4U2 Envy Matt Moisturizing Lipstick in 03

Hello dears!

I just got home from my first class in grad school. Yep! I'm in school again! I'm taking up my Masters in Fine Arts now. But I still have work in the day and attend classes at 6pm to 9pm twice a week.

And since I'm already pretty tired, I'll just make this post quick. :P

4U2 Envy Matte Moisturizing Lipstick in 03
This lippie is around Php 400.00 if I remember correctly...

Here's a product description from a Zalora website:

4U2 offers its new lipstick line that provides your lips the best moisturizing properties while giving you a matt finish. Look great day or night with 4U2 ENVY Moisturizing Lipstick #01. With an elegant range of colors, you can go from a casual daytime look to becoming a stunning diva in just a few minutes. Compact and handy, you can carry several colors in your purse and be ready for any event or occasion. It features a Mega Moisturizing Matt Lipstick with Vitamin E core cool new colors, smooth new matt formulation and It's Moisturizing Central! How to Apply: Apply Envy Moisturizing Lipstick gently to lips using soft strokes.

Not sure about how many shades this lipstick is available in but I picked this color because I was looking for that perfect nude pink lippie for me.
And this lipstick is matte which is a big plus for me since I'm loving mattes right now. And it says it's moisturizing and that's not the usual case when it comes to matte lippies so this got me curious.

The packaging is really good. It looks sophisticated. It looks more expensive than the amount you paid for it. ;)

Swatch on my arm

On my lips

The pigmentation is awesome. The color really pops out.
I wasn't able to take a closeup picture of the lipstick bullet but at the center, you will see that it's in a different color. It's because the center is like the lipbalm that contains  the moisturizing quality while the outside part is the matte lipstick. Neat, right? And oh, it's quite long lasting too!

Is it really moisturizing though? I say it's not completely drying but it's not moisturizing. It's not a lipbalm so don't expect that it will help with flaky or chapped lips. I still suggest that you apply your lip moisturizer prior to the application of this lipstick.

I would have liked it a lot but this isn't the nude pink that I was looking for. I want a little lighter tone for me. But I would say that this is a good lipstick and the shade would pretty much suit many skin tones.

Review : 4U2 DFY9 Liquid Eye Liner in Jet Black

Hey loves!

This is actually a long delayed review post. I bought this eye liner last January but I only opened it last April since I was finishing off some of my liquid liners before using a new one. :P

4U2 DFY9 Liquid Eye Liner in Jet Black
I can't remember how much I bought this. It's most probably around Php200-250.00.
I got this in Jet Black but it is still available in 2 other shades—Dark Brown and Blue.

Let's explore the labels first...

We can see the lot number, manufacturing date and expiration date...

There's also a short description, how to use and safety precautions...

As well as the list of ingredients and info about the brand and manufacturer.

The packaging is simple and sleek. The shape is like of a tear drop or a potion bottle but thinner. It's quite easy to carry around since it is not that bulky.

The brush is long which makes it easy to use and create a desired line whether you like it very thin or thick.

Below are the swatches:

With one stroke
It is very black, just the way I like my eyeliners. It dries fast as well upon application.
As you can see, it is easy for me to create a thin line using this liner which I usually use when I do the cat eyes wing.

When smudged a few times

When smudged when wet

With running water, it barely does any damage to the lines. But when I started rubbing it, it got smudged off easily. I guess it isn't waterproof. Oh well. :P

Here's the product in action on my eyes.

I just love doing that flick! Though it isn't that perfect on this particular look. :P

The eyeliner stays on perfectly on my eyes when I use powder eyeshadows with a primer underneath. But once my lids get oily, there's minimal smudging. It's worse when I don't use primer—I get the black line at the upper lid. And it gets disastrous when I use cream shadows. Haha! That's why I don't use creamy eyeshadows. :P

LIKES:
Affordable
Locally Available
It's really black
The finish doesn't look plastic-y/too shiny
Easy to use
Brush can easily do thin and thick lines
Dries fast when applied
Packaging

DISLIKES:
Smudges when my lids get oily

Would I buy again?
Most probably not. My lids are too oily for this. I need a stronger staying eye liner for this. But I do think this will work well with dry-normal skin types. :)

Do you use 4U2 DFY9 Liquid Eye Liner? Which shade?
What's your go-to liquid liner?

