Nichido Final Powder in Creamy Glow (I'm a New Fan!)

Hello loves!

I'm a fan of loose powders. I like a bit of pigment because I do the baking technique to achieve a "glow" whenever I put on my makeup. One of the powders I use for baking is the Ben Nye Banana Powder. I've used bottles of that powder and although I'm satisfied with the product's performance, I'm willing to try ones from different brands.

I've been seeing really good reviews of this product from Nichido, but I keep forgetting to buy one whenever I go to a mall until a couple of months ago...

Nichido Minerals Precise Eye Pencil in Walnut

Hey dears!

My mom had her brow tattooed some years back and now the color has faded and the tattoo is now greyish (sometimes bluish). My mom doesn't use makeup regularly—face powder and lipstick are the only things she apply. She recently wanted to add another cosmetic to her very minimal makeup routine and that's the eyebrow pencils just so her brows don't look too awkward. This is what she (usually I because I apply it for her) uses:

The price of this product is PhP 138.00 when bought last December.

December (2017) Haul — Yay for Christmas Shopping!

Hey everyone!

The holidays might be over but I'm still enjoying some of the things that I got from the events that happened last month. One of the things that definitely made me extra giddy last Christmas is the huge sales from different shop! Haha! I'm glad that we had extra money for spending so I was able to get some stuff for me to use. Let me share what items I was able to get so you know what to  expect on my future blog product reviews...

Marks and Spencer Shea Butter Cream Bath - PhP 350.00

Marks and Spencer Floral Collection Silky Talcum Powder in Rose - PhP 295.00

The prices I posted are their regular prices but I got these at 20% off. They had a promo which lasted for only three days on all regular priced items. The sale happened from December 25-27, 2017.

FOTD: Pastel Love

Hey Ladies!

Been a while since I last posted an FOTD.

I know that spring is nearly coming to an end (and yes, I am aware that we don't have spring in the Philippines) but I just have to do a makeup using pastel colors since it is in-trend this season. Liz wanted to do it on her but we haven't gotten around to taking pics and all, plus she's in Canada right now and didn't bring much makeup with her... So I did the FOTD myself.

I like pastels but not on my face. I am more into the dramatic kind of makeup so I rarely wear any pastel colors.

Anyway, here's my FOTD:

FACE:

Missha M Shiny B.B Cream
Missha The Style Silky Soft Foundation in No. 2
Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer
Tony Moly Baby Doll Pot Concealer in Shade 2 Natural Beige
Fanny Serrano Two Way Cake in Chino

EYES:

Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer
Etude House Drawing Eye Brow in Brown
Etude House Color My Brows in 3
Dollface Cosmetics 88 pcs Eye Shadow Palette
Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara
Wet 'N Wild ColorIcon Eyeliner in White
Wet 'N Wild ColorIcon Eyeliner in Amethyst
T. Le Clerc Paris Eye Pencil (cant remember which shade)
In2It Liquid Eyeliner in Dark Violet
Nichido Gorgeous Eye Pencil in Pink Diamond

CHEEKS:

The Body Shop Rose Flower Blush
Etude House Face Color Corset in #3 Lavender Veil Finish

LIPS:
Chanel Rouge Coco in Magnolia

Here's a very closed-up picture of the whole look:

My face looks odd in the photo. It's just that this is the most decent one in the bunch that you can clearly see the makeup. I was in a rush to take photos since I was going out to eat dinner with the family and they were already waiting for me.

So what do you think of pastels on my face?
Should I wear more pastels?

Cheers,
DAWN

Review : Nichido Spot Concealer

Happy Hearts Day, everyone!

How was your Valentines?
Me? I just stayed at home doing the finishing touches on my thesis. The day after tomorrow will be my thesis defense... so wish me luck! :)

Since I am having a boring valentines evening,
I'll just do a short review for you guys... not that it would make the evening exciting... probably just so I can do something non-thesis-related. Haha...

Anyway, the product I will be reviewing is...

Nichido Mineral/Spot Concealer in Natural

This concealer pencil is actually my sister's. I borrow it time to time if I needed to bring concealer since it's very portable. I don't really use much concealers since I use heavy coverage foundations already.

So more about the product:

It's Php138.00 and available locally (I bought this from Watsons beauty section).
net wt. 0.04oz/ 1.14g

It says it :
is Water resistant
is Allergy Tested
contain silica, mica and zinc oxide

and here's a swatch:
Left : 1 stroke
Right : Smudged once

It's very opaque but it can be blended. Although I've used some concealers that are easier to blend.

Here's a before and after picture of the product applied to cover a dark spot caused by acne on my cheek:
It covered the dark area but the color of the concealer is slightly too yellow for my skin.

I've seen some that uses this to brighten up their eye's waterline, unfortunately, it irritates my eyes. :(

And using this to conceal the dark circles of your under eyes is a big no-no! It's not creamy enough and I really think that's it's only for concealing small areas.

And for the lasting power, if you're very oily-skinned like me, you might have to re-apply once in a while... I always wipe my face with oil control sheets or tissue so the product also gets rubbed off.

So overall, I think it's a good product for something very affordable. It does cover the specific areas that needed concealing. Although I would prefer it a little more creamy. :)

Have you tried this out yet? Thoughts?

