Review: Hello Glow Sunflower Collection

Don't you just get excited when you see a skincare set that works and fits the budget? Well that was what I felt when I was able to try Hello Glow's Sunflower Collection.

But before I share my review, I have to say that before I tried the collection, I honestly was not aware of the brand Hello Glow. It has been a long while since I just browsed the beauty sections of malls (since the pandemic started I think) nor have I actively looked at everything that's new at the beauty scene. I was actually contacted by the team behind the brand if I wanted to try and review the products to which I agreed to because I was curious about it.

Why was I curious? Well, I did a quick research about Hello Glow, a fairly new local brand (founded in 2020) and quite active in social media. It gave me a young and cool vibe. The products they have look fresh and also quite within a typical pinoy's budget! It claims to produce products that are vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and SLS-free.

What's more, the collection that is being featured has sunflower as main ingredient. I've used dozens of products with sunflower and I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that sunflower oils are one of the good oils for skin if you're someone into face oils... and look what's included in the collection—a sunflower beauty oil!

A couple of months ago, I got introduced to Dr. Morita sheet masks through their event when they finally brought their products to Philippine shores. There I learned about the brand's history and the different product variants available. This Taiwanese brand headed by Dr. Chun Hsu Jou has developed a number of sheet masks through thorough research and it shows that their sheet masks are well-loved as it is one of the bestselling masks in Asia, specially in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

For the longest time, I've mostly been exposed to Korean skincare sheet masks. Although I have used a few from other places, but to be honest, I wasn't really interested in them until this year. Before, I would use a sheet like once or twice a month only and I didn't even care what kind of mask it was. I have oily skin and living in a highly humid country so I never felt like my skin needed extra hydration.  I actually I just know that sheet masks hydrates my skin and pretty much acted as a moisturizer so why use it if I already have a moisturizer in my routine?

Having acne-prone skin, I have used skincare products such as acids that help dry up acne and peel off scars and other skin imperfections. Also, I'm guilty of not taking in the prescribed amount of drinking water daily. Let's remember that our body is made up of mostly water so we have to make sure that we replenish the moisture it needs.

Here enters Dr. Morita, a brand from Taiwan that specializes in skincare, particularly mask sheets. Their masks are the no.1 bestselling sheet masks in Hong Kong and in Taiwan. The brand is now available via Watsons and SM Beauty and they held an event to celebrate the good news.
