Favorite Holiday Scents for 2016

Hey dears!

I love it when I enter a room and it smells so good. It instantly uplifts my mood. I appreciate mostly vanilla, floral, and musky scents, while I am not a fan of citrusy scents. Anyway, I'll just be sharing the products that I own that I love to use and smell during the past few days...

Issey Miyake Pleats Please Eau de Parfum

Info from the website:

I unintentionally bumped into this while browsing a warehouse sale of different brands. I had no idea what it would smell like but my brother has a perfume from this brand that I like so I gave it a shot and sniffed the tester on the counter. I completely fell in love with the scent. It's light and refreshing—perfect for a day out!

Lanvin Marry Me! Eau de Parfum

Info from the website:

This is also an unplanned purchase. It just smells amazing. It's a very romantic scent and perfect for evening events.

Calvin Klein Endless Euphoria Eau de Parum

Info from the website:
This scent is like the middle ground of the two fragrances I've shared before. It's floral, light, and sexy!

And those are the perfumes that I like to interchange every other day.
Now, let here's a product that I enjoy when I get home...
The Body Shop Vanilla Chai Shower Gel

Info from the website:

This is the scent that combines two things I love—tea and vanilla!
I'm so happy that The Body Shop created this scent. Unfortunately, this is a limited edition product for the holidays so I better stock up so that I won't miss it too much.

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Lip in Luxe in Love is True

I already made a review on this. Check it out here.

I love applying it not just because of the matte finish and the lovely shade, I enjoy the sweet  vanilla or butterscotch (I can't pinpoint which exactly) scent as well! The smell doesn't stay too long but the experience of smelling it while creating that perfect red pout is just wonderful.

Alice Blue Ionizer Oil in Vanilla

We usually turn on our air revitalizer every morning and every day feels better whenever I smell vanilla early in the morning. We use this Alice Blue Ionizer Oil. You can check out their other scent on their scent guide.

Ilog Maria Fresh Rose Oil

Info from the website:

Calming & Energizing
Our aromatherapy oils can be used as cloth and room fragrance.
For use in a diffuser: place 1-4 drops in a few tablespoons of water and light tea light

Luxe Parfum and Scents Fresh Bamboo/ Bamboo Fields Water-Soluble Aroma Concentrate

Info from their Facebook Page:Best seller!
Fresh. Clean. Strong. An aroma that brings you the relaxing and refreshing scent of fresh and damp green bamboo leaves. Just like the scent you've been loving to sniff in your favorite hotel, or spa 😉

For use in Air Humidifiers, Air Revitalisors, Oil Burners.

All our fragrance oils are imported from Grasse, France. Water-soluble formulation is proudly concocted locally for Xiamed Trading.

These two I interchange depending on my mood. They smell completely different but I love them both! :D

 Nuxe Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse

Info from the website:

Last but not the least, the dry oil that I use all over my body. I just love this dry oil and my skin, especially my face, feels so soft the next day whenever I have it on. The experience gets better when applying it because of the warm, floral scent. I can't describe it well so I'll advise you to smell it when you see the Nuxe counters at Watsons or the Beauty sections of department stores. It really is captivating!

And those are the products that I enjoy ummm... sniffing. HAHA! What are the scents that you currently like?

Cheers,
DAWN

Zen Zest Diva Off Blogger Party

Hi ladies!

If you don't know yet, Dawn and I are karaoke addicts, we'd always try to have at least one karaoke sleepovers every break. :) But then again, we do live in the Philippines and just about everyone is a karaoke addict... so when Zen Zest Asia planned to have their blogger event last Saturday night at Red Box Greenbelt, you're just about sure that it'll be a total hit.

For us this was our first Zen Zest blogger event although they've done several blogger events in the past, this was the first one that we were able to attend. To be honest, my experience with this brand was also somewhat of a first time plus not being much of a fan of perfumes, I really did not know what to expect of the products.

We came in quite early so the room was still relatively empty with only a couple of other bloggers there waiting and Ms Liz Lanuzo of Project Vanity welcoming us. I have to say it was kind of funny that we shared the same nick name. :) So since it was early, we settled down, and I went and sang a few songs while there were still relatively only a few people around.

