NYX Butter Gloss in Devil's Food Cake

Hey dears!

My friend Rica sent us four shades of NYX's Butter Glosses. Liz and I shared and got two shades each. One of the Butter Gloss shades I received is this...

NYX Butter Gloss in Devil's Food Cake

Devil's Food Cake is just one shade from the 34 available shades of butter glosses from NYX.

It's my first butter gloss so just so we are clear, here's the info about the product from the labels...

So yeah... the labels are barely readable. I wish the designers of the product's packaging considered this. Oh well... So I'll just paste some info from the website instead:

Buttery soft and silky smooth, our decadent Butter Gloss is now available in 12 more sumptuous shades! Each glossy color delivers sheer to medium coverage that melts onto your lips and is never sticky, leaving your lips soft, supple and kissable.

For most recent ingredient list, please refer to packaging.

All shades contain the following unless otherwise noted:
Mineral Oil/Paraffinum Liquidum/Huile Minérale, Polybutene, Diisostearyl Malate, Beeswax/Cera Alba/Cire d’Abeille, Silica Dimethyl Silylate [NANO], Microcrystalline Wax/Cera Microcristallina/Cire Microcristalline, Polyethylene, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Paraffin, Barium Sulfate (CI 77120), Rosin/Colophonium/Colophane, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance/Parfum. MAY CONTAIN / PEUT CONTENIR (+/-): Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Red 6 (CI 15850), Red 7 (CI 15850), Red 28 Lake (CI 45410), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140).

I've been fond of wearing dark lippie shades lately so I really had to convince Liz to let me have this shade. Haha! And I'm glad that she let me have it. :P

The shade is dark but still very wearable. Check out the swatches below.

It made my lips look plumper and the gloss made my lips look healthier and... well, hydrated! The formula is not greasy nor sticky so I really like it. The pigmentation of the dark mulberry shade is pretty good and the smell is sooooo awesome. It really smells like pastry! Yum (it doesn't taste like that though... it's flavorless)!

This is currently one of the lippies I often use nowadays while the whether is still cool here in the Philippines.

So what do you think of the NYX Butter Gloss in Devil's Food Cake?

MOX Botanicals Lip Butter in Coconut Almondine

Hey loves!

My lips was annoyingly dry this week. Ugh! I really hate it when that happens. Grrrr... But thank goodness I found something that helped me "fix" my chappy lips and I'll be sharing it to you in this post!

MOX Botanicals Lip Butter in Coconut Almondine

You can get the regular sized product (0.2 oz) at Glamourbox for Php 740.00.

The one I have was included in one of my Glamourboxes last year. I only used it twice and my first thoughts were it was too thick and waxy for my liking. I also didn't like the taste and the smell so I just kept it in one of my "will probably use this in the future" containers. :P

Recently, my lips got so chappy and my current lip balms won't work in giving my lips the moisture it needs. That is why I looked for other balms that I have stored that I can use that might help solve this very, very serious problem. I took the MOX one because I remembered I used this on one of my friends who I did a makeover with. I didn't want to apply the balms I use because they were on stick form and was applied directly on my lips, at least with this one, I use lip brushes because I don't dip my fingers onto products in tubs. My friend really had chappy lips so I applied this first and fifteen to thirty minutes later, the dryness lessened. So might as well give it a try for myself and I am happy to say that MOX Botanicals did the trick.

I left it overnight and during the day, I apply it on my lips before I apply my lipstick and after only two days, my lips were back to normal! I still dislike the thick, waxy consistency and the taste and scent, but this sure solved my problem!

I like that it cured my chappy lips but I still find everything else about this annoying, plus, it's quite expensive! Haha! It's 2-3x more expensive than my regular balms, although it's more hydrating... hmmm...

Anyway, if you don't mind the waxy texture and the odd taste and smell then you might find this product great.

Have you tried this product yet? Would you still consider using balms that are too waxy if it works really good?