4U2 Posh 2 Way Brilliance Powder Foundation

Hi loves!

Happy Saturday!
Tonight, my mom will be back from her two week pilgrimage in Europe. I don't really know what she got me for my pasalubong but I'm just happy she'll be back soon. I'm excited to see her pictures from her new digicam. After all these years, she finally learned how to use a cam. I can't wait to check out the places where she went, especially the ones in Italy.

But anyway, let me just leave you with a short post about this sample size foundation powder I got last January...

4U2 Posh 2 Way Brilliance Powder Foundation

I got this for free when I bought some items from 4U2 in Watsons, Ayala Center, Cebu.

Here's what's labeled at the back:

This is available in 3 shades.

Though this is only a 2g sample, it has a small applicator. But it's too small for me so I don't use it. :P
It's like 1 inch long in all sides.

Here are the swatches:
on paper

on my arm

I like the shade I got because it's warm toned. It perfectly suits my yellow-toned skin. It feels lightweight and silky yet gives a medium coverage (can be heavier when applied with a wet sponge). I use this on top of a BB Cream and it performs rather well on my skin. Didn't experience caking, breakouts nor skin irritations. It doesn't have oil control though.

I'm not sure how much the full-size is and I'm not even sure if it's already available in its full-size.  I do like it and I would buy one if its affordable.

Have you tried 4U2's Posh 2 Way Brilliance Powder Foundation yet?
What about their other foundations?

Review : 4U2 Glitz Shimmer Mascara in Brown

Hello beauties!

Here's a quick review on one of the multi-functioning products I use right now...

4U2 Glitz Shimmer Mascara in Brown

This is around Php 224.00 each.

Here are some info from the packaging...

I bought this because I was looking for a good brow mascara for me to match my hair which sort of has this bronzy tone to it back then.
Why did I get this mascara instead of their brow mascara? Well, I tested it and it's actually effective! Besides that, they didn't have stock of the brow mascara from the brand. Haha! :P

So here's the applicator.
The shape makes application easy. The curve helps to apply the product in most areas of my lashes in a swipe and the thin tip helps reach the smaller lashes.

A swatch on paper...

and a swatch on my arm.

Here are shots of my lashes...

Bare lashes

with the product

As you can see, it definitely gave volume and somehow lengthened my lashes. Though not too obvious in the pictures, it gave a nice brown sheen to my lashes but not too much.

As a mascara, this doesn't smudge on me and lasts long. The formula isn't heavy too and is much easier to remove than some of the waterproof mascaras I've used before.

I still prefer using black mascaras for my lashes. I believe this is more suited for people with lighter colored hair that wants a more natural finish on their lashes.

So anyway, here's where I often use this product - on my brows.
I have thicker brow hair that I have to color to match my hair and this product helps a lot in achieving that.

What I do is...

I line my brows with my brow liner to fill in the empty spaces and shape them nicely.

Then color the brow hair with this mascara.

And that's all! My brows aren't as dark anymore!
What's great about this is that it doesn't smudge as well even if I sweat or when my skin gets too darn oily provided that you don't rub it off.

I like that this is also affordable and locally available (mostly at Watsons and online shops).

My only downside on this product is that it can get messy at the tip of the tube because the product piles up there when you take the brush out. So try to wipe that area after using.

So have you tried 4U2 Glitz Shimmer Mascara in Brown yet?
What do you think about it?

Cheers!

Pinkie Swear Haul

Hi everyone!

A few days ago, I was in Cebu for the Sinulog with my sister and friends.
Before heading back to Manila, we had lunch at Ayala Center, Cebu and I did a few window shoppings that led to a few purchases. :P

So while I was browsing stuff at Watsons, I saw this pink stall with all the pink packaging and thought that it was cute. I interviewed the SA and found out that the brand is called Pinkie Swear Collection or Pinkies Collection and it is a sister company of James Cooper Makeup.

