Review : Belo Intensive Whitening BB Cream

Hello loves!

It's been a while since I last ordered at Sample Room. A couple of weeks ago, I remembered that I used to check their samples out regularly. And so, I visited their website and I looked at their selections if theres a product that I would like to try. I didn't have much points so I stayed away from brands that are expensive. As I was browsing, one product caught my eye...

'
Belo Intensive Whitening BB Cream

Why? First, it's a BB Cream with SPF 50 and p++++. Since it is summer, I thought it would be a good everyday base for my face. Another reason is that it's within the sample points I have. Lastly, the sample I would get is the full-size product!

I ordered it along with an Olay soap. After only a couple of days, the package arrived to my doorstep! Awesome quick delivery!

I was surprised that the product I received not only contained the BB cream, but also a whitening soap! A nice duo to help lighten skin, especially if you've been exposed too long under the sun due to the summer season (hello beach!).

The duo creates a good combo as seen on the info at the back of the box. The soap helps you whiten skin, while the BB cream helps to protect skin from the sun while it conceals blemishes and evens skin. The BB cream also claims to help whiten skin as well! See info below for more details.

Info on the back of the tube:

Info from the website:

This product for the face even out skin tone with its Tone Correcting Formula, leaving a flawless natural finish. It uses the powerful combination of Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid that is clinically proven to whiten 64% better than products that use Kojic Acid alone. It has SPF 50 and PA++++ that protect skin against age-accelerating UV rays.

Info from Sample Room:
Belo Intensive Whitening BB Cream delivers that instant flawless no makeup look as your skin whitens over time.
Its Tone Correcting formula evens out skin tone and conceals skin imperfections like scars, fine lines, and wrinkles.  Even better, it has the power of Kojic Acid and Tranexamic Acid that over time improves skin clarity, whitens your complexion, and reduces the appearance of stubborn dark spots.
Belo Intensive Whitening BB Cream is also rated SPF 50 & PA++++, protecting your skin against age-accelerating UV rays.

Directions: Use it alone to instantly cover blemishes and imperfections, or layer it under your favorite foundation or powder.

FULL SIZE: 50ml
PRICE: PHP 349.75

The packaging, design-wise is pretty okay. It looks professional because of the fonts and the pearl finish, but it gives a bold and fun vibe because of the orange and the metallic cap. The material is a plastic tube that's easy to squeeze out the product. The nozzle is small so you can control the amount you dispense.

This is the product.

At first I thought that it's pretty light and I was hoping that it was warmer in tone. It says "medium to deep" on the label so I thought that it would be darker in shade. It's not much of a deal because I still think its pretty close to my shade at first glance.

When I lightly spread it, I noticed how lightweight it was. It feels like a mousse-cream combo. No stickiness at all.

When blended on skin, it was very sheer. It reminds me of tinted moisturizers.

See how it performs on my face below:

Your left: Bare face
Your right: With the BB Cream

There was barely any difference actually. It somehow lessen the redness, but the blemish marks are still very visible. I do appreciate, however, the matte natural finish it leaves.

I still use concealer when I wear this to work. It can last the whole day, but do take note that I stay in an air-conditioned room most of the time. The product doesn't help in controlling oil though. I need to blot after 3-4 hours to remove the shine off my face.

I didn't encounter any breakouts nor irritations so far and I can't comment yet if it did help whiten my skin. I haven't seen any difference yet.

What I LIKE:
- Locally available (Pinoy made)
- Affordable
- SPF50 and pa++++
- Natural, matte finish
- Lightweight
- Smells good
- Packaging is okay
- Easy to blend

What I DON'T LIKE:
- This is just me, but I like coverage. It doesn't have to have a heavy one but I would appreciate a bit of concealing. I find this too sheer.

Would I buy again? I don't think so. Like I said, I appreciate some coverage. If you do have good skin, then this might be a good buy for you. The SPF is high enough for a daily sunscreen (I do advise a higher SPF of you'll be outside a long while).

And that's my review of the
Belo Intensive Whitening BB Cream! :)

Unboxing : Special Edition Belo Glamourbox

Hello loves!

It has been a very busy week for me. When I get home, all I want to do is go to bed and sleep. I can barely accomplish other things I want/need to do outside my work. But it's always good to end a week with a surprise from Glamourbox filled with awesome items!

Getting curious? Well, let's go ahead with the unboxing then!

