Review: Hello Glow Sunflower Collection

Hello loves!

Don't you just get excited when you see a skincare set that works and fits the budget? Well that was what I felt when I was able to try Hello Glow's Sunflower Collection.

But before I share my review, I have to say that before I tried the collection, I honestly was not aware of the brand Hello Glow. It has been a long while since I just browsed the beauty sections of malls (since the pandemic started I think) nor have I actively looked at everything that's new at the beauty scene. I was actually contacted by the team behind the brand if I wanted to try and review the products to which I agreed to because I was curious about it.

Why was I curious? Well, I did a quick research about Hello Glow, a fairly new local brand (founded in 2020) and quite active in social media. It gave me a young and cool vibe. The products they have look fresh and also quite within a typical pinoy's budget! It claims to produce products that are vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and SLS-free.

What's more, the collection that is being featured has sunflower as main ingredient. I've used dozens of products with sunflower and I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that sunflower oils are one of the good oils for skin if you're someone into face oils... and look what's included in the collection—a sunflower beauty oil!

Freshel Skin Freshener

Hey dears!

It's no secret that I like using face mists. I like having it wherever I go, mostly because I like how it makes me feel so refreshed when I spray it. It also helps in moisturizing skin. When I already have makeup on and my skin still needs a bit of hydrating, a mist is the best bet to help you out.

That is why I bought a number of mists when I went to Japan. Their cosmetic stores carry so many of them that I couldn't leave with just one. Here's one of the products I bought...

Freshel Skin Freshener

Unfortunately, I couldn't remember how much I bought it. :(

Before I proceed with my personal experience with the product, below is the product description from the website:

Enhance effectiveness of the lotion
and all-in-one gel to follow
Moisture infusion technology with water-catching and deep-infusing functions enhance effectiveness of the lotion and all-in-one gel to follow.

Moisturizie skin with just this product alone!
Moisture ingredients such as double collagen*, hyaluronic acid, niacin, and apricot extract keep moisturizing skin.
*Hydrolized collagen and water-soluble collagen

Press down on the pump to spray a generous amount of mist.
An all-natural citrus fragrance provides the most refreshing and soothing experience.
Use it before lotion or anytime during the day - in the office or after a shower - when your skin feels thirsty.

So basically, it's a mist that specializes in adding moisture to your skin and it's best to pair it with the brand's lotion and all-in-one gel. So I guess it's the step next to toning and then add the lotions and moisturizers after.

I like the clear, crystal-like bottle. It looks clean and classy but I find it a bit heavy. I also like the spray because it lets out a fine mist. None of those sprays that feel like someone spit on you. Haha!

The scent is very mild. I do not like citrus scents but this one is pretty okay.

I mostly use this after I apply makeup to help set it and also add some moisture if needed. Most of the time, it's because I want to feel refreshed after a long day or when I'm out under the sun for too long. But I have used this on my clean face, usually as my day moisturizer. I already have oily skin so I do not need intensive moisture. Although I do have a separate moisturizer that I use, there are days when I just want something very light and clean-feeling and this one is it. I think that my skin feels hydrated enough when I use this so all is good with this product for me. :)

And I guess that's all I can say with this one.
Which face mist are you using right now?

Cheers,DAWN

Celeteque DermoScience Hydration Hydrolyzed Moisturizing Mist

Hey guys!

The heat is getting intense!
One thing that makes me feel better in an instant refreshing spray from my face mist after walking outside under the sun. But, that's just one of the perks of having a facial mist in my bag, facial mists provide hydration and also helps in setting makeup!

My current facial mist is...

 Celeteque DermoScience Moisturizing Mist
Php 349.00

Here are the product details from the back of the bottle:

And more details from the website:

It is directed to be used like a moisturizer under sunscreen and makeup. But for me, I use a different moisturizer, which is also from the same brand. I use this moisturizing mist on top of makeup to add moisture if needed. It also helps in setting it. ;)

I love that the bottle is easy to carry because it's light and smaller than the usual spritz that I've used. I also like how it sprays the product. It's even and it's really like mist. None of those large droplets that I hate. :P

When I spray this, I try to avoid the T-zone because of my oily skin. But when my officemates (who have dry skin) use this, they like it because it really made their skin feel hydrated and less tight. When they use their powder mineral makeup, the powder sets quickly and makes their foundation look like their second skin faster than usual after they spray this. My friend also appreciates that it's mildly0scented!

One thing I like to do is to keep it in the fridge so that when you use it, the mist is extra cool for added comfort. :)

It's a pretty good face mist. It hydrates, sets makeup, and cools you down after a hot walk under the summer heat. The packaging is good, it's dermatologist-tested, hypoallergenic, and the price is also pretty okay. What's not to like?

What are your thoughts on the Celeteque DermoScience Hydration Hydrolyzed Moisturizing Mist?

The Beauty Bakery Clarifying Witch Hazel Facial Mist

Hey dolls!

I love using facial mists because it refreshes my face after a long day. It also gives a moisture boosts when needed, especially when my makeup cakes (I just spray some and then re-spread my foundation evenly). I use my face mists a lot and I finish a bottle very quickly. Some of the face mists are quite expensive and I use up a whole bottle after 2 to 3 months, so that means I need to buy one again. So finding an affordable one is always awesome!

While looking at some products at BeautyMNL, I stumbled across this product:

The Beauty Bakery Clarifying Witch Hazel Facial Mist

The 150ml bottle costs PhP 265.00.
I bought it because of the affordable price and the good reviews it's been receiving from the website. I might as well try it out!

Info from BeautyMNL:
All the good stuff in a sweet-smelling bottle that refreshes and clarifies, Beauty Bakery’s Clarifying Witch Hazel Facial Mist is specially made to keep you feeling crisp and clean all day. INGREDIENTS: Water, Witch Hazel extract, Tea Tree extract, Lemon extract.

