Celeteque DermoCosmetics Eyebrow Defining Kit

Hey dears!

Since most of us in the Philippines are familiar with the phrase "kilay is life," I think it is safe to say that many who likes to apply makeup agree that having well-groomed and defined brows is important to achieving a great makeup look.

I have struggled in finding the right products to achieve this. I find that my brows are a bit tricky to work with because they aren't even and the hair is thick. Even the thickness from the inner half to the outer part is too different. And so, I've tried brow products in different forms such as pencils, powders, gel, and mascara. Right now, I'm somehow content with what I use to achieve a decent brow and that is that there should always be a brow mascara at all times but I still need another one to fill some spaces. So I try out different kinds like pencils, etc.

Considering that I've experimented with products and use more than one for my brows, I formed this curiosity (or fixation...?) to try and try products from different brands in various forms. I guess it's a good thing for a blogger to have that so I can share my experiences to my readers.

Anyway, enough with my story and on today's main topic. It's about the...

Canmake Mix Eyebrow in Soft Brown

Hello dears!

Some may say that they have a hard time perfecting their eyeliner or blending their eyeshadows, but for me, I find doing my brows more difficult. It's not eyebrows in general, but my own brows because they are quite thick and the hair strands are very, very dark so making it look "natural" can be tricky, especially since there are uneven areas near the tail part.

I haven't found my "holy grail" when it comes to my brow makeup so I'm open to try out different products and brands. I already found some good ones but I still want to try more. So while I was browsing some makeup from Lunasol, we saw their brow powder palette which contains different shades. I thought it was cute and useful, but I don't think it's something that's for me during that time because I think my dark brows do not need the lighter shades. But a few weeks later, I was browsing makeup again at Landmark and saw Canmake's selection of brow palettes and I thought, "this is pretty affordable (compared to Lunasol's) so it wouldn't hurt if I buy one to try." So I did purchase one...

Canmake Mix Eyebrow

Bought this for PhP 490.00. The shade I bought is in Soft Brown because I think it's the shade closest to my current hair color.

To learn more about the product, check out the product info from the website:

You can use just this one item for everything from eyebrow make-up to nose-shadow!!!
Mix the three graduated shades to create a color as unique as you are.
Highlight your eye make-up and create natural shadows the way you want.
• You can mix the three light and dark shades of powder to adjust the shade and create one that is perfect for your own eyebrow color.
• The powder has a moist texture, so it clings to your skin, without dispersing.
You can create color in exactly the place you want it.
• The nose-shadow blends in well to your skin, highlighting your natural shadows, bringing out your features and emphasizing your eye make-up.
• Compact comes with a handy double-ended brush and applicator tip.

[01] Yellow Brown

A yellowish-brown that blends well
into your skin.
The perfect color for those with brightly colored hair. For a neat, cool impression.

[02] Natural Brown
A standard brown that can be used with all types of make-up.
The perfect color for those with natural hair color.
For a girlish, feminine impression.

[03] Soft Brown
An ash-brown that blends in well with your natural eyebrow color. The ideal color for those with darker hair color.
For the soft-looking eyebrows of
a natural beauty.

[04] Grayish Brown
A grayish brown that gives a soft finish, despite the darkness of the shade.
For those with black to dark brown hair.

The product comes in a transparent, hard plastic. I like the simplicity and the practicality of the design. It's travel-friendly and you easily get to see the shades of the palette.

It also contains a double-ended applicator that I rarely use because it's too small. The brush has very soft bristles though!

The reflective material that sort of act as a mirror doesn't really work as well, but that's not such a big deal for me.

This is the palette. As you can see, the shades are neutral colors. Each shade can be pretty useful as mentioned in the product info. The center shade is a good contour product for the nose and all three can be used as eyeshadow (especially to add definition and a deeper set pair of eyes). See photo below for swatches.

It's quite pigmented but not too strong to overpower the brows. I like the consistency because the finish isn't too bold but it still gives enough color to fill in the brows.

Below are photos of how the product performs on my difficult brows:

Bare brows

With only the darkest shade

This is how I normally use it. The darkest shade fills the gaps without looking too odd.

With the other shades + a brow mascara

This is how I wear all three shades if I apply brow mascara. Without it, the blackness of the hair strands do not go well with the lighter shades.

This product can stay the whole day on my brows without retouching, even on my oily skin! If you use it as contour product or eyeshadow, you might need to use a makeup primer first to extend it's lasting power.

