Missha The Style 4D Mascara

Hey dears!

Sharing with you a late post. I was supposed to write this a few weeks after the holidays but it slipped my mind.

This is a product that I received when I was sent an Althea Box limited edition box last December...

Missha The Style Eye Prime Boomer in Yellow

Hey gorgeous!

Just sharing a short review on this product I bought several months ago. Actually, I was considering not to push through with this post but I decided to share my experience with this product whether it is good or bad.

Missha The Style Eye Prime Boomer in Yellow
I can't really remember how much I bought this... my guess is somewhere around Php 400.00? Not sure though.

As some of you know, I love applying eye shadows and I've grown to love eye shadow primers because they make the eye makeup stand out more and stay longer. They became a must in my makeup routine and that's why I love trying out different brands to see what works best which led me to buying this product.

Info on the package:

Info from the website:

Brighten up those dark-colored eye areas and dark circles.
The yellow colored eye primer helps eyes look bright by covering up redness and dark areas.
It has a soft texture with excellent adhering effect. Containing Hollyhook extract, it is well absorbed and adhered to eye areas. For moisturizing effect, Aloe extract soothes and moisturizes your delicate skin.

The product looks like this. I don't know if there's a separate proper container for this that you can buy because you only get a cheap, see-thru plastic compact.

It's not at all sturdy and can get easily deformed. I don't want to remove it from the plastic container because since it is cream-based, it can easily accumulate dirt and bacteria. But oh well. Just be extra careful with it.

This comes in two colors—yellow and beige. The one I have is yellow.

They are actually pigmented for a primer because it actually helps brighten the eyes and help conceal dark circles around the eye area. The coverage is not as heavy as concealers but it helps a lot when you put this under a concealer. I guess the yellow shade is for warm, light skin while the beige one is for cooler skin undertone.

And oh, the Eye Prime Boomer has a lovely matte finish.

Above pic is a photo of swatches of one of my eyeshadows. The right one is with the primer while the other is just the plain eyeshadow.

As you can see, the Eye Prime Boomer really enhanced the color of the eyeshadow. The pigments really adhered to the primer. It also made the application smoother. Everything seems to be great except after wearing it after a couple of hours. I have oily lids and my eyeshadow (I used my UD ones) just creased like crazy. Like I didn't wear any primer! Two hours is just too short of a time for my eyeshadow to crease and this happened again after I tried it the second and the third time. I think this is one of the worse primers I've tried when it comes to making the eye makeup last longer. It just didn't help at all. :(

The product was a disappointment. I fell in-love with the matte finish but how it made my eye shadow crease earlier than normal is just too bad. *sigh* I don't know if it's because my lids are just too darn oily but I doubt that because this don't happen when I use UDPP or my Too Faced eyeshadow primer. :(

Have you tried eye primers that disappointed you as much? Which ones?

Missha The Style Eyeliner Pencil in White

Hey dearies!

I was supposed to post a review on a BB Cream today but I got home late so we'll just have to settle with a swatch post again. :P

Missha The Style Eyeliner Pencil in White
Bought this some months ago at their branch in SM North. Unfortunately, I can't remember how much it is. I'm guessing it's around Php 200?

Some info from the website:

01 Features

The Style Eyeliner Pencil

- Pencil type eyeliner, easy to use even for beginner.
- Soft, creamy and long lasting
- Softly glides on the sensitive eye area without irritation, smudging and
smearing.

Color: Black, Brown, White

02 Ingredients

- Botanical ingredients: wrinkle prevention and skin protection from lipoper odixation and extreme skin sensitivity.

03 How To Use

- Apply along the upper or lower lash lines.

*Tip
- Sharpen Eye Definer with MISSHA The style pencil sharpener and
between each use to prevent the spreading of bacteria
- For a softer or smoky look, smudge the line with MISSHA Smudgy brush.
To make eyes appear bigger, try lining the lower eyelid (or on the waterlines) with Eyeliner pencil : White.
This is the pencil

swatch on hand

It's pigmented and matte. I did that in just one stroke.

Used it to line my inner rim.

I just learned recently that it is better not to line the entire rim like I did in the pic. Just line middle area covering two-thirds of the rim.

The staying power is pretty decent. It can stay on my inner rims for 2-3 hours. I haven't used it on my lids yet (I find white lines on the lids awkward) so I can't say much about that.

That's that I guess... There's nothing too special with this product. It functions well but I know there are other pencils of the same quality that are much affordable.

Have you tried Missha's The Style Eyeliner Pencil?

Review : Missha The Style Silky Soft Foundation

Hi dears!

We've read your posts on our Facebook Page and saw that most of you would like us to post more product reviews. And that, we shall!

For today's post, I'll share my thoughts on...

Missha The Style Silky Soft Foundation

I got it in shade no. 21 - Natural Beige.