Anyway, back to watching some series for the rest of my Valentines evening.
Again, Happy hearts day to those with their special someone and happy single awareness day to the rest! Haha!

Cheers,

A Saturday of Eating and Shopping

My tita's friend and her daughter and her daughter's friend (phew!) came to the Philippines from Australia a few days ago. My sister stayed in their place when she was enrolling to one of the universities in Australia so now that they're here, we went out and treat them at Mall of Asia.

We got there around 4 in the afternoon. We decided to grab cakes and coffee at our favorite dessert place, Chocolat. I super love their cheesecakes and milkshakes. Also a favorite from there is their Death by Tablea.

We went shopping for a while. They were buying a lot! Around 6-8 pairs of shoes, bags of clothes and so on! While I, on the other hand, bought art materials for an oil painting I've been planning to do. :P My sis and I also went to Watsons to buy some toiletries and makeup (will be posting the stuff we bought later on this post).
For dinner, we went to Gumbo.
When we have no idea where to eat or if we aren't in the mood to experiment on trying a new restaurant, we always go for Gumbo. We really like the food there, especially their Baked Artichoke Formaggio and Strawberry and Chocolate Cheesecake! :P

A shot of our orders. That's quite a lot for us. We weren't able to finish it so we got it wrapped. Every dish was very DELISH!

Oh, and we also played with the crazy hats there! Haha! :)

So here's our little haul from Watsons.

My sister, Trace, bought the following (she's going to Australia and staying there for a loooooong while so she has to stock up on makeup since most of the makeup she uses are priced higher there):

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara
(She was jealous of mine so she bought one for herself)

2 Nichido Black Liquid Liners
Nichido Spot Concealer in Natural

A Bonne Salt Scrub and Myra Vita White Whitening Face Lotion

Wet 'n Wild i-Shimmer

Fanny Serrano Two-Way Cake in Chino
(The other one is mine)

And I wanted to buy a cute blush but I didn't find anything of my liking today. So I just bought these:
3 Eyeliners from Wet 'n Wild:
MegaChrome Eyeliner Pencil Crayon Ligneur in 150
Idol Eyes Creme Shadow Pencil in 130 Pixie
ColorIcon Eyeliner in 661C Amethyst

Celeteque Toner and Cyleina Soaps

And my purchase from a seller in Girltalk already arrived! Yaaaay!
MAC DSquared2 Sculpt and Shape Powder in Bone Beige Emphasize
So excited to use this new baby of mine. ♥
And before I end this post, I saw this earlier!!!
This is where Marionnaud in Mall of Asia used to be situated. Why is it gone?!?
Anyone knows if it's gone for good or is it just under renovation?
I wish it's just the latter.

Cheers,

Haul Before the Semester Starts

My sem break is about to come to an end and classes for the 2nd sem of this school year will officially start tomorrow (I don't want to go to school yet!!!). So we went shopping at Watsons to restock on necessities since we will be busy with school.

We also visited Etude House. We haven't tried any of their products yet so we were eager to buy some.

Etude Proof 10 Eye Primer

2 Etude Drawing Eye Brow in Brown

and they even included a freebie -- a sachet of Peel so good foam cleanser!

And here are the items we bought from Watsons:

 Maybelline Extreme Lash Stiletto Mascara

Nichido Black liquid Liner -- We've been addicted to thick-lined K-pop-ish eye makeup so eyeliners are our present favorite makeup. :P

Ever Bilena Advance Glitter Eyeshadow in Luscious Pink

Ever Bilena Advance Eyeshadow 5 Shades in Sunset Cafe -- I saw this and thought that it looks a lot like Dior Eyeshadow palettes and surprisingly, I find it very pigmented so I bought one. It's only Php120.00 anyway. :P

and some toiletries from conditioners to body salts. :P

The shoe box at the back was for free since we bought something included in the promo.

They even gave us a Watson's Beauty Magazine called What's on. It includes interesting articles and coupons that we can use on future Watsons purchases. :)

FOTD: Orange Madness!!!

This post is dedicated to my dear classmate, Angela. She keeps on insisting that orange is a color for the "cool" people but for me, it's my least favorite in the color wheel. :P

So because I super like arguing with Angela about orange, I had this idea of just trying the color out on my face and that it's gonna be an FOTD post! :P

So here's what orange looks on me:

Although I do think that orange does look quite good on me. Haha!

I dug deep among my collection of makeup to find those with orange tones and here they are:

Face:
MAC Studio Fix Liquid Foundation in NC 25
Ever Bilena Mousse Concealer in Pure Beige
Fashion 21 Loose Powder in No.1

Cheeks:
Benefit in Georgia
Fashion 21 Blush in No. 4

Eyes:
Dollface 88 eyeshadow palette
Majolica Majorca Jewelry Eyes in RD784
Maybelline the Magnum Volum' Express Macara\
Maybelline BrowDefinist in Brown
Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Brown

Lips:
San San Soleil Lipstick in Peach Ibiza
Avon Simply Pretty Lipgloss in Coral

And I even used orange nail polish (Angela, see how much I love you? LOL)!

On Nails:
San San Soleil Nail Polish in Tangerine Burst

This look kind of made me like the color --- a little bit. LOL. So what do you think about the color Orange?
