I'm excited to share with you these four products that I bought last week from Ellana Mineral Cosmetics...

I was taking advantage of the online sale and bought some foundations to give as Christmas gifts to some friends. While browsing their website, I saw some unfamiliar products that made me smile with kilig. 

I've been a fan of Ellana for years so seeing that they've added new items in their collection is always good news—not to mention that they're MATTE liquid lipsticks that I absolutely love! 

And so, I bought ALL shades available... yeah, I bought all of them... that's how much I love and trust this brand. Haha! I bought them for PhP 499.00 each, but they're on sale right now for only PhP 359.00.

It doesn't have a product description on the website, but you'll get an idea what the lipsticks are all about on the packaging...

#mantraoftheday indeed! One of them became an instant favorite lippie and you'll know why pretty soon. ;)

So the product is:

Made with vegan ingredients

The packaging is a simple clear plastic glass, elegantly design with the gold logo and a shiny black cap.

It's equipped with a doe-foot applicator. It can hold enough product to cover my lips. The shape is just right for easy application.

And now for the fun part, the swatches! Yay!

Love is Kind, Love is Patient, Love is Devotion, and Love is True

The shades are awesome—three nudes and a vibrant red! Check the swatches below. I arranged them from lightest to darkest.

Love is Kind 

This is the lightest of them all with a warm tone. It's too light for me so I can't call it "nude." I think it's a good base color when I want to do an ombre lips. 

On its own, I think it's just too light for me and I'll have to see if there's a look I can do that will make it look good on me because a simple makeup with this on my lips make me look to pale and sickly. Haha!

Love is Patient

This is the pinkish-nude shade. It's the one I wear the most among the nude shades. 

It looks great when I do a natural look and it even looks better when I do an elegant Audrey Hepburn-inspired makeup!

Love is Devotion

This is a peachy-nude shade. It compliments my warm skin pretty well and adds a warm glow on your makeup look!

I think it's a shade that will look good on many skin tones. It's a great everyday wear.

Love is True

MY FAVORITE!

Okay, so I guess it's no secret that I love wearing matte red lipsticks. This shade is like a cool-toned red. 

I'm definitely loving this and it's perfect for the holiday season! :)

The formula is smooth and application is easy. It has like a vanilla-butterscotch scent that I adore so much. For a matte lipstick, it doesn't make my lips chappy! I swear its that good! I've used them for three consecutive days, and my lips didn't dry as much as when I use other mattes. Awesome, right!

And the claim that they can last the whole day is true. See below how I tested the arm swatches...

I tried wiping it off with tissue but the areas that haven't set or dried was smudged.

I then added Physiogel cleanser, the product I use to remove my heavy-coveraged foundations, then wiped it off with a cotton pad...

...and the swatches didn't move.

I then used my Elizabeth Arden Cleansing Oil/Makeup Remover.

After wiping, some of the product was removed but there's still a lot left. Impressive staying power!!

On the packaging, the brand's lips scrub was recommended to help completely remove the lipstick. Good thing I have one and I love it as well, especially its sweet taste! Nom, nom, nom.

Okay, so obviously I'm in-love with the liquid lipsticks. And I'm so happy that they are affordable. I like the shades, but I hope they add more... and I'll buy them. Haha! 

Anyway, enough raving. Just go try them out for yourself and see how good they are. I promise you won't regret it!

Make Up For Ever Professional Powder Blush in n°88 Cotton Candy

I like using pale blushes so when I found this particular blush on sale, I grabbed it!

It's like the perfect soft, light pink! I like wearing a dramatic winged liner and a bold lipstick so I tend to balance the look by applying little or pale blush.

I'm not sure if this blush is phased-out already because i can't seem to find it in the website, but it's still available in the online store Beautylish.

Anyway, I'm just gonna post the swatch for reference. ;)

The swatch is just beautiful. And I love that the blush is not powdery.

It's the blush that I always bring when I travel along with a light peach one.

I was able to get it for only PhP 199.00 from its original price of PhP 299.00 when they were on sale at BeautyMNL. I bought three actually. The other two are Clay Crush and Burgundy Blush. Haha!

I always think that one should always have a nude lippie in one's makeup stash. This one from Maybelline is a good addition to mine. The color is a bit brighter and lighter than what I'm used to, but it looks pretty good, especially if I want more emphasis to my eyes.

It's like a mixture of light brown and peach and it's pretty close to the lightness of my skin so it is a good nude shade for me.

I also love that it's matte! I'm a big fan of matte lipsticks.

I like the consistency of this matte lipstick because it's creamy enough to glide easily on my lips. It doesn't make my lips chappy too. Staying power is pretty okay, but reapplication is necessary after eating or drinking.

The Body Shop: Wildest Christmas for the Wildest Campaign!

Good evening ladies,

Yesterday, The Body Shop Philippines introduced their WILDEST CHRISTMAS with the their WILDEST CAMPAIGN at SM Mall Of Asia.

A wild jungle out-camp was set up near the entrance of the mall filled with their latest holiday collection offers. As customary of TBS, during the holidays they release limited edition products that remind which are reminiscent of the season. This year was a bit of a surprise since their recurring scents have gotten an upgrade.

Three new line were released mainly:

Frosted Berries

This is the update on my holiday favorite, Cranberry Joy. The scent is a lighter, and sweeter than Cranberry Joy. Personally, I prefer the scent of Cranberry Joy, something about it makes me feel a little bit more mature whereas this new scent reminds me of teen years.

Spiced Apple

I love the apple fragrances and the blend of the scent of this just had me grinning from ear to ear. It's not the usual apple scent that I am used to but the combination warming combination of the cinnamon and the ever so slight hint of orange just imparts such a refreshing feeling that it got me at the first sniff. :)

Vanilla Chai

The warming scent of vanilla is just a holiday staple for many reasons and I would have been more surprised if it did not make any appearance this year. There is so little you can do to add more appeal to vanilla; it is such an addictive scent that even as an additive in other products, people would prefer buying products harboring the scent.

The day also officially kicked off their holiday offers for all their customers but most especially to their loyal Love Your Body Members, as well as SM Advantage Card holders.

I know the matte lipstick and liquid matte were released a few weeks prior but it was my first time seeing and trying them for myself. I just had to share my swatches and excitement.

Liquid Matte is originally worth Php 495 but for LYB and SM Advantage card holders, you can get them at a discounted price of Php 350. The collection consists of 11 shades.

Testers

They are quite silky and smooth. They glide easily over the lips. They are quite pigmented but the color will not start out super pigmented (so no need to shy away from the darker colored ones). It does not feel as dry though it is quite matte when it settles. I will still have to buy and give it a go to compare it with the dark matte lip stain I have now.

But if you're a little scared of the vibrancy of the color, or simply not a stain or gloss type person, they also have the lipstick matte on a Php 200 discount. The lipsticks cost Php 795 but if you present your LYB or SM Advantage card, you will get a Php 200 off.

The color is build-able and seems easier to control than the previous one.

There are many other LYB and SM Advantage Card holder exclusive offers especially around the make-up stations. Visit a TBS branch near your area or any Watsons inside SM Department stores to find out all their member exclusive deals.

And of course, they also introduced their latest campaign effort: protection of the rainforests.

Unfortunately, I was late during the event so I missed out on a lot of other things that happened during the launch, but Emily was kind enough to still fill me in on the details even though they were busy with the clean up. Thank you so much.