I bought this some months ago for around 50-70% off for only Php150.00 but I think it's regular price is around Php480.00 for this 35ml tube.

The back of the tube contains some product description, directions, ingredients and lifespan which is 12 months.

Here are additional descriptions from the Lazada Website:

Get ready for a night out with friends. Sport a party-ready look with Missha’s The Style Silky Soft Base! This easy-to-apply product gives your skin a smooth and radiant finish that will make you stand out. It also controls sebum absorption to keep oil and grease from ruining your perfect moment.

Be the star of the night! Get noticed with stand-out skin from Missha!

  • Perfect for covering blemishes and evens skin tone with a natural coverage
  • Strongly controls and absorbs sebum, as well as controls oil
  • Gives a light and fresh finish that leaves skin lustrous and radiant

So on to the review...

I think the shade is perfect for my asian skin since it has the warm yellow tone. It has a nice, mild scent - sort of herbal or floral... can't really pinpoint what exactly.

It has a thin, almost watery consistency that makes it so easy to blend. It also dries fast on skin. Though it is mostly matte, it also has the luminous finish that makes the skin radiant.

Just look at these before and after photos of my cheek:

The coverage is really good and it really suits my skin well. It didn't leave my skin looking flat too. It is long-lasting but I might have to disagree with the strong oil control part since my face gets oily pretty quickly when I use this. Also, if you have dry skin, it tends to cake so be sure to get your skin well-moisturized before using this.

What I like about it:

Matches my skin with its warm tone
Good coverage
Nice, mild scent
Locally available
No breakouts/irritations
Long-lasting
Radiant Effect
Affordable

What I don't like about it:

Lacks the oil control part
Has tendency to cake, especially with dry skin
Available in few shades - I only know 2 shades (#13 Light Beige and #21 Natural Beige)

Will I buy again?
Probably not. I like it but not as much as some of the foundations I've used for so long. I'm willing to try other products and brands too.

Have you tried Missha The Style Silky Soft Foundation yet?
What do you think about it?

Cheers!

Review: Missha The Style Silky Soft Base in Green

Hello ladies,

This will be my last post before I'm airborne. We bought a lot of Missha stuff lately. I bought the Missha The Style Silky Soft Base in Green and have given it a good try. Dawn currently has the Missha foundation and for the first look, I used that as my foundation.

So here's my bare face. Sorry about the big pimple on my forehead. I was sleeping at our sofa for quite sometime because of the heat.

Here's a swatch of the Missha make up base.

Here it is spread over the arm.

Here's my face with the make up base applied on. As you can see, the redness  over my foredhead, side of my nose and some on my cheeks, have been reduced.

As I said earlier, we used the Missha foundation.

And here's my face with the foundation applied on. Still, sorry about the zit.

I've also tried the make up base without putting foundation and just a loose powder on top.
No foundations just loose powder. :)

Also tried using a different foundation with it.

Lastly, tried it on different people with different skin type...
Here's my mom, she says she has normal skin cause she doesn't oil up when she does not have make up. She also claims to not have dry skin. She was only one of the other 3 people I used the make up base on.

Here's what it says:

SO here's what I think of the product.

1. The make up base does reduce redness effectively. As we all know green concealers and make up bases are supposed reduce redness and this does just that. I've tried it with my mom and my sister and my aunt and the redness really reduced. However, for ripe red big pimples, use a concealers... as you've seen, it does not help much. :(

2. Foundations and loose powders last longer and give better coverage with the base on. Whenever I go without foundation and just put on the loose powder, the coverage never lasted longer than one class (which is about an hour). When I used the base and loose powder it lasted for at least half a day under the heat of summer. I was very impressed indeed. With the foundation, it lasted for the whole event, and it did not cake.

3. Delays the onset of oiliness. I always have this problem when applying make up, whenever I finish the whole thing and go downstairs, it takes only 15 minutes for me to start oiling up. However, with the base on, I waited for at least an hour without oiling up, and walked a couple of heat scorching distances and my face did not oil as much. My mom said it took at least 3 hours before her face got oily at the party.

4. It's light and has a silky finish. Compared to other make up bases I've tried, which are but a few, this does not feel sticky or heavy. It does not feel like it's choking up your pores. It feels quite light and natural. It also leaves your skin feeling silky smooth after.

5. I got it cheap. Got it for a discounted price of 199. I am not sure whether you'll be able to get it for that price as well.

What I like about it:
1. Packaging
2. Long lasting
3. The finish
4. Did everything it promised.

What I don't like:
1. The original price is a little too expensive for me.

So yeah... all in all, I really love this make up base. Would probably buy it again if I don't happen to find another one that's less expensive or that offers something better with the same price. :)

That's it for me for a while... will be heading to the airport in a couple of hours.

Canada here I come! :)

Cheers,
LIZ