Me singing my heart out while I still can.

After two songs, our attention transferred to the products they were laying down before us. Boxes of perfumes decked out in their fashionable Christmas decor, their Christmas gift sets. And bottles of perfumes in a really cool dispensers; these, we would later on find out, were Zen Zest's new room sprays... much like your Glade air freshner, but cheaper and with a lot more volume.

So I have to say, Zen Zest sure takes really good care of it's blogger community... nothing makes me love events more than food and they showered us with a lot. The food selection was not only scrumptious, it was healthy as well, with salads, steamed fish, veggies, etc... ahh... I could go on and on... but this post is about the event... minus the food.

So... about 7:30 or something, the event promptly started with Melai of Style and Soul hosting the event.

We start off with Ms. Michelle Asence giving us a quick run through of their Christmas gift sets.

So let's go through them. They have 4 types of gift sets each catering to a specific criteria of "someone special" in your life.

First of we have their room fragrance set. It's the holidays, and if you're house is like our house, a little lagging in the Christmas spirit, then a little spray  of Christmas Spirit or Winter Wonderland ought to get you up to speed with the Christmas feel. With just Php 250, you can get the 250 ml of bottle and enjoy...

the sweet smell of cinnamon and berries of Christmas Spirit or

the nostalgic warmth of spicy cinnamon and clove in Winter Wonderland.

But if you can't decide which scents to gift to someone or to yourself then they have a pair of 80 ml bottles of both scents for Php 99.

So, since it's Christmas, you'll surely be looking for gifts for your girl-friends, moms, aunts, sisters... so they've also prepared 80 ml duos of their Body Spray for Women. You can 2 choose from their four available options: Pink Peony, Pink Tulip, Baby Powder, and Day Dream. All of this for the price of Php 99.

If they're a little more of the perfume addicts, for Php 120, the 120 ml  twosome for women of Berry Blush and Pure Cotton Body Spray should do the trick

And of course, for the manly men in your life, there is also an 80 ml duo worth Php 99 which you can customize by choosing from their four variants: Sport, Extreme, Active, and Rush.

Who says love has to be expensive?

After, Ms. Michelle's informative introduction to the products, we have Ms. Divine Lee herself, share her experience with the Room Fragrances.

She says that it's easy for her to talk about these products  because she really loves them and uses them herself. They last long, they smell really great, and they work on eliminating really bad smells plus they're cheap - which she likes cause she tends to spray them EVERYWHERE and ANYWHERE as she's very particular with odors and smells.

Will put up reviews and what nots of these on another day as this post is getting too long to keep your attention.

So anyway, this Diva Off event, really brought out the Karaoke-loving nature inside of all of us. With the Php 5,000 + Zen Zest personal set for the first prize on the line, and the 5,000 GCs to Maldita for the runners up, and 500 Zen Zest GC for all those who will sing, of course, everybody became interested and game for the whole Diva Off.

But even without the money, I bet we'd still belt our hearts out. :)

It was a great night and a great turn out. A lot of bloggers were there, the most number I've seen so far in my past year of attending events. Just wasn't able to meet and greet all of them... I'm always so awkward in first meetings.

And let's not forget our loot bags. :) yippee. :)

Well, that's it for another happy blog event. Thank you to Liz Lanuzo for the invite! :) Hope to attend another event, and will surely patronize be using that 500 worth GC for more room fragrances. :)

Cheers,
LIZ

Estee Lauder's Pure White Linen

Hello ladies,

Today, I'd like to share with you one of my most favorite perfumes.

I was never a fan of perfumes. I always found it troublesome to have to spray yourself with it every time you go out. And I always found it hard to re-spray perfume when it's lost it's scent since it means bringing that big bottle with you wherever.

But, over the years, balikbayan aunts have introduced me to a gamut of really fragrant perfumes that it made me like the idea of putting some on... but there was one that I just had to ask them to buy me one again and that was Estee Lauder's Pure White Linen

Photo from Estee Lauder's website

Why do I like it? The moment I sprayed it, I loved it because it gave of that feeling of summer, of being a kid, of being innocent. And I got really attached to the smell that it became my pick-me-up. I just spray it and makes me all happy inside. :)

Here are the product details:

It's frankly the most expensive thing (aside from my laptop) that I asked my aunt to buy for me. I never really thought it would be that expensive... so now I use it sparingly, just so I can make it last long, as opposed to how I used my first bottle.