How to Use
Mist onto face within an arm’s length to freshen up your skin. Product can be refrigerated to heighten cooling sensation.

About the brand:
The awesome team behind Beauty Bakery believe that it’s time to celebrate the women of today. Ladies, whether you’re aged 1-100, pregnant or soon-to-be, a bride, grandmother, tween or teen, we owe it to ourselves to be good to our skin. Pamper yourself with a delectable line of all-natural, paraben and preservative-free products that are made fresh just for you. Luscious body butters, deliciously sweet sprays, and yummy whipped lotions are what await when you try any of their products, designed to satisfy any skin craving!

I've been using the mist and I got it down to half of the bottle. So here's what I think of it:

The packaging
I like that you can see how much product is left. I like the simplicity of the label's design. However, I find the labels' colors too light and small that makes it difficult to read. The glass bottle is also pretty heavy that I do not like carrying it in my bag. I do like how it sprays because it does feel like a mist.

I usually use this after I apply my makeup (to set it), but you can also use this as toner. I believe it's pretty safe to use on skin to make sure it's clean as it is made up of organic ingredients. So it's a mist and a toner in one—multipurpose products are always awesome!

The scent is citrusy. I'm actually not a fan of fruity fragrances but the scent of this one is pretty mild that I do not mind smelling it. When I apply it, it doesn't feel as refreshing as other mists that I've tried, but it's still refreshing nonetheless. I don't know why... I do feel the water mist, but there's this familiar sensation, pretty close to when I eat oranges and there's like a fruity acid there on my hands... maybe in this case, from the lemon extract... It makes me feel like my skin is thirsty even though my face is already wet from the mist. I can't really describe it, but it's a different feeling as to when I use other mists with aloe or rose water. It doesn't annoy me or anything. I just want to share it in case others experience the same thing.

It still get's the job done. I have acne-prone and oily skin and it does help clean my face thoroughly as a toner and it does help set my makeup—it's not a makeup fixer (which prolongs makeup), it just sets the makeup faster. It works and I love that you get two products in one and on an affordable price! I don't think that I'll be purchasing again as I bought quite a lot of face mists when I went to Tokyo. It's still a product that I would say is something good to try.

Have you tried the The Beauty Bakery Clarifying Witch Hazel Facial Mist yet?

YADAH Vitamin Mist

Hello loves!

I became a fan of face mists recently. I just can't get enough of them! I don't really need constant hydration because I already have oily skin, but I just love the feeling of the mists on skin when you spray them... it just feels so relaxing. Plus, the ones I've used smell great so they really are comforting. I also use mists for setting my makeup, especially when I use powder foundations like the one from Ellana. They make the powder set faster and look more natural.

I'm on a lookout for different, but affordable brands to try. I found one at Beauty Bar and it's the...

YADAH Vitamin Mist
I bought this for Php 295.00. Very affordable if I compare it to the ones I currently have (e.g., The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist).

Yadah is an unfamiliar brand to me right now. I've been seeing the products at Beauty Bar since last year but I haven't tried them out yet until I bought this mist. I saw other variants of the face mists from Yadah, one is for acne treatment and oil control, while the other is for further moisturization if I remember correctly.

You might wonder why I went with this one instead of the Anti-T one (for oil control and anti-acne one). Well, I chose this because I just love how my skin looks more radiant when I feed it Vitamin C (read my review of one of the products I've used that contains Vit C here) and I guess this already has oil control too.

This smells so good! The citrus scent is mild so having this sprayed on the face won't be annoying. The spray itself is okay, not as fine as the one from The Body Shop but it's still okay. It's not like some other sprays that feel like the product is being spat on you. Haha!

Does it whiten? I can't really say because I don't use it on a daily basis. Just when I go out. I use a different one when I am at home. Anyway, if I want to whiten my skin, I think I'd stick to creams for a more even application. :P

Does it help with oil control? I can't really say as well. I use other products for that too and I usually use this with my makeup on. But what I love about this is the soothing feeling when I spray this. It cools my face and makes it feel hydrated. With makeup on, you can't really reapply moisturizer because your makeup would get ruined, but with a face mist, you're saved! And as mentioned on the first part of this post, it's a good makeup setter. I do think that this is a good purchase. :)

Do you like face mists too? Have you tried products from YADAH yet? Which one? :)

The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist

Hi everyone!

I just want to talk about one of my life savers whenever I'm out for a long time and it's hot and my makeup needs refreshing...

The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist

This was a gift for me from The Body Shop, Philippines a few of months ago and I've been carrying it in my bag ever since.

But let's get to know what this product is about from the labels at the back of the bottle:

And here are details from the website:

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A quick skin pick-me up and excellent for setting make-up. Spritz it on for instant refreshment, moisture, and protection. With a delicate rosewater scent.

FULL INGREDIENTS
Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Panthenol, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Alchohol Denat., Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Methylparaben, Lecithin, Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Water, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben.

How to Use
Close your eyes and hold the bottle 10 cm away from your face. Spray onto the face once or twice and allow to dry.

This is a spray bottle and I love the dispenser. When you spray it, it really feels like mist because the water is so fine and not like it spat the water on your face. It smells really nice too because the scent is rose and I love that scent very much!

I use this whenever it's hot and I wanna cool my face. I also use this to set my makeup. I usually top my face off with powder to prolong makeup and this softens the finish. This gets absorbed quickly and it leaves the skin moisturize for a while. But just to clarify, this doesn't prolong the makeup, it's not a makeup fixer.

I really like this product and I'm glad TBS introduced this to me. I think I will repurchase as soon as mine is out. I love this to bits!

Have you tried this yet? What is your favorite face mist?
