V&M Naturals: UnderArmour Brightening and Detoxifying Deodorant (Acai + Mulberry)

Good evening ladies,

Last July, was when I first found out of Venus and Mars (or V&M, in short) Naturals. The company provides skin care products with Emu Oil as their base and are made from scratch using only the finest oils and herbs. They promise that their products contain no sulfates, surfactants, alcohol, sugar solutions, and parabens.

Since I wanted to try their facial oils I convinced my mom to buy some products and then she started buying this product for herself. So I want to share with you her experience with this product. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of her underarms since she's a little shy about it. So sorry about that.

Just a little background about my mom's underarm problems. My mom thinks she has a fairly dark underarm, though as how I see it it's not really as dark as she thinks. She also has small bumps which we commonly term "chicken skin" and my mom kind of has this distinct scent to her. I can't really say that it's pungent or anything like that but it definitely not an ok scent to have.

So onto the product, below is the list of the ingredients used for this product.

Ingredients: 

Aqua, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch (Plant Derived), Potassium Alum (Natural Derived); Emu Oil (Animal Derived), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Plant Derived), Glycerine (Plant Derived), Xanthan Gum (Plant Derived), Euterp Oleracea (Acai) Berry Extract (Plant Derived), Alpha Arbutin (Plant Derived), Glycyrrhiza Globra (Licorice) Extract (Plant Derived), Morus Alba (Mulberry) Extract (Plant Derived), Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol (Preservatives)

It's packaged in a spray bottle which my mom likes.

So here are her thoughts on the product. She likes the scent and comments that it is not too strong and not to faint. I would describe it as a little powdery smelling and not very fruity; I have to commend them for masking the smell of the emu oil that well.

She also found that the product is very economical. The product is a 50 ml bottle and costs Php 555.00. She has been using this since July and it still has a little bit of product left. However, my mom used this only twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. According to the directions for use, you can re-apply this as often as necessary so if someone would use this product more than twice a day they might not find my mom's comment true.

As for the results, Unfortunately my mom did not see any change in her underarm's color, but she did say that her underarm's scent has decreased which I have noticed; we'd only get a whiff of it if she hasn't taken a bath yet. So big points for that.

My mom does want to buy another bottle of this product.

So that's it about this product. We do have the Emu Oil but since I am still finishing up my The Body Shop facial oil but as soon as I've finished that bottle, I'll give you a review of it.

Okay, so a deo that promises to level up its moisturizing properties (it avoids chicken skin!) and also helps whiten your underarms (I super need this). I have been using Nivea deos for a long time and it works well in controlling sweat and odor. 

I can't wait to go buy one and try this for myself... I think I'll grab the Q10 first. ;)

Dermax NanoWhite Underarm Treatment

I have posted a few of months ago about my problems about dark underarms and just a couple of weeks ago, I received an invite to try out an underarm whitening treatment range from SkinStation. I just thought that it was a blessing in disguise and I quickly agreed to try and review these. 

I've seen a number of SkinStation branches that's why I wasn't too hesitant to try something new. It's a skin care company formerly known as Godiva Skin Station which is now under My Sanctuary Wellness Center, Inc. I was sent 3 products which I shall introduce to you in this post.

Dazzle Deoconcealer

Hello dears,

This post is hard for me to write because it deals with an issue that I have been embarrassed about for more than a decade now—dark underarms.

You see, when I was approaching puberty, my mom made me apply rubbing alcohol on my armpits to avoid accumulating bacteria so that I won't get B.O. She was a very practical person and we weren't financially well off during those days and both my mom and I have no idea what the consequences will be. So I did what I was told which eventually led to my underarms getting darker and darker. Because of this, I don't wear sleeveless clothes nor raise my arms high. I don't even like going to resorts or beaches because I would always try to hide this problem of mine under a shirt. It's also difficult finding a nice formal dress because most of the pretty ones (at least the designs I like) exposes the underarms.

