Bourjois Blushes in Sienne, Chataigne Doree, Lune D'Or, and Rose D'Or

Hello dears!

Just sharing a swatch post of these beautiful blushes of my sister, Tracy. She actually gave me 2 of the blushes so half of it is mine now. Yay!

These blushes are from Bourjois. Haven't used much products from the brand so it was a delight to use these for the first time. The pigmentation of the blushes is very much to my liking since it's not too bold but it's still noticeable. I prefer that because I usually go for a bold lip color or colorful eyeshadows.

So the four blushes are the following:

Bourjois Blushes in Sienne, Chataigne Doree, Lune D'Or, and Rose D'Or

I like the packaging. The compact's color matches the color of the blush. It's easy to carry around since its diameter is a little smaller than two inches. It is also equipped with a mirror and a small brush applicator.

The brush is not really good. I guess it's too small for me and I prefer my brushes softer.

At the back of each compact contains info about the blush like the shade's name, shelf life, etc.

I'm not sure if how much my sister bought the blushes. :(

Here are the swatches:
From left to right: Chataigne Doree, Sienne, Lune D'Or, and Rose D'Or

And below are solo pictures per blush and their swatches:
Chantaigne Doree

Sienne

Lune D'Or

Rose D'Or

The shimmers of these blushes are so fine that it creates a beautiful glowy look when applied to the cheeks. My favorites are Rose D'Or and Sienne but Chataigne Doree is not far behind.

So have you tried any blushes from Bourjois? Which is your favorite?

Beauty and Bright: Skin Lightening Body Soap & Anti-Aging Serum Bar

Good evening ladies,

Today, I'll be giving my thoughts on this beauty bar by Beauty and Bright. This is one of the organic soaps that were given to us to sample. I have a hard time giving comments on soap products so, please bear with me as I try to relay to you my experience.

Packaging

There is little to comment about the packaging, the design is quite simple and straight forward. I don't really see myself buying this if I ever pass by it in the grocery since the design is plain.

As was said earlier, this soap is organic and would probably be the one reason why I'd go over and look at it to buy it.

I guess because it is organic, it has a short life span, expires after 3 years.

Ingredients list and directions for use. It's the first time I've encountered instructions to leave the soap on and let the body absorb anything. I apparently had been misusing the soap for the first few weeks that I've tried it. Good thing I came across the instructions.

Performance

I cannot really comment on the lightening effect of this product since I don't notice those details as keenly although I did notice a certain lightness to my color, almost like a glow. As for the anti-ageing properties, that I cannot comment since I'm not really sure how people quantify ageing of the skin. If they mean anti-ageing when the product makes their skin feel soft and smooth, then I'd say, this product has successfully done that. But real skin ageing is seen under the scope, and that proof I cannot comment on.

The bar has a lovely scent though. It smells strongly of moringa which adds to the fresh smell of lemon, making your bath time the freshest and most invigorating part of the day.

That's all I can comment on this soap. Hope to encounter it in the stores so I can further see it's effects.

Cheers,
LIZ

Review: Etude House Wonder Pore Corrector

Good evening ladies,

I think one of the biggest facial imperfection that women (and some men) would want to be rid of are big pores, right? Well, if not, it most certainly is one of mine. That's why I invest in products that can make them seemingly not there (refer to Porefessional post and Tea Tree Pore Minimizing Primer). So when I heard that there was a product that could actually make them smaller, tighter on it's own, I just had to try it.

PACKAGING

So let's get on with this review. Firstly, I really like the bold, color-blocked, comic-ish style of the packaging. Although it doesn't really scream like this is a serious product, it does appeal much to the young and hip (sounding like a really old person) crowd, and even to my generation.

The tube dispenser did not work out well for me and is one of the reasons why I wouldn't be buying the product again.

The reason being that the dispensing part is made in this kind of configuration and it wastes so much product. I do not really understand the purpose of it being made to look like this because I did not see it as ergonomic. I think it's made like this more for the purpose of it being unique than for any other useful reason. Furthermore, the cap was not at all helpful in plugging the opening so that the product would not leak out.

Directions for use

Apparently, the makers intended for it to be used in a special way, with the claims that it has a cooling effect. However, as I said earlier, it dispenses too much product and it's harder to control the amount you put on in that way.

PERFORMANCE

The product has the same consistency as my aloe vera moisturizer, it certainly feels light-as-water, and dries up quick.

When you spread it, it leaves a  thin film which makes your skin feel smoothed out. However, it does come to the point that the thin film gets irritating and somehow, when you rub your face, the film flakes off.

After some days, I started getting break-outs. Even Dawn told me that she had break-outs after using wonder pore. So I stopped using it completely.

VERDICT

I most certainly would not buy this product again since:
1. The tube dispenser system is flawed.
2. Too much product is wasted on the cap
3. It has not improved my pores.

In all honesty, I have not encountered a product that can truly minimize ones pores. It usually requires the camouflage of make-up to complete the poreless look. It might take me sometime but I hope I find a good one.

LIZ
