Makeup Experiment #13 : Zell

Hey everyone!

At last, I get to post another makeup experiment! The last one I posted was way back in September 2013. So after 8 months, here's another one... and it's another girl-to-boy transformation!

Well, here's my friend/officemate Jho dressed up as Zell, a character from the game Final Fantasy VIII. Both of us are fans of the RPG game and Zell is her favorite character...

And here's Zell. The ever-so-energetic, hotdog-loving guy with an awesome tattoo!

The tattoo on his face is very iconic that I made sure I got it right on her smaller face.

So here's are before and after pictures of Jho.

Jho actually cosplays so wearing wigs, costumes, and makeup is nothing new to her. She's already thinking of cosplaying Zell when we did this makeover. It's like a practice makeup to see if it would suit her. The wig she used is for a different character that she'll be doing soon so she can't cut it to make it look more like Zell's hair. But like I said, this is just a practice makeup session so there'll be a better version of this pretty soon.

And since this is just trial makeup, we only did this inside a hotel room in Subic during the evening of our office's team building session. Jho doesn't have the costumes yet and we just did some point-and-shoot with a camera in the dimly-lighted room.

Since Zell is a boy, I had to do some extra contouring using a darker shade of cream foundation-concealer. I made her jaw look sharper and cheekbones higher. I made some mistakes though like getting the eyeliner too thick. It was quite tricky to do. :|

The makeover was super fun to do but it was quite time consuming... especially since our bosses are also in the room. HAHA! Awkward! They didn't mind though. :P Anyway, Jho and I worked together to achieve this look. I took care of the makeup while she did the hair styling.

I'm bad at hair-styling but Jho, on the other hand, is very good at it. She gets paid to fix wigs for other cosplayers!

So before I end this post here's a pic of our model taking a selfie while covering her mouth. She kept saying that she has an awkward mouth. So I took a picture of her taking a picture of herself. :P

Anyway, hopefully Jho can soon finish her Zell outfit and do the photoshoot. I'm really excited to see her with the whole look. :D

So any thoughts on this makeup experiment? Any suggestions on my next experiment? Comment them below!

MAKEUP EXPERIMENT #9 : G-Dragon (From 'Monster' MV) Inspired

 Hi guys!

I convinced Liz, who has a very busy schedule nowadays, to do a makeup experiment with me! Yayyy!

Since she got her hair dyed a little on the reddish side, we chose a peg that has the same or at least close to her hair length and color and ended up with this look...

Tadaaa!!

Our peg is another guy (yep... another boy version makeover, just like the past 3 makeup experiments I did). He's a member of the only KPop band that Liz and I listen to...

G-Dragon of Bigbang!
And since he has like hundreds of different hairstyles, we chose his look during their 'Monster' MV.

Here are our pegs...

We had a hard time deciding which makeup to follow. It's most probably the same but the lighting effect makes the eye makeup look different in both pictures.

We wished that we could have dyed her hair redder but that's not allowed since she is currently doing her duties in the hospital (she's a med student FYI).

Anyway, here are some of our shots...

We tried to use a 'lip ring' using an earring but it's quite hard to position it on the lips since it kept sliding off. Haha!

And btw, I also did a drawing of the 5 members of Bigbang as requested by Liz a long, long time ago!

So what do you think of the makeover? I hope it can pass as a pretty decent experiment... Haha!

Cheers!

Makeup Experiment #8 : Edward Cullen Inspired (Rugged Version)

Hey everyone!

It's been a while since I did a makeup experiment (last one was back in August, 2012). It's kind of hard to find people willing to be my guinea pigs mostly because of their busy schedules. But at long last! I finally convinced someone to do a makeup experiment session with and her request is to be...

Edward Cullen!
But a bit more rugged... Another Boy Version Makeover! I keep getting requests for those. :P

Anyway, meet my model for this experiment, Ken. She was introduced to me by my college friend, Renz. We met sometime ago at Eastwood and a few days later, we were doing this makeup experiment! Talk about a very willing victim! Haha!

She wanted to transform into Edward Cullen.
I, myself, haven't watched or read the series so I had to base everything on the pictures given to me by google. I guess it was a bit easy to do since Ken's features somehow resembles some of Robert Pattinson's like the lips and a bit of his face shape.

The tricky part is Ken requested that she gets some facial hair too! I know Edward Cullen doesn't grow beard anymore since he is a vampire (correct me if I am wrong. :P) but Ken just wanted to see herself with such. :P

So without further delay, here are the pictures.

That's all for this makeup experiment!
I would have added the list of the makeups I used by I forgot some of them already... Sorry!

Hopefully I get more people to do these experiments with. I'm just a comment or FB Message away for volunteers! Haha!

Cheers!

Makeup Experiment #07 : Johnny Depp

 Hey folks!!

Time for another makeup experiment!!

This one was actually done like a month ago already but I've been so busy with other posts.
This makeover is quite unplanned. We wanted to do a different look but instead did this!

And of course the makeover is inspired from the ever-so-gorgeous...

 Johnny Depp!
I'm not really the uber big fan of him but Liz and the model for this makeover, Gucci, is!

So just like my other Makeup Experiments, we only used the available resources. Our own makeup, props, camera and such.

Here's a before and after picture:

Gucci is actually one of my friends since preschool. We get to hang out a few times these couple of months and decided to do some makeovers. We planned a different makeover for that day but was too engrossed with catching up on things that we weren't able to do it.

During our chitchatting moments, I got her to look at the Boy version makeover I did on myself and she liked it so much that she wanted to try it out as well.

We also talked about other themes too. We were so excited to do so much makeovers that we don't know which one to do. We already planned different themes that I cannot tell you yet since it's gonna be a surprise. :P

But before Gucci left, we did the quickest makeover we can do just so we can call the time she spent on our house as productive -- her guy version.
While we were thinking of what peg we will use, I remembered that her hair length is quite similar to Johnny Depp's. Plus, she has Jack Sparrow's voice as a ringtone on her phone so we get to feel his presence during our thinking session. LOL

So anyway, after lots of contouring and fake facial hair, here are more pictures of our Johnny Depp-inspired look!

It only took us around 30mins to create this look along with the pictorial session.
We only got a few shots since we can't control our laughter every time we look at the pictures. It's just so weird for us. Even now as I am typing, I can't help but smile whenever I remember that moment.

So what do you think of this makeup experiment?
Will Gucci pass as a Johnny Depp look-alike?

Cheers!

Makeup Experiment #06 : My Boy Version

 Hello peeps!

Have you ever wondered what you would look like if you were your opposite gender?
I did! So I experimented with my hair and makeup to see for myself!

I actually wanted to do this experiment long ago but I don't know if I could pull it off. But one night I just went for it!

I'm surprised I did the look faster than I expected.

1. Start with a clean face, of course. Then I tied my hair into a bun.
2. Start contouring face to make the face features stronger. Start with cheekbones and jaw line.
3. I added more brown shadows around my eyes to make it appear deep set. I even attempted to add a clef chin.
4. Finally, using a black liner, I added facial hair and thickened my eyebrows.

And here are the photos!
I made them in black and white since they look better that way. It just looks strange when they're colored.

Haha! I'm a bit embarrassed of the pictures actually.
I feel like I look like a big, creepy guy. LOL

Anyway, that's it for this experiment!

 Cheers!
