Etude House Sweet Recipe Chocolate Highlighter

Good evening ladies,

I own only 1 highlighter and haven't bought any others as I'm not quite sure what color would be right for me. So when I told Dawn that, she gave me this to try. So here's a short review coming from a high lighter noob for noobs like me. :)

I have to say, this specific collection is quite appealing to me, I mean, food concept. Just makes me want to get more.

Moving on... The palette is not intimidating to use and since it's like three colors in one, you can adjust the blending however you want.

Though I usually just use all of them at once and have not really tried using the individual colors by themselves. I do think that blending them all together helps in making your high light look more natural than just a patch of shimmering white cast on your face.

But for the sake of showing you them individually, here's a swatch of it.

I do believe it's a good investment as the packaging contains quite a lot of the product so at Php 778, you'd be able to buy one that can last you for at least 2 years. Since I use this high lighter so sparingly, it looks as if it's barely been touched. I usually put it at the high point of my cheek and only there as my T-zone is prone to oiling up quick and I really don't want to look like a frying pan.

So that's it for this short noob review of this very nice highlighter.

Review : Etude House Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base

Hi loves!

I'm currently loving makeup primers/bases right now. They just make my look better in terms of finish and lasting power. Though you have to be careful of which product you use since I believe one has a different effect depending on your foundation/ BB cream you use or even your skin type.

Anyway, I received these two bases from Etude House during their Sweet Recipe Launch and I have to admit, these are really good! I'm in-love with them! I think these are my favorite products from their Sweet Recipe Line!

Etude House Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base

This is Php 678.00 each and is available in 3 shades - Mint Choux, Berry Choux and Peach Choux.

Has SPF25 and PA++. A jar carries 25g of the product.

The box it comes with is just too cute! 

The ones I have and will be sharing my thoughts on in this post are the mint choux and peach choux shades.

And the packaging is gorgeous! I don't think I can throw it away when I used up all the product! Though this can be bulky and a bit heavy if you intend on carrying one around in your bag. I do wish they have a spatula since dipping your fingers in the jar isn't quite sanitary.

Mint Choux - For those with redness on the skin usually from acne or some skin irritations.

Peach Choux - Ideal for warm toned skin. 

Both of them differ in scent (mint and peach) but are both sweet! I loooove how they smell like. But no worries for those who do not like scents in their face products, for the fragrance these products have are barely noticeable when applied.

They are very creamy but lightweight. Easy to spread and blend!

Below are pictures of my cheek before and after application (I used Mint Choux):

The redness is gone and my face, brightened! It even covered some of my acne scars!

All the shades have almost the same effect. They offer a bit of coverage, they brighten/whiten the skin, gives a dewy glow, somehow conceal pores for a smoother looking skin especially when a foundation/ BB cream is applied on top. Just be careful on how much product you put since too much can make you look super pale.

It doesn't do much on oil control but I usually wear a foundie that has that, so no biggie for me. These bases help my foundie/ BB cream look better and stay longer without caking! Though the peach and the berry choux can be worn alone (I think the mint one can make you look too pale on its own even in small amounts).

You bet I will! But I guess these two will last me a long while. I surely recommend it to all those who have dull skin who needs an instant radiant finish and extra glow. It really is one of the best makeup bases I've tried so far. :D

Review : Etude House Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color

Hello loves!

Are you someone who is practical and would rather use products that have multiple uses?

Then you might like these products from Etude House!

Etude House Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color

I got these three products from their launch a month ago.

These are Php 378.00 each.

According to the press release, these products are:

"Cream textured color for lips, cheek and eye in delicious cupcake designs."

Besides them being cased in these super cute cupcake looking packagings, they also have these pretty sweet scents (each has a different one depending on the shade) that I'm absolutely loving! The scent is mild so no need to worry much for those who prefer unscented products.

The shades I will be showing you are (from left to right):

Strawberry Chiffon Cake, Peach Sugar Cake, and Orange Choux Cake

Strawberry Chiffon Cake

I tried applying it as my eyeshadow but as you can see in the picture, you barely see much difference. I guess it will suit those with fair skin.

I also tried using it on my lips... but the result is verging on horrendous on me. I'm so disappointed that it looked that way on me that I don't have the courage to post it on my blog. Yikes! 

BUT this shade has a redeeming factor... It's a really gorgeous blush!!

In the above picture, I have the product as my eyeshadow and blush. I used a different lipstick just so I look, well, good. :P

Peach Sugar Cake

This shade is a pretty peach shade that I can probably wear on a daily basis. I like the finish on me as an eyeshadow, blush and lippie.

It gives a natural finish on me - simple and natural! :P

Orange Choux Cake

This is probably my favorite of the three. Why? Because it gives the summer vibe. Warm and pretty - perfect for the season!

It's fresh and something I don't have in my stash yet so I enjoy using this a lot.

So what else do these Etude House Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Colors offer? 

