glow and No. 4 Moody Nude can be used as highlighters or for shading.

n  Both shades can give the tear-effect beneath the eye/ upon applying with a brush with a wet tip.

For a nude shade, this is very pigmented. Super love the minimal amount of shimmer it has. With a good eyeshadow base, this will stay on my lids the whole day. No creasing even if my lids are oily!

Glam Rock Extreme Color Eyes
Php 665.00

Photo from their FB Page.
This comes in 5 shades

The one I got is Blaze.

Some info from the press release:

GLAM ROCK EXTREME COLOR EYES
An eyeliner with a resilient and highly elastic brush that helps create any style easily and quickly. Its airtight container prevents the product from getting exposed to the air, further promoting its quality and longevity. Smudge-proof and waterproof, it it’s the perfect eyeliner for every day or for a busy night out. Enhanced with micro-shimmer and pearls, it comes in five colors to help you create a makeup look suitable for any situation:
·       No. 1 Ecstasy (Black)
·       No. 2 Glitz (Brown)
·       No. 3 Starlet (Khaki)
·       No. 4 Blaze (Burgundy)
·       No. 5 Chaos (Navy)

Since it is a pen type liner, it's very easy to manipulate.

The brush is very fine too which helps in controlling to thickness of the line.

You can easily get the product to the brush by pumping the end part of the pen.
Be careful though because if you pump too much, the brush can overflow with the product.

Here are swatches of the product with different thickness.

Loving the staying power of this eyeliner. It didn't smudge although if you use it as an eyeshadow like I did in this look, there may be some instances that there will be like a 'chapping' part on my lids when I open my eyes. So just apply it 'til the part where the lid folds so that that doesn't happen.

I used the product like an eyeshadow. I lined it from my lash line until the lines of my lid. See the closeup of my eye makeup below. I still used a black liquid eyeliner on my lash line and also used black, gold, and fuchsia eyeliner pencils at the bottom part of my eyes.

Also added some falsies for a more dramatic, glam feel to the look.

For my lips I used:

Glam Rock Smoky Nudy Lip Color
Php 715.00

Info from the press release:

GLAM ROCK SMOKY NUDY LIP COLOR

Have soft, nude lips that show off your dark, smoky makeup! These natural, nude shade of lippies softly glide onto the lips with one application. It is smoothly osculated without being glossy or oily. It is available in two nudy shades:
·       # 1 Pale Beige
·       # 2 Satin Beige

I love the consistency of the lippies from Too Cool For School. It's not too creamy like the ones I've tried from other Korean brands. This one is rich and very pigmented!

The shade of this is lovely—warm and nude!

See swatch below on my arm.

And below's on my lips.

This lipstick never dried or made my lips chap. Staying power is pretty decent too. I'm liking this so much I'm thinking of going to the store and try out the other shade too. :D

BTW, the collection also includes an eyebrow pencil. Here's some info from the press release:

GLAM ROCK URBAN CHIC EYEBROW PENCIL
An eyebrow pencil that presents chic charisma! Eyebrows can be drawn very easily using the flat triangle automatic pencil. It gives soft touches and natural colors, it does not cause irritation on the skin, and is long-wearing. The Glam Rock Urban Chic Eyebrow Pencil comes in two shades:
·       No. 1 Gray Brown
·       No. 2 Dark Gray

So going back to the look, here are closeup pics of my eye makeup again:

It's very easy to do. Just use the glam rock Urban Shadow all over the lids then apply the eyeliners as seen on the photos. Apply mascara and finally add the false lashes.

For the face, a subtle peachy pink blush was used to balance the fierce, bold eyes and nude lips.

Rock the look with fancy accessories and a black outfit. Maybe adding a leather jacket  can create a better effect (sadly, I don't have any).

So what do you think of the look?
Would you rock a look like this too? If you will, take a selfie and tag me! I'd like to see your glam rock makeup! :D

Cheers,
