Pre-departure Haul: 1st Shopping Trip

Hello Bellas!

I've recently been accepted in a university abroad to study a masters degree and it has been such a busy, frustrating, exciting, and nerve-wracking endeavor. With just a few weeks 'till my departure - hoping that everything else goes well - I've started putting together the stuffs I need to bring.

So here is my initial haul:

HAPPY SKIN

I heard make-up products are quite expensive states-side, so I decided to stuck up on the color correction/concealer I've been using a lot lately: Happy Skin's EYE NEED A MIRACLE.

Dawn introduced me to this correction tube and it's been my trusty friend ever since.

I haven't really tried the concealer since the correction tube has served me so well. But since I am not sure of how my skin will transform once I'm there, better be ready.

Dawn and I are happy to promote any locally made product we discover that are of a competitive quality. These are just a few of those that we believe are really good. Read our reviews of the correction and concealer if you haven't yet. I hope I get to promote this well to any friend I make there.

ZARA

Zara's July sale is almost ending and I was so happy that I acquired this pretty find in my size! Though it is more appropriate to buy winter clothes there, my choices will be a little limited due to budgetary constrictions, plus Zara has some of the best designs when it comes to coats and jackets.

Here is the coat we found. The textile design is embroidered - not sure how to say burda appropriately in English as I don't think knitted is appropriate as well. GD (G-Dragon - Bigbang) was the reason why we noticed this piece.

Something about the color and texture just reminded us of this look from one of GD's Chanel show attendance. And it fitted quite well too. So yey!

The coat originally cost Php 4,595 and I got it for Php 1,795. What a great deal! Be sure to take advantage of the remaining weeks of Zara's July sale too!

JUST G

Just G has some of the cutest clothes. However, I kind of feel like their sizing are only appropriate for teenagers or really petite women. Which is great, but if you're a regular petite woman, or a tall girl, or of average height; Just G's sizes might not fit you well (unless you're ok with mid-riffed/hanging shirts).

Anyway, I was on the hunt for long sleeved shirts and this weird and cute piece caught my eye. I was so taken by it that even though it was a bit of a hanging shirt, I bought it. My compromise to make it school appropriate? High waist pants/skirts/shorts!

It costs Php 799. Some might argue that it's a bit pricey for such a simple piece, but I kind of felt it was ok since the fabric was thicker than all the other long sleeved shirts we took a look at of the same price range.

Anyway, that's all for my mini haul. Hope this was informative. If you ever know any good stores with a great sale that I can visit to look for long sleeved shirts at, do let me know in the comments. :)

Cheers,
LIZ

I'll Be Back in a Couple!

Hey guys!

I apologize for not posting much recently. I only have a week and a half left this semester in Grad school and I'm currently finishing the requirements for my finals and that is why I haven't been posting much on my blog for the past couple of weeks.

Here are some of the works I'm doing...
One is a flat painting on canvas while the other is embossed using styrofoam. I'll be doing more versions of this abstract portrait, like a free standing one and high relief version. If they will look good, I'll post pics of them here. :P These will be exhibited in my school for a few days so ummm... I'm pressured to make them somehow decent because I have to do them in a short amount of time plus I have work and other subjects to deal with. Yikes! Wish me luck.

Anyway, I'm almost done with the requirements so I'll be posting some beauty related posts soon. I received very interesting products last week that I'm excited to share my reviews about them with you all! Yay!

And by the way, the KPop group that I listen to is back! Haha! Been fangirling last Friday because they released their two songs that day. Check them out here:

And they also performed these songs on stage earlier today. Here's the video of their performance:

T.O.P is just so crazy gorgeous. :D :D :D

Anyway, that's it for now. Will get back to blogging in a couple of days! Stay tuned! Mwah!

NOTD: Blueberry Ice Cream on a Cone

Hey guys!

I was watching some videos of T.O.P with Tellie during our Sandara-inspired makeover a few days ago and because of all the fangirling we did that day, I was inspired to do something related with T.O.P...

... and it's "Blueberry Ice Cream on a Cone" Nails!

Why Ice Cream? Well, T.O.P used to sport blue hair! And he looked pretty damn good with it! Just look at this photo below!

And his inspiration for this wild hair color is none other than Ice Cream! It didn't say which flavor exactly from the article I read it from. It's either blueberry or bubblegum... I just chose to name it after the fruit since bubblegum can be in other colors. :P

It's actually quite easy to do. You don't need to put too much effort on this. I got it done within 20 minutes since I had to wait for every coat to dry.

Here are the nail polishes I used for the NOTD.
I guess it's pretty obvious on how I layered them. I just used a black acrylic paint to add strokes on the details.

It's quite easy and very fun to do. I think it's cute as well. Some people didn't get it at first but they eventually see the ice cream on a cone theme once I mention it.

What do you think of this NOTD?
Do you also agree that T.O.P is just absolutely, 100% GORGEOUS?!
I just swoon whenever I see him in the KakaoTalk ads then crack up when I hear him say, "Hi Sarah." :P

MAKEUP EXPERIMENT #9 : G-Dragon (From 'Monster' MV) Inspired

 Hi guys!

I convinced Liz, who has a very busy schedule nowadays, to do a makeup experiment with me! Yayyy!

Since she got her hair dyed a little on the reddish side, we chose a peg that has the same or at least close to her hair length and color and ended up with this look...

Tadaaa!!

Our peg is another guy (yep... another boy version makeover, just like the past 3 makeup experiments I did). He's a member of the only KPop band that Liz and I listen to...

G-Dragon of Bigbang!
And since he has like hundreds of different hairstyles, we chose his look during their 'Monster' MV.

Here are our pegs...

We had a hard time deciding which makeup to follow. It's most probably the same but the lighting effect makes the eye makeup look different in both pictures.

