Witch's Pouch Selfie Like Shot Dual Lipstick in 03 Selfie Coral and Red

Hey dolls!

Still looking for a dual-toned lipstick that is much more affordable than the popular one from Laneige? Here's one that I discovered from my officemate a few months back...

Witch's Pouch Selfie Like Shot Dual Lipstick

You can get this for only PhP 280.00 from Althea.ph. Original price was PhP 750.00!

The shade I'll be sharing is Selfie Coral and Red. It's actually my officemate's, but I find it too pretty so I'd like to share it with you. My friend even let me try it first! Haha!

Anyway, here's the product detail from the packaging. I really appreciate that they include english descriptions. :)

The expiration date is also indicated.

More photos and swatches of the two other shades are available at the Althea website.

The packaging is simple. I like the black classy container with a few quirky design like the stripes and the witch hat. I also like the font chosen—plain but not too serious.
The shape in non-bulky which makes it an easy travel buddy!

Speaking of traveling, since this is two-toned, you get to bring two shades already! Although I don't think I can wear the coral alone as it is too bright and light.
Just see the swatches below.

When swatched once.
See the color payoff? It's pretty good!

When blended, it gives a smooth gradient finish. The combination looks nice. It gives me a cute but sexy feel.

On my lips

I find that this kind of lippie makes dry lips more obvious... like the flakiness or chappy parts more visible. But if you moisturize and maybe some help with a lip scrub, it would look really nice. The formula is moisturizing. It feels like I'm wearing lip balm.

What I like most about this is how easy it is to create the gradient finish. I like the shape of the bullet and how the red shade is thinner than the coral.

Overall, I think it's a good addition to the kikay kit, especially if you're into Korean makeup.

What are your thoughts on the Witch's Pouch Selfie Like Shot Dual Lipstick in 03 Selfie Coral and Red?

L'Oreal Color Riche Pure Reds Star Collection Lipstick in Pure Amaranth

Hey dears!

My mom received a gift months before and it was a lipstick. Since I'm a pakialamerang anak (meddlesome daughter) to her beauty products, I took... errr borrowed it to post swatches! LOL

L'Oreal Color Riche Pure Reds Star Collection Lipstick in Pure Amaranth

The shade is like the signature red lipstick of the L'Oreal ambassador, Gong Li. Other shades are available with the signature of the featured ambassador.

It's actually the first and only lipstick from the range that I've tried, unfortunately. I remember some months ago that so many bloggers posted about the lipsticks.

Anyway, below's the product description from BeautyMNL. I tried finding it on the brand's website but I guess the shade is phased out or not available anymore...?

CLAIM TO FAME: L’Oreal’s special red lipstick line under its renowned Color Riche collection

FAST FACTS: Delivers opaque coverage with pure color pigments; hydrates lips with jojoba oil; long-lasting formula won’t budge or smudge

PERFECT FOR: Your everyday red lipstick

SPECIFICATIONS

WHAT YOU GET: (1) tube Color Riche Collection Star Red

NET WEIGHT: 4.2g

INGREDIENTS: Dimethicone, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Phenyl Trimethicone, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Ozokerite, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Isostearyl Isostearate, Kaolin, Isohexadecane, Vinyl, Dimethicone /Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Alumina, Nylon-12, Polyethylene, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Geraniol, Bht, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Benzyl Alcohol, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Magnesium Silicate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Silica, Tin Oxide, Methyl-2-Octynoate, Parfum/Fragrance

How to Use
Apply starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to outer edges of your lips, following the contour of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.

The shade is not something that I would consider red. It's fuchsia or magenta to my eyes... I think it's closer to pink than red (L'Oreal has a different range for their Color Riche pink shades).

It's still beautiful. My mom doesn't wear it much because she finds it too intense. She thinks she looks like a flamingo. Haha!

So that's the swatch. You can see how intense the pigment is in one swipe!

The color looks beautiful and it has an amazing lasting power. And it doesn't make my lips dry! Awesome! I can imagine the beautiful Gong Li rocking this shade. And I do believe that the shade looks good on me too. ;)

What are your thoughts on the L'Oreal Color Riche Pure Reds Star Collection Lipstick in Pure Amaranth?

Shiseido Shimmering Rouge in RD601

Hello gorgeous!

Remember one of my holiday haul post where I mentioned my sister, Trace's gift to me?
Well, I'll be sharing with you one of the products included in that special set.

Shiseido Shimmering Rouge in RD601

It's included in this Shiseido gift set wherein you get all these for only Php 3,500.00 (Regular price of the items will amount to Php 5.4k+) if you buy products that are worth at least Php 2,000.00. And the great thing about this promo is you get to choose the shades of the items in the set!

You also get a free metallic, gold bag.

It's quite roomy and big enough to store makeup, skincare, and other personal belongings in when you travel.

And it looks really elegant too! :)

So going back to the lipstick...

I picked this shade because I just LOVE red lipsticks. It's not a shade of red that I have in my stash so that's a big plus. I like the dark red vibe for the holidays. It's not as eye catching as the red color of MAC Ruby Woo, but this has that seductive look. You'll know why when you see the swatches below. ;)

So here are the labels on the box:

Regular price of this lippie is Php 1,250.00.

