I like wearing liquid concealers under my eyes to hide dark circles and lessen the appearance of my eye bags. I just feel that liquid concealers feel more lightweight and easier to blend whether I use my fingers or a makeup brush.

Just last Monday evening, I had a difficult time trying to sleep. I went to bed a few minutes past 11pm and at around 2:30 am, I was still awake. According to my Fitbit app, I slept 2:46 am. I rarely get those difficulty sleeping attacks so I tried tracing the reason why I had it and the only thing I can think of is the matcha latte I drank at around 5:30 pm. Oh well.

And since that was the case, the morning after the incident, while I was getting ready to go to work, I noticed my eye bags are more puffy and under eyes were darker than normal. Ugh. Good thing I like wearing makeup so I know that I have something in my stash to help me look less tired and sleepless.

One of the products I considered and actually used is the...

So as mentioned, it's a kit that contains a balm that acts like an eye moisturizer that helps moisturize and reduce puffiness, and an eye foundation that will help make your under eyes appear lighter.

So the balm is colorless and light. It's mildly scented too and non-sticky. It may look like petroleum jelly, but do not worry because it is lightweight.

It spreads smoothly on skin although it takes a few minutes for it to set on my skin. Sometimes I do not wait for it to dry and just add the eye foundation on top of it immediately. I don't see any difference in the effects if I wait or not anyway.

This is the eye foundation. I was curious as to why they only call it "foundation" instead of the usual "concealer." Apparently, the coverage is pretty light! My guess is that since Celeteque is a skin care brand first, the priority here is to keep your skin hydrated and make sure it can still breathe even under their cosmetics. So maybe it's better to keep things light than pile on so much pigments and other ingredients...? That's just my theory though and I just feel like concealer is more concentrated compared to foundations. . What do you think?

These are the swatches. On the left is the eye foundation alone and on the right is with the balm. The balm doesn't alter the shade which is a good thing.

The eye foundation has a light to medium coverage. It didn't entirely cover the darkness under the eyes but it did brighten it. The concealer is buildable but the difference is not much and I don't think it's a good idea to apply too much product around the eye area because that's a sensitive area. If you have darker under eyes but you still want to use this, better have a corrector handly for better coverage and skin tone match.

I appreciate that this doesn't cake nor crease and as mentioned, it feels lightweight. It's a great everyday product. You don't look too made up, but still look fresh and healthy! 

And that's all I can say about this product. Thoughts?

StudioMakeup Eye Brightening Illuminator in Silk

Just doing yet another one of my swatch posts. Haha!

I've always had eye bags. If you see some of my pictures when I was young (like toddler young), you'd see those bags under my eyes. The good thing is that they aren't that dark. But it does make a lot of difference when I put concealer or illuminator on my under eyes. It lessens the size of the bags and at the same time, it makes me look more awake and my eyes brighter.

I like the simple and sleek packaging. It actually reminds me of a UniPin drawing pen. :P This is a twist up brush pen. 

It has a synthetic brush and you twist the bottom to get the product out.

The bristles are soft and smooth that makes applying pretty easy. The amount dipensed when you twist it up is also easy to control.

Here's how it looks like.

When blended, it becomes matte and it provides light to medium coverage.

Here's how my under eye looks like bare.

I usually wear this around my under eye but for this post, I spread it up to my cheeks. I only apply this much when I want to look more glam and made up.

When blended it makes my eye look more bright and awake. It covered the dark areas pretty well and it looks very natural. I also use this to enhance the brow bone so that my brows look better. The shade is pretty close to my skin so I can't treat this as something that "illuminates" my skin.

It's a pretty good product, but I find it expensive. I just got it on sale that's why I bought it, but I think I can get under eye concealers that have the same effect that costs less.

And that's all I can say about the StudioMakeup Eye Brightening Illuminator in Silk. Thoughts?

Happy Skin Eye Need A Miracle Corrector

Good evening ladies,

It has been a while since I bought a concealer. The one currently inhabiting my make-up stash is Benefit Erase Paste and for a while now, I find that it no longer serves as a good concealer for me as I start noticing difference in color tone. So I asked Dawn to help me out.

Last year, Dawn gave a review on Happy Skin's Eye Need A Miracle Concealer, but she recommended I try the corrector instead. So here is my experience with the corrector.

There is only one shade for this here and that is 01 Salmon.

This is near peach in color as compared to the concealer which is more yellow in color.

The consistency is not very creamy but is easy to blend. It has a good coverage so I usually need only a half pea sized amount to cover my whole under eye area.

