EOTD: Tomayto, Tomahto

Hey everyone!

Sharing one of the eye makeup I did a few days ago.

I don't usually plan what eye shadow and eyeliner I'll put on whenever I apply my makeup. I just go with the first palette I see and that's what happened in this EOTD. What made this special is that the eyeliners I paired the palette with made the colors similar to something. :P

As you can see on the photo above, the colors are a mix of warm pinks, that sort of look like sheer red, different shades of green, and gold. The combination looks good but these colors are usually associated with Christmas... except, the colors are lighter... it reminded me of something else... it reminded me of tomatoes! Haha! And that's why I named this look as such. Can you see tomato-ey colors too?

Anyway, these are the products I used.

Check out more photos of the EOTD below:

So what do you think? Does the tomato-ish color combination work? :)

Styli-Style Matte Lipstick in Fuschia

Hello beauties!

So here's one of my random purchases.
I was at Beauty Bar and this particular lipstick was on sale. It was 50% off and it was a Fuchsia shade with a tint of blue. It also said that it was matte so I was so eager to get one... and I did!

Styli-Style Matte Lipstick in Fuschia
It's regular price is Php 595.00. It's quite pricey that's why I only bought it when it was at 50% off.
As you can see, the blue shine it has really is beautiful.

I'm not a fan of the packaging. The cap is quite loose and it doesn't look worth its price.

So here's what's on the bottom of the tube.

and here's a swatch on paper

It really is the Fuchsia lipstick with a cool tone that I was expecting. What I was disappointed about was it isn't as matte as I wanted it too. It's too creamy and it has too much shine. I'm not too much of a fan of the consistency. I think it's too slippery... kinda like butter but it feels thinner. But it's quite long-lasting so that's good!

That's all guys! Can't wait 'til it's the weekend! Haha!

Review : Styli-Style Nano Liner 24

Hey dears!

Don't you just hate it when you buy a product and turns out that it's a complete disappointment?? That it failed to meet even the least of your expectations from it?

Well, I just experienced it from this eyeliner...

Styli-Style Nano Liner 24
Bought it for Php 150.00 last July while it's on sale.

I bought it because I wanted an eyeliner pen that has a fine, thin tip to create a pretty flick when I line my eyes.

The shade is Black. This has a shelf life of 6 months and holds 0.44ml of product.

Here's some product description from Beauty Bar's website:
Styli Style’s products take beauty to the next level for today’s woman on the go. The affordably priced liners, lipsticks and mascaras are made with the finest ingredients that are meant to last- even as long as 24 hours! Everyone can now enjoy gorgeous colors that will keep them looking beautiful day and night.

Too bad there were no available testers when I bought this eyeliner, else, I wouldn't have bought it. I just thought that it would work well since the liquid liner I have from the brand worked well.

Anyway, here's a closeup of the pen:

And below is the swatch:

That's the darkest it could get. It's not buildable so it won't get darker anymore. It's too watery too. I've tried shaking it hard but nothing happens. I am not sure if it's all are like this or I was just unlucky enough to get a defective product.

And the lasting power is awful. I can barely see it after an hour... well, I can barely see it when I apply it in the first place.

I'm just glad that I didn't use much money to buy this or I would have been really pissed off. :/

Well, I guess that's that.
If you own this eyeliner too, please do tell me if it performs the same or if it's only mine that sucks so bad. :P

Have you had any product that disappointed you so much too?

Styli-Style Flat Liquid Liner 24

Hey looooves!

It's my birthday!!!
And since it's quite a busy day for me, I'll just post a quick swatch post on...

Styli-Style Flat Liquid Liner 24
Bought it for Php 150.00 at Beauty Bar.

I got it in black. It is 1.6g and has a shelf life of 2 years.

I bought it because of the unique shape! I thought it would be great in doing the thick liners I usually do especially the filling-up part.
It looks like a felt pen! It actually feels like you're using a felt pen when you apply this.

Here are swatches!
The first two is when you swatch it with the tip only and the one at the bottom is when you apply it all flat.

It's not very bold but it is buildable. It can become very opaque after a few coats. It dries pretty quickly too so no need to close your eyes for a whole minute just to make sure that the line won't transfer to the upper part of the eyelids.

It would have been a great liner for me but it just smudges when my eyelids become oily after a few hours. Oh well. It still comes in handy when I do my makeup experiments. :P

That's all, guys! :D

Styli-Style Liquid Liner in Green

Hey girls!

My sister, Tracy, bought an eyeliner for me when she was here last July.

Styli-Style Liquid Liner in Green

This was on sale and I believe it was only for Php 150.00 (or less) that time.

Below are pics of the labels on the pen.

I think pen type liners are the easiest to use since I think most of us are used to writing with pens. :P It's easy to control and it dries faster than gel or other liquid type liners.

The pen's tip is just like other eyeliner pens I've tried before. I don't think this is anything special to be honest. But what I think makes this kind of interesting for me is that it has really good lasting power.

A swatch on my arm

when rubbed many times

It really stays even after you wash it with water... even with soap! You need a really good makeup remover to make it completely disappear.

Not so sure if this is available in other colors. I wish they do since I doubt that I will use a green liner often. :P

That's all! Happy weekend, guys!

July 2013 Mega Haul

Hey loves!

This is probably the most expensive haul I've ever posted in this blog.
My sis, Trace, is back in the Philippines to celebrate her birthday and also to stock up on makeup because stuff are just too expensive in Sydney.

Most of the items in this post are my sister's. Meaning, I probably won't be able to post reviews (unless she feels like writing one for the blog). She will take all of them back to Sydney too so I can't borrow them. Booo.

So we were in Shangri-La Plaza today to shop (and I attended a blogger event). I think we went all-out crazy shopping but it's super worth it!
I did bought some stuff there... uhhmmm... 3 items I think... So yeah, some stuff you can look forward for a review. Haha!

So here are the items we bought! :D

Phew. That was a lot! This probably totaled to more than 20k. Ackk!! This might sound too much of a splurge but just think that my sis doesn't buy her kikay items in AU because it's more expensive there. These items will last her more than a year for sure. I think these are super worth it!

Anyway, will end this post here. I'm dying to play with the new stuff!!! :)