More info from the website:

Shimmering Rouge

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

DESCRIPTION:

Full brilliance. Sheer color.
Sheer, brilliant color infuses lips with lasting moisture and fullness. Lips have never looked so all-day sensuous.

COLOR VARIATIONS

Roll over shades to preview, then click to select.

This is available in 20 shades (more or less).
And I don't think you can call this shade sheer. LOL But I have swatched some of the lipstick while in the store and some are indeed sheer. :P

LOVE the packaging. So sleek and classy and it's sort of thin! Consumes only a small space in my kikay kit.

I love the shape of the lipstick which makes it easier to hold and the thin bullet makes it easy for me to apply this on my lips in great shape.

Here's a closeup of the bullet.

Swatch on my hand.

It's a little darker than Ruby Woo and... well, it's not matte. I compare this to MAC Ruby Woo just because it's my favorite red lipstick. :P

Bare lips

with the product

Lasting power is pretty good. It doesn't cause drying and it glides on the lips easily! I really, really love this product and I'd love to get more shades... if only it were more affordable for me. LOL

So what do you think of Shiseido Shimmering Rouge in RD601? Do you have other shades from the brand that you can recommend?

NOTD : Birthday Flowers on Red

Hey dearies!

Last Saturday was my birthday celebration at My Pretty Nails Salon. You can check out what happened during my special celebration here.

And in my party, my guests and I had manicures and pedicures with premium polishes or nail art! Of course I got the me some nail art!!! Rawr!

Here's the design I picked:
Pretty, huh??????
I soooooo love it! It reminds me of Japanese art for some reason. What do you think?

Below are the nail polishes used for this design:

The design was manually done! Super thanks to Marge who did my nails. :D

For the base, we used this very beautiful base color—China Glaze in High Maintenance!

and then painted the design on top. It's actually easy to do. Just a fine brush and a dotter and you can do it! :D

And tadaaaaa...
Super nice, don't you think so too?!

I super love it and my friends in the party liked it too!

I think it suits my personality a lot and the color is just the exact shade as my favorite lipstick—MAC Ruby Woo!

What do you think of the design?
Would you do something like this, if you will, do share them with me! :D

Review: Too Cool for School: Hot Girl Lip Sticker in #5 Real Red

Good evening ladies,

Remember that a while back we went shopping at this new Korean Make-up store, Too Cool for School. Unfortunately for me, I was only able to purchase one lipstick... but anyway since I have a huge lack of red lipsticks (I tend to buy nude shaded ones or light pink ones)... I decided to try their red lipstick.

It's a little heavy on the budget, it cost me around  Php 435 and I wasn't really all that excited about it since I found it to be quite, short... and on first try, it didn't look very impressive. But I decided to buy it because I wanted a matte red lipstick and the color wasn't that bad on my lips as well.

Here's a picture of the product and packaging.

Here's a picture of my lips sans the lipstick.

Swatch of the lipstick on my hand.

And here it is applied with a lip brush, one coat only, unblotted... was too lazy to run another coat.

Anyway, the more you build it up the more red it becomes. The product did not disappoint me though, it lasted for the whole day. I wore it on my duty and did not retouch it for 12 plus hours and it was still pretty bold and red at the end of the day... here's a picture taken with my phone after 12 hours.

However, when I took this picture, I applied 2 coats that day... as advised by Lisa Eldridge. To add to it's long lasting-ness (if there is a word), it was very resistant to water and food. Also, it did not chap my lips... they do look kind of dry in this photo, but I did not have cracks or loose skins at the end of the day so that's a big plus. I read in testerkorea.com that it contains jojoba oil, so that may have added to the anti-chap effect.

The collection comes in 5 colors:
Blossom Pink
Hawaiian Flower (which the SA said was a best seller)
Lady Salmon
Tangerine
Real Red

You can click the link above to check out pictures of the other shades.

To summarize...

What I like:
Packaging
Matte
Long Lasting
Does not chap/crack the lips

What I don't like:
Somewhat expensive (Php 435)
Short

Would I buy again?
Probably.

It turned out to be a good purchase after all, isn't that nice? Anyway, I hope to be able to buy more great products from this store... for now I will have to wait and patiently make up strategies to save money so I can buy more make ups.

Cheers,
LIZ

NOTD : Red, Circles and Metals

Happy New Year's Eve, everybody!

Ready for the big 2013 welcome celebration?
I'm so excited for this day because my sister will arrive today from Australia!
She'll be spending the next 6 weeks here in Manila and I can't wait to go shopping and do sisterly bondings with her again!

She already gave me clues on what she got me from AU. Will be sharing with you those on the next post! :)

Anyway, for this NOTD post, I'll show you the nails I'm sporting for the new year...

It's Red, has little metallic circles and quite colorful too.

I was supposed to do some nail art...
Why did I arrive at this?

Well, I was watching Doctor Who and got too engrossed at watching that I got lazy to think of a nail art design. Haha!

So I just thought of things that represents new year...

The color red, rounds things and bold colors! Also silver and gold if I am not mistaken.
All these represent good luck and long life - things to look forward to every new year.

I used these nail polishes:
Twinkle Nail Polish in Bonfire Red
Bobbie Premium Nail Creme in The Big Bang

So I guess I'll go back to prepping the house for my sis' welcome home kinda party (she'll probably sleep all day) and of course, to welcome 2013. :)

Happy 2013, guys!

Stay gorgeous!

Cheers!