I believe that besides having multiple uses, it gives the dewy, radiant look on you. It gives the right amount of color, especially on your cheeks, that won't look so overpowering even if you accidentally add too much amount of it. These also never gave irritations nor breakouts.

One downside of this is that it tends to crease as an eyeshadow and lippie. That's why I use this mainly as a blush and only occasionally as a lippie. Another thing I don't like is that it isn't long lasting, even as a blush. You can make the lasting power longer if you top it off with a translucent powder but that would kill the dewy effect of it. Also, this doesn't come with an applicator. You can use your fingers but that's unsanitary. Please do make use of makeup brushes.

Overall, these products are good. Especially if you are an on-the-go person, these will really come in handy. I do think this is more suited for those with dry-normal skin.

This is also available in 2 other shades: Blueberry Cheesecake and Raspberry Mousse Cake.

Etude House Sweet Recipe Dear My Jelly Lips-Talk in JBE101

Hey beauties!

Are you a fan of translucent lipsticks?
I'm very much in-love with bold colors that I barely have any lipsticks that are on the sheer side right now.

So anyway, I got this lipstick from an event by Etude House a few weeks back... 

Etude House Sweet Recipe Dear My Jelly Lips-Talk in JBE101

This is at Php478.00.

Jelly textured lipstick supplies moist shine and sweet colors for long wear comfort.

•Bilberry, Sugar Cane, Sugar Maple, Orange and Lemon extracts

•Translucent Colors

•Fruit Jelly Fragrance

•Moist Shine & Jelly Bean Texture

As seen in the descriptions above, this lippie is translucent so I wasn't really looking forward on using this.

And it's yellow.
When I saw that it was yellow, I first thought that it must be one of those magic lipsticks that changes color after application. But it's not. So thank goodness that it is translucent or else I don't think I can casually wear yellow lips. :P

This lipstick smells so good! It smells like a lemon-flavored jellybean! Yummmm! 
It doesn't taste like it though. There's barely any taste actually. And there's also a lovely engraved design on the lipstick bullet though you can barely see it in this picture. I think it looks nice as well as the packaging. SUPER CUTE!

It does give a moist finish. It looks like it's just water.

Bare lips

With the product

It really gives an instant shine. My lips look very moisturized... It doesn't just give the moisturized-effect on your lips but also moisturize them as well! It also leaves a few shimmery/glittery effect too. There are fine glitters in it! This also has a buttery feel to it so it glides quickly to the lips.

Since this doesn't leave any color on my lips, I think this is more like a lip balm and lipgloss in one. The other shades give better color - now those I can say are lipstick, lip balm, and lipgloss in one. This lipstick range is available in 6 shades. 

So what do I think about it?
This particular shade, I'm not a fan of. Probably because it doesn't give any color. It's just a plain lip balm with a very watery effect... a quite expensive one at that for a lip balm. But I'm willing to try the other shades, especially the JPK002. :P

NOTD : Etude House Sweet Recipe Ice Cream Nails

Hello, everyone!

Do you love nail arts like I do?

It can be expensive if you get it from salons and quite time consuming if you do it on your own. But good news! Etude House's new makeup collection has a great set of new polishes that can give an instant nail art finish on your nails!

Just look at my nails now!

Cute, huh?

I used these polishes:

Etude House Sweet Recipe Ice Cream Nails

The packaging is just so cute!

They really look like those cute ice cream cones. 

Even the finish looks like ice cream!

The blue one's like a blue cookies and cream or bubblegum flavor with round marshmallows and the yellow one looks like mango/cheese flavor with lots of sprinkles!

I applied 3 coats to achieve this solid color. But 2 coats is enough if you have shorter nails.

These nail polishes comes in 4 shades too.

Not quite sure how much each is yet but I'll try to drop by one of their stores once they're out late this March so I can try out the other two. :)

Etude House 2013 Spring Makeup Collection - Sweet Recipe

Hey guys!

It's Monday again!

I know most of us dread this day of the week but let's lighten up the mood by taking a look on Etude House's 2013 Spring Makeup Collection called, Sweet Recipe!

I attended an event launch on this last Wednesday wherein I got some of the items in the collection which I shall share my thoughts on in future reviews so I'm hoping you'll stay tuned for that!

The collection is actually inspired from the Brothers Grimm Classic Fairy Tale, "Hansel and Gretel." 

 The makeups in this collection are all pastel colors which are the trend for this year's Spring season as shown in the looks of the new models for the brand, Krystal and Sulli of f(X). (Dara, I will soooo miss you as EH's endorser)

What I like most about this collection is the packaging! The motifs are desserts and candies! Yummy, right?

Here are the products included in the collection with corresponding description and some of my thoughts about them:

 This is probably the product I am most interested in. It smells great too!

Dear My Jelly Lips

 These are translucent in color and very moisturizing!

 Not much of a fan of cream makeup but the colors are lovely!
