Shawill Pretty Color Eye Liners

Hey girls!

A few weeks ago, I was at SM San Lazaro helping a friend buy her outfit for our thesis defense. When we were done clothes shopping, I dropped by the beauty section of Watsons to check out some items.

I saw these eyeliners from Shawill and thought that the colors were cute. I tried the tester out and I did like the finish so I bought 2.

I bought the color no. 4 and no.8. It's Php98.00 each. These liners are available in different colors like silver, gold, black, blue, green and so on. I wasn't able to count them... sorry.

The applicator is a soft, thin brush.

It's very easy to control. The brush holds just the right amount of product to line one eye.

The product has soft little glitters. These glitters are very fine and they don't feel sharp when it dries. 

I usually wait around 30 seconds to a minute for it to dry. It actually depends on the amount of the product you applied.

I usually put 08 beneath my lower lash line as seen on the photo above.

Regarding the super long black liner... I was just in the mood to line my eyes. I don't go to school with that kind of liner on. Haha! :P

I also coat the product underneath dark liners.

I really love the effect it brings to some of my makeup looks. Glittery eyes just give such amazing impact!

I'm happy with the product. It's very affordable and does the job as I expect it to.

It got me in the mood to do creative makeup looks!

Review : Nature republic Pretty Tree Wood Eyebrow

Good evening ladies, I'm the newly adopted sister Liz. :) 

So I'd like to kick off my adoption with a review post. 

Dawn made me try the Etude  House Drawing Eye Brow last year and that started my whole, "I need to line my brows" craze and I've been using brown eye shadows as substitute. Still, I've been wanting to buy a decent brow liner ever since.

So I finally have one, it's Nature Republic Pretty Tree Wood Eyebrow, the no. is 2 and looks dark brown (I can't read Korean letters). I bought this sometime late December or early January from Nature Republic instead of the Etude House Drawing Eye Brow since during those times I couldn't find any dark brown shade in any Etude House store and I really wanted to buy an eyebrow liner. I was lucky enough to get my hands on one as they were also low on dark brown ones as well.

I like the whole look of the pencil actually since it looks so clean and this shade of green is one of my favorite colors. I was supposed to buy the automatic one since I think it would be cleaner and easier to use, unfortunately, they ran out. Nevertheless, it wasn't much of a loss since it's not messy when you sharpen it - cause I encounter that problem when I sharpen eye liner pencils, they just stick to the sharpener and it gets really messy - or that might just be me. Another good thing is that the tip doesn't break off when you sharpen it or while you're using it.

Brush was also nice, the bristles were soft and easy to clean. Plus, the prints on the pencil have not faded yet :).

Swatches on the back of my hand applied in 1 stroke. The left one is when smudged a few times.

 So here's the before. As you can see I have thin hair strands so my eyebrows look sparse and non-existent from afar.

And here's the after. Initially, I thought the pigment to be quite strong and hard to handle compared to Etude's  but it was more of a problem in my drawing in technique than the pigment itself (I drew them quite bushy-looking then). Now, I think it to be easier to handle than Etude's cause it colors easier and you don't need to apply more pressure on it or run it through again and again to make it color. However, since the pigment is strong there is a tendency to get a really severely lined brow, although you can remedy it with running the brush over the line to break it, the pigment is still a quite strong so it might not be wise to use it if you're a first timer. But it is good if you're going for those kind of looks. It's long lasting as well.

Lastly, it's a break even deal when it comes to the price. It costs a little more than that of Etude's but since it colors quite easily you wouldn't have to sharpen it that often. Although I find it tiring to go to SM North Edsa to buy one when the time comes that I need to buy a new one.

Things I like:

1. It colors quite easily.

2. It's not messy when I sharpen it.

3. Packaging is pretty (green for mother earth!)

4. Long-lasting

5. Affordable at Php 170 (more or less)

Things I don't like:

1. If I'm not careful, I get bushy eyebrow effect.

2. There are no Nature Republic Branches near my area

Will I buy again?:

Yes, of course.

Trace Steps Out of PeachyPinkSisters

Hey everyone!

Dawn and Trace

If you've been a follower of the Peachy Pink Sisters for more than a year now, you might have noticed that for the past months, my sister, Trace, has not been posting any entries. It's all because of her thesis when she was studying for her masters degree and applying for a PhD in a University abroad (Yes. She really loves to study. Nerd. Haha! Kidding.). :)

 Now it's official, Trace will be stepping out of the beauty blogging scene. 

