The Body Shop Lily Cole Shimmer Cubes Palette 24

Hello dearies!

Here's a quick post regarding the palette I got from an event by The Body Shop a couple of months ago. This is actually my favorite among the items in the goodie bag! :P

The Body Shop Lily Cole Shimmer Cubes Palette 24

It is my favorite because eyeshadows are my most-loved makeup in general. That is because that's where you can exercise your creativity in the highest extent when it comes to doing makeup.

Details at the back of the palette.

I actually have a shimmer cube palette from TBS too but of different shades. This palette definitely has a big amount of product. I haven't even reached the half of my old palette even if I use it a lot.

The packaging a bit different from the old palette though since the cover is connected to the palette. But it still has the same transparent casing and same size.

The shades included are all blendable together composing of pinks and purples.

BTW, I think I've ruined the formation in this picture. It's not in the order that is written at the back. Sorry.
Shades are (clockwise from upper left corner) : Think Pink, Tint in Pink, Live Lilac, and Go Violet

Swatch on paper

Swatch on hand

They are very pigmented, huh?

I use them all together to create this look:

The resident MUA in The Body Shop MOA, Morning, liked what I did with my eyeshadow. I already posted an FOTD post regarding this look a few weeks ago. To see the rest of my makeup that day, click here.

Back to the palette, it is pigmented, the shades are shimmery, and I do believe it is wearable. Some might say that the plum shades can be aging but I think it's actually on the way you apply it on your lids.

Staying power is so-so. I recommend you use a good eyeshadow primer for this because mine creases over time around 4 hours because of my oily lids so having a trusty primer is necessary for me when I use this palette.

I don't really know the price of this but I will update this post when I get the chance to drop by a TBS store. :)

Have you tried this palette yet? What do you think about it?

Cheers!

Review : The Body Shop Lily Cole Lip & Cheek Dome in Pinch Me Pink

 Hello lovelies!

I know that some of you asked us to create a post regarding this as soon as I blogged about the Limited Edition Lily Cole Makeup Line from The Body Shop. Sorry if it took us a while but here it is!!!

The Body Shop Lily Cole Lip & Cheek Dome in Pinch Me Pink

BTW, before I proceed with the review, the Lip& Cheek Dome is also available in another shade, Crazy for Coral. Something the peach lovers would enjoy.

Anyway, I got this along with some other Lily Cole Makeup Range during the introduction of the Pulse Store of The Body Shop at SM Mall of Asia.

Here's a description of the product from the Press Release:
 Lip & Cheek Dome
A creamy gel in an easy-to-use, innovative dome
format can be applied directly onto cheeks or onto lips.
Available in Pinch Me Pink and Crazy For Coral.
It's also Lily Cole's favorite from the range. :)

I'm not really into cream or gel blushes... I don't even like cheek tints. That is because I have oily skin and these products don't stay long on me. So this wasn't really something that I was excited about when I saw the range. :P

The packaging is cute and quite unique. It really is a dome and the label is very feminine with all the pinks and the cursive font.

When I opened the cap, I thought the pink dome was removable. Turns out, it's actually the product! Haha! Sure fooled me because of it's uber shininess! Haha!

It doesn't have a scent and it's not sticky as well.

Pinch Me Pink has a bright pink tone as seen in the following swatches:

 On Paper

 Swiped with my fingers

On my arm

The product is quite sheer too. I needed to apply the product over and over to make it visible enough on my cheeks.

 On my cheek

It gives a very healthy pink glow on my lips too.

 On my lips

I rather use it as a lippie than a blush. Hahaha! I like the results on my lips better. :P

Used it as a blush and lippie in this picture.

It's very easy to use since you can just apply it directly onto skin. No need to use brushes or other makeup applicators. The thing I don't like about it is since it's cream/gel type, the foundation I have on mixes with it. It really turns me off, especially because it kind of looks unhygienic too. I don't have the gorgeous skin that doesn't need at least some BB cream or foundation on so I really don't like that the product mixes with them.

The lasting power, as I've mentioned before, isn't that good on me since I have oily skin. I'm just not to sure for those who have normal or dry skin.

I also didn't encounter any allergic reaction or any breakouts when I use this.

So to sum it all up!

LIKES:
♥ Comes in 2 shades
♥ Easy to use
♥ Pretty packaging
♥ No annoying scent
♥ Non-sticky
♥ No breakouts or allergies
♥ Cruelty-free
♥ Kind of affordable
♥ Locally available

DISLIKES:
♥ Mixes with my foundie
♥ Doesn't stay long on my skin
♥ Too sheer for me
♥ I generally am not a fan of cream or gel type blushes

Will I buy again?
Nope. Still sticking to powder blushes for me.
It just doesn't suit my oily skin. Though I do believe this would work better with people who have normal skin. Do let me know if you have that skin type and you're using this. :P

Have you tried The Body Shop Lily Cole Lip & Cheek Dome in Pinch Me Pink yet? How about Crazy for Coral? Do you like other products from the TBS Lily Cole line?

Cheers!