Here is my eye before application.

Here it is after. It has evened out the color of my under eye. Since it's nearer to my tone, it has covered the dark circles better than my long time concealer.

And since it has done quite a good job with my dark circles, I started trying it out with my pimple marks and spots of redness around my cheeks

Here is my cheek without.

Here it is with. Sorry if the angle is different, but it has decreased the discoloration around my cheeks and has hidden much of the specks of redness I have around this area.

I also noticed that this product has fine sparkly finish which I think helps in lessening dullness. Probably why I feel like my face looks like it's glowing.

I might start looking into more products from Happy Skin. I am super satisfied with the coverage offered by this product that I started ignoring my old concealer. It's also a plus point that it's in a tube and is travel-friendly (I just love everything travel friendly).

I hope this was informative, it's been a while since I wrote any reviews and also since I've tried any new products.

My sister got me a new under eye concealer. Lately, I have been trying out different brands to see what works great on my eye bags and dark circles. I've tried good ones like the one from Clinique, but I wanna try some more and that's why I love that my sis got me this.

Laura Mercier High Coverage Concealer For Under Eye

A unique 3-in-1 concealer that covers, de-puffs, and brightens dark under eye circles. The highly pigmented formula builds and blends flawlessly for professional makeup artist results. Formulated with honey, vitamin E and fruit acid to nourish and smooth skin. A little goes a long way and lasts all day.

The 12 shades correspond to the existing Secret Concealer range for easy matching.

Dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested for use on all skin types, and safe for contact lens wearers.

8 mL/ 0.27 FL OZ

USAGE:

Prep the undereye area with a hydrating eye cream and/or eye serum prior to concealer application. Then, apply concealer to undereye area using finger in a “press and roll motion”.

Remember to just use a “pin drop” – a little goes a long way. For precise application, use the Secret Camouflage Brush, applying with a feather-like stroke.

It's available in 12 colors.

The shade that I have, no. 4, is pretty dark on my skin because my sister has tanned skin right now. It still looks fine when I wear it since I top it off with powder that's near to my skin color.

It's housed in a tube which is a preference of mine when it comes to liquids besides a pump-up bottle. It's hygienic and you can easily control the amount you dispense.

The product is a thick liquid but still easy to spread. I was surprised at how pigmented it is.

I even thought that it may be too thick for the under eyes... Anyway, check out how it works on my eyes...

It easily concealed the dark circles which is great! I do wish that the concealer isn't dark so that it could have brighten my eyes more. It's not too visible on the pictures, maybe it's because of the lighting on my dressing table... The puffiness of my bags is still a problem though... but this has been there since I was born. Haha!

I've also tried this on my friend, Stacie, who I did a makeover on a month ago.

This really works great in concealing but I must advice you to have a well moisturized skin, especially on the under eye area before using this. This will surely make the dryness of the skin more visible. I have oily skin and I always apply eye cream before sleep and a thin layer before I apply makeup so I don't encounter any creases or caking. So yeah, this works great on me and I have no bad experience with it. If you have dry skin, better test it first at an LM counter to see how it will work on you. :)

The shade I bought is Butter. I think this only comes in one shade.

There is another product, the Eye Need a Miracle Corrector that is more peachy in tone and as the name states, it corrects the dark coloration of your under-eyes and helps in evening them to your complexion. Maybe if you have very dark eye circles, you can use them before the concealer? I would have to check their counters and try that first though.

So let's go with the design first...

Love the Happy Skin packaging! It's simple and cute filled with basic colors and shapes. 

Anyway, here are the important details labeled on the packaging:

The product is housed in a tube. You only squeeze it and you easily get the product out. I think this kind of concealer is very hygienic compared to those in pots, palettes, and pen types because you don't have to dip your fingers and brushes in the containers or on the product itself.

The product is a very warm shade. It's actually quite light but it does say that it is self adjusting. To me, it does a good job blending on my skin but I am not sure how well it would work with people who have darker skin.

The consistency is thick but not so creamy compared to some of the under-eye concealers I've tried before. But blending is still easy so no worries.

The coverage is quite good. It's medium and you can build the coverage up by applying more.

It feels light on skin which I really appreciate. I hate too thick and creamy concealers, especially on the eye area.

It concealed the dark areas and it also brightened them. Yay!
And what's even better is that it doesn't crease on the lines around my eyes and it stays all day on me but I do use primers and top it off with powder which can lengthen the staying power of this product. :) 

Overall, I really like this concealer! It's effective and not too expensive. Plus, I just love that this is a Pinoy brand!
