The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain in Pink Hibiscus 001

Hello loves!

Are you a fan of The Body Shop's Lip and Cheek Stain?
I know for a fact that their lip and cheek stains are one of their bestsellers in the Philippines and most of my friends who are also makeup enthusiasts have used this before.

This year, The Body Shop added more shades for us to try and they're also in this cutie-size tube! There are nine shades for us to play with and I currently have one of them...

The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain in Pink Hibiscus 001

The product was sent to me by TBS Philippines along with products from their British Rose skincare range.

Info from the website
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A lightweight, long-lasting, cheeky kiss of color for your lips and cheeks. This gluten-free is enriched with moisturizing Community Trade Aloe for protection and comfort that lasts all day.

FOR LIPS – Using the wand provided, apply on bare lips and blend using either the wand or your fingers.

FOR CHEEKS – Apply on the apples of your cheeks and use your fingers, to blend. This product can be applied on bare skin or over your cream/powder make-up base.

I think that what made The Body Shop's Lip and Cheek Stain such a popular and well-loved product is its affordability, long-lasting quality, its multifunctional, and it doesn't dry up your lips.

Before the emergence of so many makeup brands carrying tints, The Body Shop's has been there and I think it will continue to be a trusted product for years to come.

That being said, I'm glad that the brand tries to innovate this well-loved product by introducing more shades!

This shade I have here, Pink Hibiscus, is pretty close to their most popular shade Rose Pink.

The quality of the new tints is almost the same except the featured ingredient here is Honey while the tint has Marula Oil.

It has a doe-foot applicator. It can carry enough product to cover my lips. The packaging is pretty simple and I like that it's clear so that we have an idea of the shade we're getting.

Here's a swatch

It has a lovely natural-looking tint. It dries pretty quickly so you better blend fast.

Once it sets, it will last a loooong time!

Here's my face with the product both applied on the lips and cheeks.

I applied quite a lot on the cheeks so that the camera will capture the shade. Haha! For the lips, I had to do 2-3 coats so that it will give me this rosy finish.

It looks very natural if you put on the right amount and it is very lightweight—like you aren't wearing any at all! I like that it acts as both blush and lip color so it's a great travel buddy!

What do you think of this product? Have you tried the other shades? Which one?

Cheers,

Bloom Lip Gloss in Girlie

Hey dears!

I'm fond of shopping discounted products so whenever I enter a store, I always check if they have a promo on-going. Two weekends ago, I went to Beauty Bar, Glorietta 2 and was in luck that they had items on sale. There weren't much that got my interest but there's one that I just had to buy just because of the shade's name.

Bloom Lip Gloss

And the shade is...
GIRLIE

It's sort of an inside joke in our office. My workmates were laughing when I brought the lippie the next work day after buying this. I would love to share why it's funny but I better not. Lol

Anyway, I'll just share a swatch post on this lipgloss. :P

I bought this for only Php 253.75. Regular Price was Php 398.75.

I think I've mentioned in my Firsts post that my first ever lipgloss that I bought was from Bloom. It was during my 3rd year in high school and I was 15 years old. And this particular lipgloss is only my second lipgloss from the brand. It took 9 years before I bought another!

I do like Bloom's glosses. They smell fantastic and moisturizing. The shades are pretty and the texture is good. I guess I'm just not into glosses! I'm a lipstick girl all the way!

One of my 'cons' for this lip gloss is the applicator. It doesn't hold much products so I had to dip around 4-5 times so I can get the amount of gloss I want for my lips. :P

So here are pictures of my lips with the Bloom Lip Gloss in Girlie:

Girlie is pretty plain and simple. Just adds that healthy pink glow on the lips with very fine glitters. I probably would just ignore it if it weren't for the name. I like my lippies very pigmented after all. But I guess having a simple lipgloss in my stash is nice... :P

So I guess that's all. What do you think of Bloom Lip Gloss in Girlie? :)

Collection Hotlights Lipgloss in Glow

Hey loves!

Are you the kind of girl who loves to party? Then this lipgloss is just for you!

Collection Hotlights Lipgloss
Php 345.00

The shade I got is number 5, Glow.

I got this 6ml tube from Sample Room. Here are some info from Sample Room's website:

Collection’s Hotlights Lipgloss is this season’s essential beauty buy for perfect gloss application on the go. These dazzling new glosses smooth lips with stunning megawatt shine thanks to its non-sticky, shimmering particles that leave lips looking superstar sexy in no time.
Whether you’re heralding the popular 40s-inspired red lip or playing coral queen this holiday, Collection’s Hotlights Lipgloss comes in six, sassy shades to match.
Available at:
COLLECTION IS AVAILABLE IN SELECT DEPARTMENT STORES, THE RAMP FASHION STORES AND ONLINE VIA ZALORA (http://www.zalora.com.ph/women/beauty/make-up/collection-colour-cosmetics) AND LAZADA (http://www.lazada.com.ph/shop-makeup/collection/).

Packaging is pretty simple. It just looks like any other lipgloss. But I'm a fan of the fonts used for the design.

Except for the back label. It's plain and boring.

But what is more interesting about the packaging are the following...

It is equipped with a mirror and...

The wand/doe applicator has a built-in flashlight!

It's just perfect for those who love the night life! I just dunno how you can get it to work when the batteries for the light are up. :P

So here's a swatch on the arm,

and on the lips.

It has beautiful, fine, gold glitters that give the soft pink shade that warmth and glowing look. It kind of reminds me of NARS Orgasm, don't you agree?

I like that it's not sticky but not a fan of the lasting-power. It's pretty sheer so it looks great when you use it to top off your lipstick or other lip products.