FOTD : Pink Revolution

 Hey guys!

The last two weeks had been sad for me due to the really bad weather and some unexpected events that happened.
To distract myself from all of these issues, I turn to something I find pleasure in doing -- Makeup! I really wasn't planning on going anywhere. I just wanted to pamper and prettify myself today.

I was digging through my makeup stash and saw the products that The Body Shop gave me, mainly the All-In-One Makeup and Lily Cole Makeup line, and I had this idea to do a look using all of those.

It's quite a simple and wearable look actually. I got the idea from the press kit they gave me.

I own most of the products mentioned in that look which made it easy for me to do it.

Makeup Used:

The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Dome Blush in Pinch Me Pink
The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes Palette 24
The Body Shop Puff On Radiance

The Body Shop All-In-One Concealer in 02
The Body Shop Face Base in 035

 Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
Etude House Drawing Eye Brow in Brown
Etude House Color My Brows in 3
Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara
Wet 'N Wild ColorIcon Eyeliner in Amethyst
In2It Liquid Eyeliner in Purple
Maybelline Lip Polish in Purple Passion

Here are some closeup photos of my eye makeup:

 And more vain photos!!!

It's such a sweet look. I even paired it with my favorite pink headband! Haha!
It's quite easy to do and I felt like a little pretty pink princess while taking pics. Haha!

Anyway, I just wish that this typhoon would leave the PH soon and will not cause more heavy rains. It's getting quite depressing already.

Keep safe guys!

Cheers!

Review : The Body Shop Lily Cole Pearl Radiance Primer

 Hi guys! :D

My face makeup is very important to me. If you've been reading my blog for a while now, you'd know that I usually have full makeup on. I have acne-prone skin and I really hate seeing pimples and pimple marks on my face when I go out. So besides looking for a foundation with a very good coverage and oil control, I also want them to last!

I do have some of those foundations and BB creams that last a long while but why not pump their lasting power more by using primers, right?
I have tried and reviewed a few makeup primers and recently, I have been fond of trying different ones out. Some I bought, some were given to me. Most of them gave positive results and I want to share them with you. I even have around 3 more pending reviews of different primers to post. :P

For today's post, it's all about...
The Body Shop Lily Cole Pearl Radiance Primer

This one was given to me during the opening of The Body Shop's Pulse Store in MOA.
During that event, the Lily Cole Makeup Collection was also introduced to us.

What's good about the makeup collection is it's cruelty-free which means it was never tested on animals... and that it is mostly pinks and purples! ♥

The primer costs Php1,295.00.

What the product says:

These radiant, light-diffusing pearls give skin a pure radiance. Use them before you use your
foundation or just on its own. In just one step, your skin is hydrated and your complexion perfected.

Perfect and illuminate your complexion with this pearlescent make-up base. It gets its shimmer from mineral mica.

  ♥  Adds radiance
♥   Use before foundation or alone
♥   Dermatologically tested
 ♥   Gives a flawless finish
♥    Limited edition
The first time I saw the bottle, I thought it looked very pretty with all the pink pearls. I even thought that it was just a design because I was looking at it from a few feet away. When I heard that the pearls really come out to add shimmer, I was surprised! It made me so excited to try the product out! :)

So on with my review...

The product comes in a pump dispenser. I like it because it is easy to take out the product and that it is very hygienic. The bottle is clear too so you can see how much of the product is left.

Here's what it look like when you pump the product out:
It doesn't really look like what I expected honestly... I thought it would look prettier. :P

It has a scent. I can't be specific of what it smells like... it's not annoying but it's not something I'd like... best adjective I can think of is it smells clean. :P

My main issue when I swatched it was the blending part. It was tedious to blend since you have to rub it over and over because the shimmers are clumped together.

Here's what it looked like after blending.
The shimmers are very fine and when topped with a foundation or BB cream, give a subtle, radiant finish on your skin.

The pearl shimmers stick to my fingers too when I blend it. I tried using a brush but it doesn't help at all. But you still get good results on your face anyway so this isn't really an issue. :)

It dries on your skin fast so no long waiting time for it to set.
I use this under my BB cream and a setting powder and I still see a few of those fine pearl shimmers that made my skin look glowing which I really like. It made my makeup last longer too. ♥

I would like it to have more oil control though. Compared to some of my primers, it doesn't help my oily skin. It doesn't minimize pores either. :P

LIKES:

♥ Shimmers are very fine
♥ Love the packaging
♥ Makes my makeup last longer
♥ Cruelty-free
♥ Locally Available
♥ Pearly, radiant finish

DISLIKES:
♥ Can be quite expensive
♥ Tedious to blend on skin
♥ I prefer more oil control and pore minimizing primers

This primer, I believe, is more suitable for people who have clearer skin than I do because they can wear it alone or with less makeup on which can make the pearly shimmers more visible that make their skin more radiant because it won't be blocked off by the coverage of foundations (especially the ones I use since I prefer heavy coverage foundies).

So would I buy this again? No and the reason is what I stated above.
It's a good primer but not for my skin type.
