NOTD: Girl on Fire

Hello loves!

A few days ago, I saw one post from Caronia Philippines' Facebook account that shows a nail art challenge. This contest has been on-going for months now as a celebration of the brand's 50th anniversary in the beauty industry.

The nail art challenge is open to everyone who uses the classic Caronia Nail Polishes. The rules are easy to follow too. Caronia just uploads a nail art design each week and you recreate it. They even recommended the shades used in the design, but it's okay to not use the particular shade and even mix your own creative twists in the design as long as it's still related to the week's theme. You can only use all Caronia products though, which is just fair since it is their contest. They announce the winner of that particular week's challenge after a few days and they also have a new design again for others to join and get a chance to win. I think they do it weekly and there have been a handful or more winners already.

So when I saw this design—Girl on Fire, I thought it was easy enough for me to copy. The other designs were just too hard! Haha! Anyway, I think that this week's design is so feisty too that I was just attracted to it. Good thing I have enough Caronia nail polishes to join the contest.

So here's my entry...

NOTD: Peachy Cutie

Hey dolls!

I haven't been doing NOTDs for a while and that's because I haven't painted my nails for a long time... or I just once in a while then it will take months before I apply again. I just wanted to rest my nails from all the painting I've done before.

But for now, I want my nails to look prettier so I looked at my newer nail polishes to see what would be nice to put on. As I was browsing the shades included in Caronia's 50th Anniversary sets, I remembered that the new color of the year is a peach shade so I looked for the shade closest to the Pantone's color of the year 2019—Living Coral.
Eventually, I ended up with this...

Caronia Celebrates its 50th Year

Hi loves!

Do you remember what nail polishes you first purchased when you started your journey with beauty products, particularly on nail care? I remembered mine and it was during high school. One of the bottles I purchased was a cute pink shade from Caronia. I remember I was fixed on buying one from this brand because it was so affordable and that among the brands available , it offered the most number of shades.

I feel like Caronia has played a role in the lives of most Filipino beauty enthusiasts when it comes to prettifying in general, discovering our own style, and showing our personality when it comes to our physical appearances. Personally, I think I've owned more Caronia nail polishes compared to other brands of nail colors. Until now I have some in my collection. Oh! Fun fact, it's named after a luxury ship!

So if you're just like me who have/had Caronia as part of their beauty journey, then Caronia invites us to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a new set of collection.

Pamper Weekends with Caronia Hand and Foot Care System

Hey everyone!

I think many of you would agree with me that our feet suffer the most after a long work day when it comes to our body, especially now that it's the rainy season! I work in UST and that place gets flooded quite easily after a couple of hours of heavy rain. We expose our feet to long walks when we commute, getting soaked in the rain/flood while wearing closed shoes, occasionally wearing uncomfortable footwear (I've done this a lot just to look a little prettier. Haha!), and just plain carrying our weight everyday (THIS!!! Haha! I am plus-sized and I have small feet. So yeah, my feet take a lot of pain everyday! Haha!) ! As a result, we get callus, cracks, and sometimes blisters. Yikes!

So I make it a habit that when I get home, the first thing I do is to remove my shoes and let my feet rest for a while before I do chores or take a bath and such for at least thirty minutes.

I would like to treat my feet for a luxurious foot spa once a week if I could but the practical me would not want to spend so much money if I can just do it myself at home!

And here's where the Caronia Hand and Foot Care System comes in. This is a range from Caronia that help our hands and feet to look good and moisturized. I currently have the Rejuvenating Soak and Wash, Renewing Scrub, and Nourishing Cream. I have tried the Nourishing cream before and I liked it very much that I bought another one. I love the scent because it's green tea, and I LOVE green tea!

I was recently included to their blogger list whom they keep updated about the newest trends and products of the brand. I'm happy to grab the opportunity because Caronia is indeed a leading brand when it comes to nail, hand, and foot care in our country. Anyway, the products above were given to me by the brand almost a month ago along with a cute pink case and a towel. I've been using them ever since I received them and I'll share my quick thoughts about them. :)

But first, check out the press release below about the range:

CAREFREE RAINY DAYS WITH CARONIA

The rainy season is here and as we prepare for the wet days ahead, sometimes it's easy to forget to take care of our body.

