Sleek Strobing Soufflé in Smoky Quartz

I got it for PhP 200.00 only from its original price of PhP 595.00.

There were two shades available when I was in the Sleek counter during the Great Luxury Sale a couple of months back. I bought Smoky Quartz because I feel like I can use this shade more often compared to the other one which is more on the pink shade (Pink Opal).

(+/-): Acrylates Copolymer, Polyethylene Terephthalate, CI 77491 (Iron Oxides), CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide).

At first I thought it was a cream eyeshadow. I wanted a cream shadow that's long lasting that can work as an eyeshadow base for me because most primers do not work as well alone. Darn my oily lids! But when I made a swatch using this, I was actually surprised with the soft, jelly-like consistency. It's like soufflé! When I applied it on my arm, I just loved what I saw.

The color is just beautiful, like sparkling champagne. The warm glitters can add that golden glow to any look that I can imagine. I can use it as a highlighter on my cheeks and add more glam to any eye makeup! I won't use it as base though because I find that the texture will crease on my lids if I apply too much of the product. A little sparkle here and there will be enough.

See that? That's what it looks like when you put a thick swatch. That's not how I think you should use it. The beauty of this product happens when you spread and blend it out...

See those beautiful sparkles? It's like magic! Like fairy dust resting on your skin.

I like that Smoky Quartz looks great on my skin, but now I wish I also have the Pink Opal since I'm also liking cool-toned highlighters on my skin lately. Haha!

That's how it looks on my upper cheek. Now imagine if I had a peach blush too. That would look so glam and gorgeous. If you want more shine, then put a gold powder highlighter then boost the shine by tapping some of this Strobing Soufflé on top. 

I would only use this on my cheek though. I think using this as a highlighter for your nose or any other place would make you look too... sparkly? But if that's the look you're going for, then go right ahead! :P

I like that this product doesn't cake on my skin, just be patient on blending it. It's so worth it! :D

Catrice Cosmetics Strobing Duo Highlighter

Hello loves!

Since the time I was convinced how much strobing can improve my makeup by giving me a youthful glow, I've been consistently using it whenever I apply my makeup. I actually have quite a number of highlighters, and as much as I want to limit them down and maybe give some away to friends, I can't. They are just too gorgeous!!!

Here's one that I love to use lately...

This is PhP 499.00. Unfortunately, this is limited edition and it's probably not available anymore. I wish I knew about this earlier so I could have blogged about it sooner. :(

Reflections. The fine powder contains light-reflecting pigments to set accents on the face and neckline. The perfectly aligned shades in champagne and rosé-apricot flatter light and dark skin types and guarantee a radiant look.

It looks simple but I really appreciate how minimalist it is. I like the texture and that you can see it through the clear plastic compact. It doesn't come with a mirror nor an applicator, but I don't really mind it.

The highlighter has two tones. Majority of it is a champagne-like color while the other has a pinkish, sort of a light pinky peach rose, tone.

Here are the swatches. The one on the left is the pinkish one, the middle is the champagne, while the one at the far right is when mixed together.

I like it the best when combined. The product looks sheer when used with a brush and gives a very natural glow. If you like more visible highlight, you can use a sponge or your fingers.

See that beautiful highlights? It gives that instant youthful glow on our face! 

I like that this product is buildable and it's also not powdery. It glides smoothly on your cheek and can last around 5 hours before I need to reapply (mostly because of my oily skin and had to blot which leads to some of my makeup getting removed). It's a really awesome product and you get a lot of it with such an affordable price. Also, let's not forget that Catrice doesn't test on animals! ;)

BYS x Glamourbox: Make-up Workshop Event

Good day ladies,

Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to attend a make-up workshop by BYS and Glamourbox at the Center for Aesthetic Studies. 

BYS celebrates its third year and they have partnered with Glamourbox to bring us three of their best selling products: Nude palette (1 and 2), Countour Trio, and Brow Defining Kit. 

These along with other products are featured in the Glamourbox special edition BYS box for September.

To fully utilize these fabulous products, BYS has called on the expertise of Katchi Mejias to educate us on the latest trends on highlighting and contouring. 

First off, she reintroduced us to the contouring technique popularized by Kim Kardashian and then she introduced us to these new terms, "strobing" and "baking".

So first, she showed us tips and tricks to achieving a dewy youthful look by using the strobing technique. So basically strobing is all about highlighting. The trick is to get that balance of dewy glow against the ugly shiny look of a very oily face. Apply highlighter on areas on your face that naturally catches the light. However, if you want to amp up the dewy-ness for an evening look (or for photos), you can get a shimmery eye shadow of the lightest shade and use a fluffy small brush to apply it on top of the highlighter. Do not worry about damaging the make-up underneath the loose powder when you brush it off, doing this also sets your make-up.

Next is "baking". After you've put on your foundation and concealer, you press a liberal amount of your loose powder with a slightly damp wedge brush over your under eye area, over the area of  your cheekbones, on your chin and your temples. Leave it on for about 10 - 15 minutes, or while you do the rest of your eye make-up, then dust it off and blend well. Do make sure to blend well to avoid those camera accidents we see on pictures of some famous Hollywood stars.

Anyway, here is the finished look. Katchi says that red lips are quite popular now also dark lips (browns, plums). 90s make-up is also becoming quite popular again.