It's the Special Edition Belo Essentials Glamourbox!

It's never early to be ready for summer! Be a beach goddess with these full-sized products from Belo SunExpert and Belo Essentials... And yes, all of them are in FULL SIZES!!! And a box is only Php 595.00.

As you can see on the above list, this was an awesome deal. I got 3x the amount I paid!

So here are pictures of each product included:
Belo SunExpert Face Cover SPF40 - Php 329.75

Belo SunExpert Body Shield SPF60 - Php 459.75

Belo SunExpert Transparent Mist SPF50 - Php 449.75

The three products above will be very handy this summer! Love the high SPF for everyday use! :D

Belo Essentials Whitening Anti-perspirant Deodorant
Aerosole 140ml - Php 179.75
Roll On 40ml - Php 89.75

Have used the roll on before and it's good. With such an affordable price, it controls odor and sweat and didn't cause my underarm further darkening.

Belo Underarm Whitening Cream - Php 799.75

This is something I've been wanting to try for a few months now! I have been searching for affordable ways to lighten the UA and I've read forums that recommended this. Crossing my fingers that this will help my problem!

I'm sooo loving this box. It's my second box from Glamourbox this year and it's another awesome one (click here to check my first box of the year—Snoe box). The UA Whitening Cream alone is worth more than the amount I paid for. And they are all in their full sizes!  This is a really awesome deal! I can now forget the disappointment that is the January-February Saladbox I got a week ago. :P

And before I end this post, I'll just share a quick ballpen sketch of a flower. I drew this while waiting for our office meeting to start. :P

Cheers,

My Top 3 Whitening Soaps: Dermablend, Belo and Cyleina

As a kid, I had the most tanned skin in our bunch. My 7-year old picture (that flagrantly boasts my star complex) above shows I am easily a NC35. Now, the shot beside it taken a week ago presents that I am a stable NC25 ---- light-skinned enough to be mistaken as Chinese (by a Chinese tourist group in Disneyland, California), Japanese (by OFWs in Japan when I was en route to Manila) and Korean (by Koreans in school). My mom is flabbergasted as to why I am whiter than all of my siblings ("Nung pinanganak kita ikaw pinaka-maitim! Bakit ka nagkaganyan?!").

Yes, I've experimented with Glutathione (oral and IV) and DIY bleaching treatments but I've never taken/done these on a regular basis. To keep myself consistently fair-skinned, I have relied on body scrubs and soaps (and lotions if I remember to put them on).

Anyway, these are my favorite soaps which I have been repurchasing over and over for the past years:

1. Dermablend Papaya Orange Skin Whitening Soap

This is the "Sam Milby Soap" - I always forget the name of this brand, so I always tell people who ask me what soap I use to buy the one with Sam Milby on the cover! This product allows for mild micropeeling and never fails to help whiten scars and exfoliate the body. The orangey scent is lovely, too. It can be a bit drying though, so I alternate with Belo. I buy mine in bulk at the grocery. I've tried the other orange/papaya soaps (Likas Papaya, Silka, Kojic, etc) but I always go back to this one.

2. Belo Essentials Smoothening Whitening Body Bar

I like the pink variant because it whitens and moisturizes at the same time. This soap actually provides no micropeeling and no significant whitening if used on its own, so I find it effective only when used after exfoliating soaps (like the "Sam Milby Soap" and Cyleina). The scent is very pleasant as well! Plus, I love it when Belo goes on sale at the local department/grocery store, because you can get three for the price of two!

3. Cyleina Organic Rice Bran Soap

This one I like not because it whitens, but because it exfoliates VERY WELL. I get itchy when I use it daily, so I limit myself to thrice a week at night (and lotion after)! My sister Dawn adores this soap - even considers it her HG "magic" soap - since it's very good at controlling bacne. I find it helps with eliminating ingrown hair too. So in a way, good exfoliation leads to better whitening results! Use a good whitening/smoothening lotion and you're good to go. You can find multiply sellers everywhere to buy Cyleina.

Cheers,
Trace

PS. So as to appease any possibility of mestiza-mentality-debate here in the blog - please take this post lightly. I don't have a problem if anyone else's preference is different from mine. I just happen to think I look better with fairer skin as opposed to being morena (in the same light that I prefer my hair straight over curly). OK? Peace out, folks. And do try the soaps, I hope they work for you. =)