We wished that we could have dyed her hair redder but that's not allowed since she is currently doing her duties in the hospital (she's a med student FYI).

Anyway, here are some of our shots...

We tried to use a 'lip ring' using an earring but it's quite hard to position it on the lips since it kept sliding off. Haha!

Makeup by :Me
Hairstyle : Liz Mercado
Model : Liz Mercado
Photos by : Me
Place taken : My room

And btw, I also did a drawing of the 5 members of Bigbang as requested by Liz a long, long time ago!

So what do you think of the makeover? I hope it can pass as a pretty decent experiment... Haha!

Cheers!

BIGBANG ALIVE CONCERT TOUR in MANILA

Hello ladies,

Just for today we are veering away from our usual beauty posts to share to you our BIGBANG ALIVE CONCERT TOUR experience. Yes, we were there. We have to say, great job to the staff in MOA Arena for organizing the lines and the entrance stuffs well. We were able to get inside very quickly.

And so, here we were getting cozy very early on in our Upper Box seats... we were very near the Gen Ad first line, they were behind us.. but nonetheless... we had a great view.

Plus, as bonus (or consolation) our free Jeju Fan's Designs were all TOP. I exchanged mine for the GD fan because most of the Gen Ad people sitting behind us wanted the TOP fans, they even took the fans of the those who weren't in their seats yet. Haha!

The crowd was really wild that night. They were all screaming even before the concert even started. Even with just the music videos playing, they'd show their support and love by screaming and singing along with the songs. There were a number of times that we were misled into thinking that the boys were peeping behind the curtains because of all the excitement.

So the show started about 15 to 20 minutes late, which was already pretty much on time compared to the last concert we attended. It started with this AVP of the 5 capsules being deployed containing the 5 boys and as the curtain fell, we see them emerge and start off the whole concert.

We were pretty much on a high so we can't really remember all the songs that they sang... but definitely our favorites from the Alive album and Still Alive Album: "Feeling", "Blue", Bad Boy", "Still Alive", "Wings", and "Fantastic Baby" were sang. They also sang our favorite songs from their past albums like: "Haru Haru", "Heaven", "Lies", Liz's favorite "Cafe", "Love Song" and so many more.

GD even treated us to acapella versions of songs from  his new album: "Crayon" and "One of a Kind".

Of course there were also the solos... GD and TOP's "Knock Out" and "High High", Daesung with "Wings", Taeyang's medley of "Only Look At Me" and "Wedding Dress", and Seungri's medley of "Strong Baby" and "What Can I Do?". TOP closed the whole concert with his Tabi Dance Moment which Taeyang coaxed him into. :) Thank you Young Bae!

All these plus all the awesome choreographies, fireworks, Segways and bike props, and AVPs that changed according to the theme of the songs, it was a very satisfying concert experience indeed.

And the crowd sang and danced with the boys for the rest of the night. The ear shattering screams of love and support from the fans made showed them how big their Filipino fan base is. We were actually deaf for an hour after the concert, but it was fun!

We were somewhat envious of the people in the lower box seats who were sitting beside the stage. They got to take home a lot of Bigbang's personal effects, like Daesung's jacket, towel, and shirt(??? not sure about the shirt), GD's t-shirt and towel, Taeyang's shirt... and others which we were not able to notice. Fans also handed them items to remember them by... I think a kind of rag doll/bean doll was handed to GD, a panda stuff toy to Seungri, and a special something to TOP ;) , and let's not forget, a ROCKING MEMORY from us crowd to them. :)

The concert ended on a high note with a very satisfying LONG encore performance and again TOP's solo dance... the boys expressed how much they've enjoyed their stay and  kept saying "Salamat" and "Mahal ko kayo"  apparently taught to them by our Sandara Park, 2NE1's Dara, which was by the way part of the crowd that night. :)

They left with the promise of coming back soon and very soon. Hopefully they do. :)

And of course, we went and bought our souvenir light sticks... though it's not the crown one... but then again... they did say that they'll be back... so here we go gathering funds for that next time for better seats and for better glow sticks. :)

Took a picture of Liz's stocking... she wore this to a party, never got a scratch... wore it to Bigbang concert and this is what happened. Oh, and we got to test Liz's La Senza stick on bras. After the heat of standing in line and the heat of the day, plus after all the jumping she did and the dancing, from 3 pm to 11 pm they stayed there reliably. So hoorah for them!

So there, tomorrow we'll be back to posting beauty related stuffs. And to our beloved BIGBANG... See you guys very soon! Do come back, we'll be here waiting. :)

Cheers,
DAWN and LIZ

Peachy Pink Sisters has a Facebook Page now!

Hey lovelies!

The Peachy Pink Sisters blog finally has a Facebook Page!

I wasn't really planning on making one because I was busy with school and too lazy to manage another page but now that my thesis is done and we are nearing 500 readers, why not make one, right?

We will be posting here more updates about me and Liz and our other shenanigans. hahaha. :P

I only made the page today so it's still kinda empty.

I also posted a like button at the left sidebar of the blog too! :)

In an unrelated note...

So this week, I've been obsessing with BigBang's new song, Bad Boy.
*BigBang's songs are the only Korean songs I listen to... and a few 2ne1 too. :P

Here's a link of the video. :P

KevJumba even tweeted about this. TeeHee. :P

And since I'm talking about BigBang, I'll be posting my first attempt on drawing my crush from the said group, TOP! ♥

I hope I did justice to his hotness. Haha! Anyway, I did this in a few hours.

And here are more pencil drawings I've done recently. All of these were done in less than 2 hours while I wait for some people. Haha. :P

So that's about it!

Hope you like my little drawings. And like our Facebook Page! Haha!

Cheers,