The products are very affordable! Cheaper than James Cooper. The packaging of the products is a mixture of pink and black. Most of the cases look a lot like MAC's but of cheaper quality. Though it is really a good buy considering the price.

I bought their bestseller, the makeup base. I have quite a number of makeup bases/primers already but the flavour, Milk, sold it for me.
I also bought a matte lipstick, shade is Champagne Bubble and a cute eyeshadow in Salmon. The SA even gave me a free eyeshadow case and eco bag! Yayyy!
Will make reviews on this so hope you wait for them! :D

I also bought a few more items because the SA's there are soooooo nice and accommodating.

4U2 DFY9 Liquid Eyeliner
4U2 Glitz Shimmer Mascara in Brown
and I also got a free sample of 4U2 Posh 2 Way Foundation! Yayyy!

And finally bought 4 Watsons Mini Wet Wipes
and
Glam Works Hand Cream in Sweet Berries which are in a promo! Buy 1 Take 1! Oh yeah!

When I left Watsons, I also bought some 'pasalubong' for my friends here in Manila. I wasn't able to take pictures though. Oh well! :P

That's all!
I really enjoyed the week long vacation I spent in Cebu and Bohol. Definitely hoping for a next time!

Cheers!

Review : 4U2 DreamGirl Faith BB Cream

Hello Beauties!

How was your Halloween?
Mine was a bit boring but I am looking forward to pampering myself this long weekend. It's also the time to write more reviews! I apologize for doing very short posts most of the time lately... I've been really tired.

So anyway, first off on my reviews to share with you is...

4U2 DreamGirl Faith BB Cream

It's Php184.00 at Watsons but I think I bought it for less since it was on sale. I can't remember how much exactly though.

It was so affordable that I just bought it. It says it's a BB cream so I gave it a try. I didn't expect much on this item though since it's price is so cheap. :P

The packaging is... well, not really anything great. Something you'd expect to get with a very cheap price I guess..

At the back of the tube, this is what you see:

And here's what's on the container of the tube:

It's great that they indicated the manufacturing and expiration dates. It also helps that they list the direction, precautionary advices, and the ingredients.

But I don't really know why they call it a BB cream... I think, as I read the description, it's just like an ordinary tinted moisturizer. And it only comes in one shade... well, most BB creams come in like 2-3 shades anyway.

But anyway, let's see how it works...

The product is easy to squeeze out...

Here's a small amount of product on the back of my hand

When blended

It blends well on skin. Not too creamy but not too runny. It smells just fine too. No strong scent.

Here are before and after pictures of my cheeks:

It has medium coverage which surprised me. I didn't use any primer nor concealer here. I'm quite lucky that it blends with the shade of my skin nicely. But with a coverage like that, I don't think it would look good on people with skin way lighter or darker than mine.

The finish is matte which I like since I am not a fan of dewy finishes. It has a warm shade too so it looks natural on my Asian skin.
After 4 hours, my makeup is still looking good but getting really oily already even though I stayed in an air-conditioned room. I guess lasting power of the product is pretty decent but no oil control.

LIKES
♥ Affordable
♥ Locally Available
♥ Decent Coverage
♥ Decent staying power
♥ Warm toned
♥ Smells okay
♥ Easy to blend

DISLIKES
♥ It's not really a BB Cream for me... more like just a Tinted Moisturizer
♥ Would appreciate more if it had some SPF
♥ I am not a fan of the package design
♥ No Oil control
♥ Comes in 1 shade only

Will I buy again?
Though it is very, VERY affordable... I don't think I will. It's something that didn't really impressed me that much for me to buy it again. I like experimenting and I want to try more products anyway. :P

So have you tried 4U2 DreamGirl Faith BB Cream yet?
What other 4U2 products have you tried/ would you recommend?

Cheers!

FOTD : A Pop of Blue

 Hello everyone.

