FOTD: Merlot

Hey guys!

Sharing another FOTD with you all. :D

I was in a mood to go a little dark for the day but still something I can wear to work. I ended up using shades that are close to the color of red wine.

That's why I named this look "Merlot" and I also used an eyeshadow shade named Merlot in my LORAC Mega Pro Palette. :P

These are the products I used.

NYX Full Coverage Concealer in a Jar in Beige

The key parts of this makeup look are the eyes and lips. I concentrated the wine colors on those parts.

For the eyes, I mixed warm pinks, wine red, and dark brown.

A nice winged liner can add some sexiness to the already sexy color.

I also added a light pink shade under the lower lash line to contrast the dark shadows and liner.

A beautiful deep lippie is the star of this look. I just love this eye-catching shade from Avon although it has a tendency to bleed.

So that's my look! If you have questions regarding this FOTD, comment them below! :)

EOTD: Tomayto, Tomahto

Hey everyone!

Sharing one of the eye makeup I did a few days ago.

I don't usually plan what eye shadow and eyeliner I'll put on whenever I apply my makeup. I just go with the first palette I see and that's what happened in this EOTD. What made this special is that the eyeliners I paired the palette with made the colors similar to something. :P

As you can see on the photo above, the colors are a mix of warm pinks, that sort of look like sheer red, different shades of green, and gold. The combination looks good but these colors are usually associated with Christmas... except, the colors are lighter... it reminded me of something else... it reminded me of tomatoes! Haha! And that's why I named this look as such. Can you see tomato-ey colors too?

Anyway, these are the products I used.

Check out more photos of the EOTD below:

So what do you think? Does the tomato-ish color combination work? :)

Yves Saint Laurent Pure Chromatics Wet & Dry Eye Shadows in No. 7

Hey gorgeous!

It's my birthday!!! I have many things planned for today so I'm just gonna leave a quick blog post. :)

Since this is a special day for me, I'll post about a special item as well. I'm very in-love with this eyeshadow palette. It just looks so... magical when applied on the lids. :D

Yves Saint Laurent Pure Chromatics Wet & Dry Eye Shadows in No. 7
Bought this when I was in the US for a vacation.

I just love how elegant YSL packagings are. The shape is so simple but the super shiny gold, plus that beautiful engraved logo in a rich Scarlet (or is this Carmine) shade of red, make all the difference.

At the packaging, you'll see some product info and some makeup tips on how to use the applicators and eyeshadows.

Here are additional info from the website:

Through the magic of water and a revolutionary new process, Yves Saint Laurent pushes the limits of color with PURE CHROMATICS, a new generation of eye shadows. Real makeup artist magic is made easy with emblematic harmonies that captivate the eyes.

THE POWER OF WATER
New water-process technology, exclusive to YSL,  is the latest discovery in color for pigments more intense and dramatic than ever before!

USE WET FOR A CHROMATIC TRANSFORMATION
Expect the unexpected. Water enhances color pigments in PURE CHROMATICS. When used wet, the water activates the pigments and gives full intensity to their color. The effect is the satiny powder transforms into a luxurious cream while pearls shine with a metallic finish.

It comes with two applicators.

The ones with bigger foams are ideal for dry application while the smaller one is for wet application.

Swatches on hand

The soft glitters remind me of something magical. It's like a makeup for the elves and fairies!

Below are pictures on how I wear the eyeshadow.

The ones above are in dry application.

While the one below is when I use wet application:
I guess whether dry or wet, I get the same output. LOL
I like my colors very bold. I think the eyeshadow primer (from Too Faced) made the colors vibrant even when I applied it dry.

And here are some FOTD shots to see my whole makeup look:

And that's all! Gonna get ready for a whole day of me time! Yayyy!
Enjoy your day as well, guys! :D

I bought a tried and tested product—the Estee Lauder Double Wear. My shade before is Rattan but the SA recommended that the shade Ivory Beige is my new color.

I also bought all these freebies after I made the purchase! Yayyy!

Oh, I forgot to add this in the part 1 haul post. The hair products on the picture above were bought back in LA.

Lancome Dual Finish Versatile Powder Makeup in Matte Ginger IV
Yves Saint Laurent Pure Chromatics 4 Wet & Dry Eye Shadows in 7
Victoria's Secret Tinted Moisturizer/Primer in Golden Medium

And I also bought some Clarins skincare!!! These products were in promo sets so I saved a huge deal of money. My sister, Trace really loves their products so I want to try them out too.

Multi-Active Skin Renewal Serum
Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction Cream
It also came with a pouch!

Vital Light Serum Dark Spot Correcting
Vital Light Day Illuminating Anti-Ageing Cream

And finally, I bought 2 leather bags from Theysken's Theory and DKNY!

So much new babies!!! I'm overwhelmed. Up to now I haven't open more than half of what I bought. The blogger in me kept insisting I take pictures first. LOL

Which of these do you like best? Which one would you like to read a review about?

When Pretty Things Die...

... IT HURTS!

Trace's Note: First picture's taken from mymakeupreviews.blogspot.com (Entry) and the terrifying ones were captured last night. Rest in pieces, my Yves Saint Laurent Signes D' Orient, Fall '06 Collector Powder For Eyes and Complexion (MUA Reviews). You have served me well - I tried my best to keep you around intact! But hey, I'm still housing your dust for highlighting and bronzing - sorry for an old MMU jar for an urn. See, at death, you still have use. That's love.