These unpredictable days normally soak our hands and feet, making them prone to dryness after some time. But don't worry because we have got you covered with the Caronia Hand and Foot Care System - three quick steps that will give you a soothing and rejuvenating hand and foot spa experience:

•       STEP ONE: Caronia Revitalizing Soak & Wash - Cleanse, soothe, and soften your hands and feet with the luxurious blend of Green Tea fragrance, soothing menthol and skin-softening dead sea salt.

•       STEP TWO: Caronia Renewing Scrub – Exfoliate dead skin cells and ease tired hands and feet muscles with the gentle mix of apricot seeds and white wax beads plus the calming infusion of Green Tea fragrance, massage oils and menthol

•       STEP THREE: Caronia Nourishing Crème – Smoothen and hydrate your hands and feet with the mix of Panthenol combined with refreshing green tea fragrance.

And you're done! So try the Caronia Hand and Foot Care system now and have fun in the rain!

_______

So as I have mentioned, I do this almost every weekend. The three steps are pretty simple to follow and you don't need to buy other expensive items to pamper your hands and feet. Everything is affordable including the Caronia range!

Just get your products, a towel, a wash basin, and a floor rug (for cleanliness reasons). A foot brush and pumice is optional. :)

I took pictures of each product, just click the photo or open it on another tab for a bigger view and to read the labels. :) I also took pictures of the usual process I do when I treat my feet with the Caronia Hand and Foot Care range.

I first soak my feet in a wash basin with the Revitalizing Soak and Wash. The amount I use depends on how much water I have in my basin. I don't have a particular amount in mind, I just estimate it according to the foam and the scent. :P

I soak my feet for 15-30 minutes. I usually watch an episode of a TV series that I like during that week. I also brush it with a foot brush after for further cleaning. I sometimes use the pumice to get rid of surface dead skin.

After soaking, I massage the Renewing scrub.

I massage the product for a good 5 minutes. I like that the beads that help exfoliate aren't too gritty but they are not too soft as well.

Finally, the Nourishing Creme. I apply this the last and I also apply it every night before I hop into bed.

The consistency is not too thick. This cream helps to keep your hands and feet moisturized but if you want intensive moisturization, then I think you should look for it from a different product. I think this is more on maintenance... at least for me based on my experience.

It's awesome that you can achieve a spa experience at the convenience of your home using these products from Caronia. I'll definitely continue with my weekend foot spa routine and pamper my feet with love and the awesome scent of green tea! :D

If you want to try the range out, Caronia products are available in leading Department Stores, Supermarkets, Drug Stores, and Health and Beauty shops nationwide.

NOTD: Blueberry Ice Cream on a Cone

Hey guys!

I was watching some videos of T.O.P with Tellie during our Sandara-inspired makeover a few days ago and because of all the fangirling we did that day, I was inspired to do something related with T.O.P...

... and it's "Blueberry Ice Cream on a Cone" Nails!

Why Ice Cream? Well, T.O.P used to sport blue hair! And he looked pretty damn good with it! Just look at this photo below!

And his inspiration for this wild hair color is none other than Ice Cream! It didn't say which flavor exactly from the article I read it from. It's either blueberry or bubblegum... I just chose to name it after the fruit since bubblegum can be in other colors. :P

It's actually quite easy to do. You don't need to put too much effort on this. I got it done within 20 minutes since I had to wait for every coat to dry.

Here are the nail polishes I used for the NOTD.
I guess it's pretty obvious on how I layered them. I just used a black acrylic paint to add strokes on the details.

It's quite easy and very fun to do. I think it's cute as well. Some people didn't get it at first but they eventually see the ice cream on a cone theme once I mention it.

What do you think of this NOTD?
Do you also agree that T.O.P is just absolutely, 100% GORGEOUS?!
I just swoon whenever I see him in the KakaoTalk ads then crack up when I hear him say, "Hi Sarah." :P

Cheers,

Caronia Hand and Foot Care Nourishing Cream in Green Tea

Hey dearies!

Love having foot spas?
I'm currently loving them! I am doing a lot of walking right now which makes such luxury something I'd take to pamper my tired feet.

To tell you the truth, I was avoiding foot spas in salons before. I only do them in the comforts of my own house. It has nothing to do with the service itself or the places I have been to. It was actually because of me. I was embarrassed of my feet. I have small feet yet I'm in the heavy side. Carrying such a heavy body may be causing my feet callus and I really had thick ones. I find those on my feet disgusting that I don't want people to see nor touch them.