Anyway, that's all I can share for today. We've been so busy lately that Dawn and I have not had the chance to meet up and do make overs and such. Also, we have not been able to answer most of the comments lately. We do apologize for that and we thank all our followers, readers and commenters for sharing their ideas and thoughts on our posts.

We hope you enjoyed this short post. :)

Cheers,
LIZ

Someday by Justin Bieber Fragrance Launch

Hello lovelies!

Yesterday we were privileged enough to attend the launch of Someday by Justin Bieber. Nope, it's not his new album or single, and I think all the JB fans out there already knows about it. For those who aren't avid JB followers/fans, Someday is Justin Bieber's first fragrance for her.

The launch was held in SM Makati's Department Store. It was a modest event where fans and non fans alike were able to take photos with the Justin Bieber posters and sample the fragrance Someday.

It was attended by JB fans, celebrities, and also fellow bloggers.

Helen and Liz with Rhenz Valerio and Jhoana Marie Tan

Dawn and I were actually one of the first people at the event. The program started promptly with Maan and the other staff going about and explaining the fragrance and the concept behind it to everybody. It was a very casual and light launch with fans, celebrities, and bloggers mingling and taking photos together. Other bloggers in the event were, our adopted sister, Helen of luckycitrine.blogspot.com and Kumi of http://www.lovingsunshine.com/

The crowd attending the event.

Guest Celebrities who attended. Sorry about the angle, there were a lot of people and it was hard to cut in front of the photographers.

Brent Javier who kind of closed the event. :)

So on to the scent. I have to be honest, at first I thought they were going to give out perfumes for men. I was some how amused that it was for women, and happy too since I won't have to give it to my brother. More goodies for me.

 Someday Launch Booth

"SOMEDAY is the idea that we can change the world, make our dreams come true, and even be with the one person that means everything. I wanted to create a fragrance for my female fans that I can't get enough of… that I want to get next to and I can't stay away from." - Justin Bieber

As I said earlier, Someday is his first fragrance for her and was launched in the USA in June 2011. It was a great success making a record-breaking number of sales after its launch. It became the biggest celebrity fragrance launch in history and sold over $3 million at Macy's alone within 3 weeks.

This fragrance boasts of a number of awards: "WWD Product of the Year" in the Prestige Fragrance category, Best in Class Marketing Award in Canada, The Fragrance Foundation's 2012 Elizabeth Taylor Fragrance Celebrity of the Year Award (US), Best New Celebrity Fragrance (UK), and honors at the 2012 FiFi Fragrance Awards (a.k.a. the "Oscars" of the fragrance industry).

So what's in this fragrance?
Here's what the official press launch says.

Justin’s fragrance for her is an addictive fragrance that evokes a sense of sexy, modern sophistication. It takes off with a splash of fruity mandarin, pear and wild berries, continues with fresh notes of jasmine and creamy florals and ends with warm hints of vanilla and soft musk. SOMEDAY captures Justin’s message of having the ambition to achieve anything, while always remaining true to oneself.

We're still currently in the process of testing this fragrance out but initial reaction... It's awesome! The smell is lovely, fresh, flirty and does not come off strong. The packaging is super pretty and chic you wouldn't even think it's fragrance by JB.

Anyway, here are more pictures from the event.

The free laptop bag... I think you get this when you purchase the big one... not so sure though.

The very pretty Someday.

And we were so happy for the goodies and the event that we just had to express our gratitude to JB. :))

For that day only, they gave out samples. Just present this give away flyer along with your SMAC and you get a free vial for you to try.

And here we are getting the privilege of taking a photo with Brent Javier.

And here are our take home loot: Someday by JB and a free Juicy Couture Lotion. :) Yehey!

So that's it for this lengthy post on the events that transpired that faithful Sunday. :) We certainly had fun at the event. Hope you try the scent yourself and hopefully the other scents will launch here soon. It's a good gift idea for your JB fan friends for this upcoming Christmas season. :)

Cheers,
LIZ