I've been trying to find the best way to whiten my underarms but still haven't found the right treatment that I can afford (suggestions are always welcome). I just started working and I guess to whiten them is one of the things I am saving up for because I'm getting tired of hiding and being embarrassed. But for now that I'm still in the process of saving up, I found this local product from Strip It's Facebook Page and got curious...

Dazzle Deoconcealer

I was decided to buy one so I PM-ed Arlette, the person behind Strip It!, and she was generous enough to send me one for free along with the big tub of the Strip It! Cold Wax I ordered.

I received a new and improved version of the concealer.

The dazzle concealers sold in the past has low content of Vit E and B3 so skin lightening wasn't included in its product features before. But the latest productions have high content already and so they're marketed to be skin lightening as well. 

"Your deodorant for special occasions! Now Enhanced with Vit E and B3 that helps lighten the skin!"

Oh it's alcohol-free! What a relief! 

The actual price of the improved formula is Php350 but I think it is sold in a discounted price of Php300 which was the original price for the old Dazzle formula. I'm not sure if this is still on-going because the promo depends on the stocks. 

Dazzle Deoconcealer

-an underarm concealer that also acts as an anti-perspirant & deodorant. It's alcohol free and has a mild scent. Great for special occasions, parties, performances and pictorials. 

Size is 10g (similar to a travel size deo)

 Available in two shades: Ivory and Baby Rose

Packaging is pretty nice. I like how portable it is and the design is very beautiful and feminine.

The shade I have is Ivory. 

The scent is really good. It made my underarms smelling fresh all day.

Consistency is harder than the usual makeup concealers we use on our faces. 

But it's quite pigmented as you can see on the swatch below:

I got this swatch in one swipe of the product only.

So the moment of truth, the pictures that took me all the courage I have to finally post online... my underarm without and with the product on...

The after picture may look sooo blurred but it's actually not (well, maybe a little bit... it's hard to take a photo of it on your own! Haha). It didn't entirely cover the darkness but it still did some major covering and the chicken skin was lessened too.

When applying it, it feels thick and it still needs to be blended on the skin. I use a sponge for that for a better effect in my opinion. Also, try not to wear clothes that are too fitted on the underarm area because there are times that I encounter the concealer transferring to the cloth. :(

For the lightening effects, I can't comment on that since I don't use it daily—just during special occasions.

So I guess that's all I can say about this product. It's a good short-term solution for my problem but someday I can find/afford one that is long-term. This deoconcealer is good but I wonder if they will have like a spray that dries on skin faster and will not easily transfer on clothing... now that would be so awesome! I also heard that they are making a new formula that is waterproof! Looking forward to that!

I got this deo spray from Sample Room a few months ago.

What I like first in this product is that it's so easy to use since you just have to spray it. I also liked the scent because it smells refreshing. Once I sprayed it, I certainly liked that it dries quite fast—only had to wait for a few seconds for it to be completely dry before I put on my shirt.

That's the amount of product you get when you spray once. It's enough to cover one underarm. It is a very effective deodorant. It keeps my pits smelling fresh whole day! But take note, this is a deo spray and it is not an anti-perspirant so do expect sweating. I don't mind that though. And oh, even if the product has a milky look to it, it doesn't stain clothes. :)

I like that they have 50ml bottles—perfect for traveling! I love that they have big versions too. I think this is something that I would buy again once I run out.

It got me quite curious about it and wanted to try it out myself. I used to encounter stain problems on my school uniforms caused by deodorants before so this particular product really got me interested. But as I got home one weekday, I was surprised that I got a package containing these:

I have been using this product for 2 weeks now. I would have to say that it smells awesome!!! All Nivea products do smell great anyway so that's nothing new. The scent's lasting power is amazing! I can smell it on me after 6 hours! 

This is a really effective deodorant and anti-perspirant. I smell and feel fresh all day whenever I use this!

And last but not the least... the most important quality, in fact, is that it didn't stain my black or white outfits (which I have a lot of). It has only been two weeks though. If I did find any stains in the future, I would update this post. But I doubt that I will. ;)