Revlon Colorbust Lip Butter in Red Velvet

Hey dears!

One of the things I love about blogging is the friends I get to meet from events and even just from comment exchanging thru our blogs.

I met Robin last year. March 9, 2013 to be exact (Oooh... it was the anniversary of our acquaintance a few days ago)! She's a friend of my college classmate and she also blogs (check out her blog here). We share so much in common, like makeup and man crushes, that we got along so fast.

We got to hang every once in a while and I also invited her to my birthday celebration. She called me one day and promised me a red lipstick for my birthday when she was out shopping... but unfortunately, we weren't able to see each other soon enough until a month ago when she went to our house for a sleepover!

But she still kept her word and got me this...

It's a Revlon Colorbust Lip Butter!
I've never tried one before and I LOVE red lippies so I was so happy to get it. Thanks, Robin!

The shade is Red Velvet.
A tube of this lipstick is Php 525.00.

The tube is pretty simple. The crystal cap has the same color as the lipstick. At the top is a clear, plastic glass so you can see the lipstick inside.

Below are the labels of the lippie:

More info on the website:

SHINY COLOR + BUTTERY BALM 94% of women felt lips were softer smoother and instantly hydrated.

- Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%
- Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth
- Sheer to medium colour with buttery shine
- Available in 20 luscious shades

So this product is a mixture of a lipstick and a lip balm/butter. So it has the vibrant color of a lipstick but the moisturizing properties of a balm. It's a 2-in-1 product so I'm sure many can appreciate this.

A closeup of the product

There is a sweet scent that is very mild. Almost unnoticeable. This lippie glides easily on the lips or skin.

Swatch on hand

The color is bright and you get that rich bold color on my hand in just one swipe. It also feels light and not greasy or waxy when worn

And below are pictures of my lips with the product on:

It gives a rich color payoff with glossy finish. It makes my lips look so healthy and full. The lasting power is pretty good and it doesn't cause chapping nor does it bleed on the lines of my lips.

I like this product and I'm so glad that Robin got me this.
Oh you know me so well!

Cheers,
DAWN

Korres Plum Lip Butter in Plum

Hey gorgeous!

Here's another treat my sis brought home from Australia...

Korres Plum Lip Butter in Plum

She has quite a number of Korres Products that I got to try and this one she gave to me. For those of you who aren't familiar yet with Korres, it is a Greek brand that offers makeup and skin care using organic ingredients.

Anyway, my sister really loves this lip butter so she wanted me to try it. And upon trying it, I fell in-love!

But first, some info about it:

(from the website)

Ideal for chapped lips
0,21Fl. Oz.6mL

Why Shea Butter?

Shea butter has been traditionally used in Africa by native soap manufacturers to protect skin and hair from the harsh climate. It’d also been a well known baby pampering treat, intended to protect newborns from extreme weather. Recent findings claim that Shea butter protects the skin against climate and UV aggression; helps preventing wrinkle formation; soothes irritated and chapped skin and moisturises the epidermis.

So this lip butter doesn't come with an applicator so it's better to use a lip brush or a cotton bud/Q-tip in getting the product. This is better than dipping your fingers in the pot for hygienic purposes. :)

This lip butter is very pigmented compared to other lip butter's I've tried. It also has a glossy finish and the scent is so yummy! This is available in 6 other shades too (Quince, Mango, Pomgrenate, Guava, Jasmine, Wildrose).

Here's a picture of my bare lips:

and my lips with the product applied:

I like that the color suits my skin well and it really made my lips look moisturized. If you have chapped lips, it quickly gets rid of it. I swear!

My only downside for this is that since the color is strong, I can't put on lipstick on top of it anymore, especially the lighter shades, which I usually do to avoid my lips from drying. I still need a nice colorless balm with me.

I'm not so sure of its price since this was just given to me by my sis and this, I think, is still not available in the country. If it is, please do tell me! :)

So, have you tried this product yet?
What lip butters do you use?

Cheers!