So after a long and tedious task of getting rid of thick and rough skin on my feet, I am more confident in exposing my feet and have the lovely experience of getting foot spas! I don't have to do them myself anymore! LOL

One of the products I use to take care of my feet is this product:

Caronia Hand and Foot Care Nourishing Cream in Green Tea

I actually got this for free after buying nail polishes from Caronia during Cosmetologie 2013.

About the product (from the website):

A nourishing mix of Panthenol combined with soothing Green Tea fragrance. Smoothens and hydrates hands and feet.
Available in 50ml, 200ml and 500ml sizes.

Front and Back of the tube.

The scent is like mild and soothing sweet green tea. The product is quite thick but it's really easy to spread onto skin. It may take a few minutes for the product to be fully absorbed by the skin BUT this pretty thing right here is very moisturizing! It keeps my feet from drying and having cracks. Though this doesn't lock in the moisture in my feet like that of when I use petroleum jelly, this product is feels waaaay more comfortable and easier to use. I love this product because it performs well and it's so comfortable!

Do you have a favorite product to use on your feet?

NOTD : Sneakers

Hey loves!

I love shoes.
I'm not a collector but I think most girls would agree with me that it's fun to have new shoes that looks great and comfy at the same time.
Since I have small legs and feet (and they have to carry such a heavy weight LOL), I usually go for wedges and doll flat shoes. Most of my foot wear are flats and wedges up to 3 inches. Anything higher will make my feet tired from walking in just a couple of hours.
I don't have much shoes but I can tell you that I have a couple of dozens. But none of them are sneakers. Haha! I just don't like sneakers. I guess it's just not my style! I have nothing against sneakers but I never fancied them. Even my friends find it weird when I wear theirs... they say I look awkward in them. Haha!

But anyway, even though I don't get to wear them as my footwear, I get to wear them on my nails in this NOTD! :P

I used all Caronia Polishes in this NOTD. And I also used a black and blue Sharpee for the 'Shoelace.'

It got quite messy when I fell asleep. I thought it was completely dry but I guess I was wrong. Uh oh! :P

But what do you think of this very easy nail art?
Do you think I can sport something sporty even if it's only on my nails?
Haha!

Nail Experiment: Marbling

Good evening ladies,

So I've always had Dawn do my nails for me, this is the first time that I actually did "art" for my nails and did Dawn's nails too. Last week, this was the design of my nails.

And all these were done by marbling. Ok so for those of you who aren't familiar with the process, here's a short picture tutorial. The colors I used for this tutorial aren't the ones I used for my nails... instead I'm using UST colors, black, gold, black, white! :)

So here are the things that you need.

Nail polish
A small cup
(preferably something you won't use again for any other purpose like a cap)
A tooth pick
Scotch tape
and tissue paper.

First off, put your base. I prefer using white but I think any color can work. When it's dry, wrap your finger in scotch tape leaving the nail exposed. This is so that you don't have to clean up your whole finger with acetone after. I usually wrap the tape first before putting my base cause I'm not very careful and the tapes sticks to my nail.

Then, you fill the cup with water. Some people would use warm water for this. I usually just use room temperature water and it works fine for me.

As for the nail polish, you don't need expensive ones for this. When I did mine, I used the ones from Twinkle (Magic Black and Mango), Caronia (On the Go), Etude House (White) so you can use just about any polish. The only things you have to remember to make this work is that:

1. Nail polish should be a little runny so it's easy for you to make droplets on the water.

2. Get the solid colors, not the sparkly frosted ones, they spread more evenly and you see the colors form.

3. Before starting on dropping the polish on the water, make sure that all the caps are already unscrewed. You have to do the layering of the droplets quick because once the first layer hardens, you won't be able to make a decent pattern. Oh, and just let the polish drop on it own and bring the brush as close to the water's surface as possible. If it's too high up, it'll sink rather than float on top.

So here is the layering I did... and then with the toothpick, create your pattern. Just slide the toothpick across that target. I'm not very good at it and I basically do random swirls.

Then, when you've just about achieved the pattern you like, select an area then dip your hand there straight in. Then with the toothpick again, clean up the excess before pulling your finger out.

And here's the finished product. :) After it dries, just peel off the scotch tape and apply top coat. :)

So far, this is the best pattern I've done.

This is a technique that needs some amount of practice to perfect. I do believe the more layers you do, the better it'll turn out... maybe that's where the warm water will help, it'll keep the 1st layer from hardening... probably.. haven't tried it though. You can look up marbling in youtube if you're getting a little confused with my tutorial. :)

Anyway, that's it for my first nail experiment. :)

Cheers,
LIZ
