Althea Watercolor Cream Tint

Hello loves!

Just a couple of months ago, I blogged about the first ever collection created by our one-stop Korean Beauty shop, Althea. You can check out my post about the entire collection and my initial thoughts and quick review for each one of them on THIS post.

Today, let me share with you a more detailed review of their Watercolor Cream Tints. To be honest, I was not a fan of tints much. I like liquid lipsticks but lip tints aren't really my thing because I like opaque colors and some tints make dry lips more obvious most of the time. The Althea Watercolor Cream Tints are a different case though!

The first thing I've noticed is that the shades are in the reddish side. Mostly warm-toned too except for the darkest and reddest shade, Plum Cream, which has some cool tones to it.

Anyway, here's the product info from the Althea website:

Get deliciously juicy lips with Althea's Watercolor Cream Tints! These pretty tubes give you the best of all worlds with the pigmentation of a lipstick, the long-wearing power of a stain and the moisturizing formula of a gloss. Bold, pigmented and equipped with a pretty sheen, these lippies contain hyaluronic acid and squalene to prevent chapped lips from flaking, perfect for stashing in your purse for easy touch-ups and comfortable wear. Pick from 4 different shades to suit your mood!

How to Use
Apply directly onto the lips with the applicator provided and gently blend onto the lips

The packaging looks great. It is travel-friendly because it's non-bulky and seals well, no leaks at all. The transparent case helps you find the shade you want to use with ease.

The doe-foot applicator is easy to use and it can hold enough product to cover both lips.

I like the sweet, fruity scent of the cream tints. It's addictive actually! It even tastes nice. Haha! Just don't lick them off... well, even if you do, your lips will still retain color. Just check out the swatches below:

01 Plum Cream, 02 Strawberry Cream, 03 Peach Cream, 04 Marron Cream

The words "cream tints" can be realized better when you see the swatches. As you can see, the pigmentation is great and it does look very rich and creamy but when you wipe it off, you'll see that the swatches left a tint on my skin. This makes the product so long lasting!

The watercolor part is more on how you use it. Since it can be a tint, you can add layers to create a more bold color, like what you do when you paint with watercolors. This makes the Althea Watercolor Cream Tints ideal for looks like ombre lips! So I created lip swatches using the tints in different looks. See them below.

01 Plum Cream
The darkest and the one with the most cool tonal value. It's also my favorite among the four shades available

01 Strawberry Cream
The reddest of them all! It's great when you're planning to have a bold day ahead!

03 Peach Cream
Though I love the color peach, this is just a bit too reddish for me. The color is still lovely though. It's the most wearable color for me unless you plan to go very neutral which is the last shade.

Tint Only

04 Marron Cream
The nude shade. To the point that the tint is almost the same color as my lips so it's like evening out the color of it, which is great so if you're going for a natural makeup look, then this can be a great lippie for you.

Ombre lips

It's not so visible here. I think it's because it is the most nude of the all and closest to my lip color

Tint Only

With all the claims in the product description, I definitely agree that they are all true. These tints never caused my lips to get dry or get chappy. I love the creaminess and the strong pigmentation of these babies, but I really appreciate the tint it leaves behind so whatever happens during your day, your lips still has color!

The only thing I'd want from the Althea Watercolor Cream Tints is for them to add MORE SHADES PLEASE! Haha! This really gave me a new appreciation for lip tints. This became a great travel companion and I'm pretty sure this will be one of my lip products that I'll be using a lot from my collection.

And that's all for the Althea Watercolor Cream Tints. Have you tried them yet? Do you like other lip tints? Which ones? Let me know on the comments below!

Cheers,
DAWN