So I guess that's all that I can say about this product. I like the shade but I don't think I'd buy again just because I prefer lipsticks over lipglosses. Good thing I got it for free at Sample Room (I only paid for the shipping)! :D

Review : Holika Holika Pro Beauty Tinted Rouge in Red Carpet

Hello ladies!

The holiday festivities aren't over yet! The new year is getting closer so why not celebrate the last few days of 2013 with a lippie that can handle all the partying and eating this holiday season.

Holika Holika Pro:Beauty Tinted Rouge (Php 485.00)
This was sent to me by Holika Holika, Philippines a couple of months ago.
This product is available in 10 shades.

The shade I got is Red Carpet.
Super love that I got this because I LOVE red lipsticks. :D

Some info from one of their websites:
I'm a fan of the packaging. It looks so sleek and professional. A little different from the usual cute look of Korean cosmetics but in a good way.

This product is soft of like a lipstain so it's not the usual lipstick with a bullet but it has the same pigmentation or boldness of color and it's not as thick and sticky as a lipgloss, and unlike glosses, it has really, really good staying power.

I also like the applicator because of the hole at the center. It stores enough amount of product for the whole lips. No need to double-triple dip to get that beautiful red shade!

Swatch on paper

Swatch on hand (1 stroke)

On my lips

It has a rosy smell which is one of my favorite scents. LOVE IT!

This product has a creamy, bold red finish that I absolutely adore. Like I said, I love red lipsticks! It looks so sophisticated and sexy. Rawr! But I've read in some reviews that lighter shades need around 2 or more layers to achieve an opaque finish. But with this one, you get this luscious red color with one layer. I guess it still varies with the thickness of the lips. :P

Here's what it looked like on my lips after 5 hours. I even ate lunch and it's still there! Awesome, right?

Lasting power is very impressive as seen on the photo. Plus, even if it's long-lasting and pigmented, it didn't dry my lips nor caused any chapping.

What I LIKE :

- Long-lasting
- Rosy scent
- No drying/chapping
- Pigmented
- Available in 10 shades
- Not sticky
- Affordable
- Packaging

What I DON'T LIKE :

- Availability is limited. Hopefully Holika Holika can open more stores soon. But I believe you can order online if you are far away from SM Fairview. :)

Would I buy again? I probably will try the other shades too such as Dream Girl or Baby Coral. :D

So what are your thoughts on Holika Holika's Pro Beauty Tinted Rouge in Red Carpet? Would you wear a red shade like this or do you prefer pink or nude ones?

NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in New Lover

Good evening ladies,

Sharing with you my mom's recent fave lip buddy, NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in New Lover.

I have to say, for someone that's not at all a big fan of make-up, my mom does get a lot of great make-up stuff from her kikay friend. Well, I couldn't very well ask her to give this to me since it's she only ever gets to wear lipstick/gloss as her make-up fix. And she's a stick-to-one kind of gal to.

The whole packaging is quite straight forward and very sophisticated looking. I do like the idea that it's a lip pencil, since it's easier to know when you need to get a new one. Plus it looks a lot cleaner than the ones in tube and all.

The color is quite intense from the way it looks here, but when applied...

it's a sheer pink glow to your lips. Since it is a gloss, there's that little shine. I love how the pencil looks so ordinary and cream-y like a eyeliner yet when applied, it gives your lips that naturally moist (not sure if that's the right term), healthy glow.

I guess that's what my mom loves about it too because she'd insist on wearing this no matter what type of make-up look you do on her (which can be quite frustrating when the colors do not really match each other).

Hope you liked this short swatch post... Have a great night!

Cheers,
LIZ

Nature Republic Collagen Pop Glosses in Sugar Candy and Sugar Red

Hey guys!

Like sweet scented lippies?
Well I have some right here and they smell AND taste sweet, plus they have sparkles! It's every kikay kid's dream! I can hear my 8 year old self screaming, "I want one!!"

Nature Republic Collagen Pop Glosses

The price is Php 285.00 each.
Not sure if this is still available. I can't seem to find this in Nature Republic websites. When I bought one of these, it was already on sale so I dunno if they were just finishing the last stocks. I guess it's best if you ask the SA's in stores. :P

I got 2 shades—Sugar Candy and Sugar Red.

Some info I saw from one online store site:

Capacity : 6g

-Marine Collagen from Deep-Sea Fish and red Seaweed
-marine collagen filling spheres help to increase lip fullness, immediately and over time.

Collagen POP Gloss is a moisturizing treatment gloss that sugar lips instantly. It includes tiny, dehydrated, marine collagen microspheres. Immediately absorbed by the lips, creating a mild swelling effect in the lip tissue. The result is fuller, smoother, perfectly lovely lips in seconds.

How to use :
Take a small amount and apply from the center of your lips with the tip, gently spread it evenly.

Available in 5 shades:
Color : 02 Sugar Candy ,03 Sugar Cherry ,04 Sugar Berry ,05 Sugar Red

Here's a closeup of the applicator.
It looks kinda thin but it holds a decent amount of product.

Swatches on my arm

Sugar Candy has a light peachy pink shade while the other, Sugar Red, is... well, red! Both give great color payoff but are still translucent for a milder, sweeter look. The glitters are fine and you don't feel any grittiness when you press your lips together.

Below are pictures the glosses on my lips:

Sugar Candy

Sugar Red

I especially love Sugar Candy because it looks sooooo cute! I love the scent and these glosses are just yummy! Haha! That makes it difficult to test the lasting power because I can't stop licking them off. Hahaha! But I guess it lasts the same as most glosses—probably a couple of hours or as soon as you eat/drink. Dunno about the plumping effect... I don't notice it on me. :P

So what do you think of super sweet smelling and tasting glosses?
Any thoughts on Nature Republic Collagen Pop Glosses?

Cheers,