Just this morning, we dropped her off at the airport and left for Australia. She will be staying there for at least 4 years or more (she'll be visiting once in a while of course).

 It's gonna be extra hard to blog now since my sister is the better writer. But I'll try my best to get better and write things that make sense. Haha!

Although what's great about this is that she can send me more makeup goodies from Australia! LOL

Well, anyway, I support my sis 100% as she takes on a new chapter in her life. I know very well that she'll be successful in whatever she'll do.

I will surely miss her - our kikay moments, our random kulitans and other weird habits. Good thing there's already Facebook and Skype. :P

So to my darling Ate Trace, see you soon! Love you so much! ♥

You might have noticed that she has guest blogged quite a few times here at Peachy Pink Sisters. I've also gone to blogger events with her. She has also been my model in most of my makeovers and reviews that I've featured in this blog. Just a few months ago, her passion for makeup grew. It somehow became a stress reliever for her (she gets stressed quite a lot since she's a medicine student). Since we enjoy the same passion now, she agreed on being a part-time blogger here.

So anyway, you will be seeing more of her sometime soon! :)

Yuck Alert: FAKE MAC Lipstick!

 Last December I went to The Fort Bazaar at NBC Tent.

It was a really nice experience shopping there. There were a lot of stores... some were online stores that I've previously bought makeup from like Pretty Goddess which really sells authentic products!

One of my purchases from the bazaar was a MAC lipstick that I was meaning to give to my sister as a Christmas gift. Unfortunately, I bought a fake one.

Here's the story:

I am not really knowledgeable to every color available for MAC lipsticks. The ones that I know are the very popular ones. So when I was browsing the booth (unfortunately again, I wasn't able to check the name of the store) selling the MAC products (they also have Smashbox and Benefit), I really thought that those were real ones. They really looked authentic. Plus, when I was asking questions to the one in-charge of the booth, she really seemed knowledgeable about MAC items and that her items were bought from the US and reselling them. I was asking her for Ruby Woo or Russian Red because my sis wanted a good red lippie and she recommended me some more. But since I'm not quite satisfied of the red shades they have, I went with something Fuchsia since my sis likes that color too. I went with the most Fuchsia among the selections and bought it. The name of the shade I bought is Violetta. And I got it for Php720.00.

 When I got home to check about reviews on it, the color was very, very different. 

Such a shame. :(

I was really disappointed because my sister always gives me super nice makeup. This would have been the first time I got her something more expensive than NYX lipsticks (Well, that's all I can afford back then).

Some days ago, I read a blog post by Chriselle regarding Fake MAC Cosmetics and reminded me of this experience. It encouraged me to write about this and warn my readers regarding these stores that mislead people on thinking that they are selling authentic products.

 So here's the lipstick I bought. Really looks like the real thing right? Even the other products like the Studio Fix Powder foundations and the Benefit and Smashbox Items look super like the real thing!

But when you look closely, it also has the same shimmer on the package except that the fake one has more shimmers. And the brand logo of the fake one easily comes off.

 If you put them side by side, the fake one is bigger.

 I only have 2 authentic MAC lippies right now-- Purple Rite and Most Popular (My sis has more). 

Anyway, the fake one has a bigger diameter. It also has a different font on the labels written in a circular way. And it has the brand logo on top of the shade's name which is not existing in the original 2 i got.

And on the color, there's a very huge difference as well.

As you can see, the real Violetta has a very violet/purple shade while the one I got is very fuchsia.

The shade is nowhere near the real thing. And the scent is different. It doesn't have the Vanilla scent that is present in MAC lipsticks. :(

It's too bad my cell phone doesn't have internet access. I would have researched about it first before buying it. And to get a fake one and bought it for Php720.00 is a big 'ouch.'

I was embarrassed to give it to my sister but my sis said it was fine... although she traded it with some of the NYX Black Label Lipsticks I bought. Haha. :P

I learned a lot from this experience. This is my first time and hopefully last. I do hope this won't happen to any of you and this post can serve as a warning against those who sell fake products. Who knows what ingredients they put in it. Be careful of these sellers.