I hope you are all doing fine.
The weather has been vicious even though it's not even a typhoon.
The amount of water generated by these heavy rains is already comparable to the infamous  Typhoon Ondoy last 2009.

We didn't have any electricity for 26 hours and the flood even got in our house which rarely happens. So to all of our readers, please stay safe and pray for better weather soon.

Anyway, to make the day a little less depressing,
I will share with you guys a look i sported a few days ago.
I was in the mood to play with my eye shadow and I just wanted a pop of color on my eyes.
I was already wearing blue so I went with that color.

My current Facebook profile photo! Haha!

Most of the makeup I used were in peaches and blues.

MAKEUP USED:

Face:
The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser Primer
4U2 DreamGirl Faith BB Cream
In2It 2-Way Foundation in Warm Beige
Tony Moly Baby Doll Pot Concealer in Shade 2 Natural Beige

For the eyes I just want a sudden pop of blue on them.

Eyes:
Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer
Etude House Drawing Eye Brow in Brown
Etude House Color My Brows in 3
Garnier Light BB Eye Roll-On
Prestige Eyeliner in Rhapsody
Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara
Urban Decay Book of Shadows III : I♥NYC
DollFace Cosmetics Gel Liner in Navy Blue
Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Hyperliner in Broken Doll

Cheeks:
Etude House My Wish Cheek in #3 Celebrity Peach

Lips:
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Petal

Phew... and here are more vain shots of me!!

That's all for this FOTD post. I keep using bold lipsticks that I rarely play around with eye shadows lately. Quite happy with this look and even if the color blue is quite bold, I still do think it's quite wearable in a casual happy day. Haha!

Again, keep safe guys and try your best to relax in this uber rainy day.

Cheers!

Review : 4U2 DFY9 Liquid Eye Liner Pen

 Hello, makeup lovers!

I've been using a lot of gel liners lately that I started missing using liquid liners, particularly liner pens. They are just so easy to use - just shake, take off cap, and apply! Less hassle than using a gel liner.

So as I was strolling around Watsons SM San Lazaro checking out what's new in the market, I saw this liquid eye liner pen from 4U2. I only have a handful of 4U2 products so I thought, why not try more, right?

 The pen costs Php314.00

The packaging is really nice. I really like it! Very youthful and edgy yet still has the glam side to it.

I got it in Jet Black.

Here are some info of the product from the box:

What really convinced me to buy it is that the brush is really thin. Great for creating really fine lines.

 See what I mean?

Anyway, here's a swatch on the side of my hand:

I tried smudging it and here's what happened:

Then I poured water on it...

So much for their claim of it being water resistant. :/

Here's the product applied:

I only lined the product once on the pictures. But you can make it darker by reapplying it.

I didn't get any irritation. I usually get those when I use liquid liners but this one didn't cause me any of that.

I actually like the finish but I prefer it to be more matte. It's still a bit shiny for my taste.

I used it when I went to a job interview. I was in a car and the office was fully air conditioned so when I got back home, the liner was still there and is clean - no smudges at all. But the next day during another interview, I had to commute going home. It was raining and I didn't have time to look at myself in the mirror so when I got back home, my eyeliner was all over my eyes! It smudged on the lids and below my eyes. It was a disaster. I can just imagine myself in a jeepney looking like a panda. :(

I guess it's not ideal for the weather lately, huh?
I'm quite disappointed with the product because of what happened a few days ago. I bet it wouldn't be good on people with oily lids too.

Likes:
♥ Easy to use
♥ Buildable
♥ Dries fast when applied
♥ Quite affordable
♥ Locally available
♥ Love the packaging
♥ No irritation

Dislikes:
♥ Not really water resistant
♥ Not fit for oily lids

That's all for this product. Will I buy again? Sadly, no. I like my liners waterproof! I don't mind the hard labor to remove it. I just hate having my liners smudging on my face.
I guess I'll use this for some quick makeover or photoshoots only. For everyday use, I'll stick with my tried and tested ones!

Cheers!
