Physiogel's Mission to Strengthen Sensitive Skin with the Calming Relief Face Care Range

Hello loves!

For twenty years, Physiogel has been a brand recommended for daily care of dry and sensitive skin. I know some friends, including Liz (my Peachy Pink Sister co-writer), who uses Physiogel products to help with their skin problems like seborrheic dermatitis. I also use some of their products, my favorite is the cleanser which doubles as a facial cleanser and makeup remover! I believe that Physiogel has been a trusted brand to many, even to dermatologists. What is the reason behind it? I read in one of their press releases that Physiogel claims the following: "Backed by over 165 years of Stiefel dermatological excellence, our creams and lotions are built around the unique Physiogel BioMimic Technology™, which works naturally with your skin to strengthen and repair the moisture barrier."
And up to this day, the brand keeps evolving and producing quality skin care products that address different skin concerns. Here's one of their current missions—to strengthen sensitive skin! Read the press release below:

Physiogel is on a Mission: Finding Strength in Sensitive Skin

(Manila, Philippines) We tend to take our skin condition for granted, and more often than not, this issue is avoided during conversations. As a metaphorical band aid, we apply on special types of make-up or coverage to conceal what is best hidden: sensitive, reddened, irritated skin.

Filipinas are no stranger to having sensitive skin – admittedly or not. In a study1, the Philippines ranked second in Asia Pacific with 71% of women suffering from skin sensitivity, particularly in the face area. This reveals that more than 1 out of 2 women reports experiencing facial dryness, irritation or redness, and itchy skin conditions.

Physiogel®, the number 1 recommended brand by Filipino dermatologists2, recently held its Southeast Asia launch in Bangkok, Thailand to introduce its Calming Relief Face range that address facial sensitivity, redness and irritation. Attended by the top skin influencers from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines, along with the experts behind the new Physiogel® Calming Relief Face range, the event addressed issues to answer the concerns Asian women have on the causes of skin sensitivity, and how it can be managed.

Maulani Affandi, Marketing Director for Consumer Skin Health Asia Pacific GSK, talks about women and skin sensitivity. “You tend to be self-conscious. You attempt to cover up, and not be seen. Some would not go out. We, [Physiogel] would like to help women who are suffering from skin sensitivity.”

Outside looking in
Our skin is composed of three layers; the epidermis, dermis and hypodermis. In our epidermis contains the corneum strateum that serves as our skin’s natural barrier. Through constant exposure to sun and stressful environment, our corneum strateum weakens.

Dr. Peter Blenkiron, Senior Director Skin Health R&D of GSK explains the science behind Physiogel®, “There are numerous studies conducted to prove that Asians have lesser layers of Stratum Corneum than most Caucasians”. The rising percentage of women in South East Asia suffering from skin sensitivity is alarming.

Addressing facial sensitive and redness
Few products address the heart of the skin sensitivity problem. Physiogel BioMimic Technology® works naturally to repair the skin’s natural moisture barrier with essential lipids similar to those found in our skin. These lipids form a protective layer on the skin to protect it against internal water loss and external irritants. This way, skin sensitivity is not only relieved, it also keeps the skin hydrated.

Clinically proven to strengthen and repair the skin’s moisture barrier, Physiogel® Calming Relief Face range helps reduce the redness and irritation associated with sensitive skin. 93% of women saw reduced redness after 14 days of using Physiogel® Calming Relief Face Cream.3

Physiogel takes on its mission in addressing skin sensitivity issues in women, showing that sensitive, reddened, and irritated skin conditions are not a setback in living the life one seeks to have. It remains to be one of the most trusted skincare brands by the Philippine dermatologists, as it has been proven to restore and strengthen the skin's moisture barrier - addressing the issues at the core, leaving skin more hydrated and stronger to make skin less sensitive.

After reading these product press releases, I'm so curious to know how this will work on my skin. I do not have dry skin but I do have sensitive skin. Liz on the other hand has Seb Derm and I believe this range can help her a lot for daily maintenance.

Good thing I was lucky to get one of their products from the new range! Weeeee!

I was able to get the Calming Relief Face Cream! We'll be using it for some time first and we will post our personal review of the product! We'll keep you posted once it's out! ;)

But for my initial assessment, I think the consistency is creamy but non-sticky and I like that there is barely any scent. It gives the vibe that this is not just something to keep you pretty but it actually keeps your skin healthy and strong.

Are you excited about the newest products from Physiogel? Would you like to try any of them? Which one?

Cheers,
DAWN

  1. Is it effective for Seborrheic Dermatitis? Does your friend also use other products for her skin condition?

    1. Hi Charles!

Sorry it took me this long to answer your question, I guess you might have found it out for yourself, but I'll share with you what I experienced. Unfortunately it isn't as effective for seborrheic dermatitis. The calming effect was very minimal as my face was still quite itchy for the rest of the day. You'd still need to treat your seborrheic dermatitis with steroids or stronger moisturizers if you really want them to stop from getting worse. I was only able to completely calm down my seb derm dilemma when I resumed my TBS oils of life regimen.

      Hope this was helpful.