I really think that this is a good product and I believe that it's something that I will recommend if anybody asks me what brow powder product to check out. Unfortunately, I think pencils or brow cream/liquid/gel type of brow products work better for my thick, dark brows.

Have you tried the Canmake Mix Eyebrow? Which shade? What brow product do you use?

Mini Review: BYS Brow Definition Kit 3

Hello ladies,

It hasn't been long since I've shifted my favorite brow tool from pencil to a palette, and this little kit from BYS has got me into thinking this might be my holy grail.

Sorry about the dirty product, I forgot to take a photo of it prior to testing it. So this brow kit has a black, a brown, a flesh color, and a wax to help the color stick better.

Here are some product information and instructions on how to use.

It has quite a high color pay-out, just one dab and it cover the whole of my eyebrow (well one eyebrow). It needs a little getting used to as it's easy to over do it. So when using it, I advise doing it one dab at a time until you're satisfied with the intensity. And if you're still not happy about the intensity or want it to look really strong and lasting, mix the wax in.

Here is a picture of my brows bare (above) and then with the product (below).

It's also very hard to erase and lasts the whole day long. Also, it doesn't stick onto other things when your face starts getting oily.

I really like this product and would definitely buy another one once it runs out but I think it will take a while before I'd need to buy a refill. Hopefully, they don't discontinue it.

Cheers,
LIZ

Review : Too Cool For School Eye Design Box Eye Makeup Multi Kit in #1 Black Kit

Hey loves!

Looking for more products that have multi-functions? Then you should check out this one from Too Cool For School...

Too Cool For School Eye Design Box Eye Makeup Multi Kit
This costs Php 785.00.

And since the labels are in Korean, I got the product info from the website so that we can get to know what the product is all about:

Ooooh! It comes in two variants!

So this product has a gel liner and two colors for the eyebrows. The ones with the black eyeliner have darker shades of brow makeup compared to the ones with the brown liner. Sometimes I also use the brow powder as eyeshadow, especially when I use neutral colors. They are good when you want to achieve the effect of deeper set of eyes.

The one I have is the #1 Black Kit.

It comes with a dual-end applicator. One side for the liner and the other for the brows. I can't find mine though so I wasn't able to take a pic of it. But the applicators are very helpful and the brush's bristles are good and doesn't easily shed.

Here are the brow makeup. One is brown and the other is a gray-brown shade. I've barely used them because I'm trying to finish one from a different brand first.

And here's the gel liner.
It's obvious that I use this a lot... almost everyday actually! It's my eyeliner when I go to work because it is long-wearing, from morning 'til late in the afternoon.

Here are the swatches on my hand

And when used on the brow and as an eyeliner

Let's talk about the brow makeup first.
I like that the pigmentation is not that strong so when applied on the brows, it looks natural. But it's a different story with my brows because the hair is very thick and dark. I have to make it darker just so it would look decent. But on another person's brow, it looks so much better.

As for the lasting power, it's pretty good. It's not waterproof but as long as you don't rub your brows, it will stay put the whole day.

And now, for the eyeliner.
I super love the blackness of this gel liner. With just one stroke, you get a very opaque black finish. The gel is creamy which makes application very easy because it glides smoothly.

It lasts the whole day. But there are instances when my lids become very oily, it transfers to the upper areas of my lids. So I suggest that you use a really good primer and use powder eyeshadows to extend its wear time. It doesn't easily smudge unless you have very oily lids or you frequently rub your eyes. So as I have mentioned, a good primer and good powder shadow will do the trick of extending the lasting power of the gel liner.

And that is my review of the Too Cool For School Eye Design Box Eye Makeup Multi Kit in #1 Black Kit. What do you think of this product?

Review : Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Eyebrow/Eyeshadow Quad—Beloved, Intense, Wish, Hush

Hey loves!

Looking for a multi-purpose eye makeup palette? Then let me suggest this palette from Ellana Mineral Cosmetics:

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Eyebrow/Eyeshadow Quad—Beloved, Intense, Wish, Hush

This very pretty palette palette, with illustrations by Soleil Ignacio, is very affordable at only Php 350.00.

Below are some info on the product from the website:

Brow and Eye Contour Palette: Soft yet well-defined eyebrows do wonders for
framing the face. Likewise, subtly contoured eyes can widen and lift the most
prominent features of our face.

How to Use:
Apply with a brush or sponge. Use sparingly.

Tips and Tricks:
pure high intensity mineral pigments that can be used as eyeshadows and eyeliners.

Ingredients:
Mica, C9-15 Fluoroalcohol Phosphates, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide,, Kaolin, Silicone Dioxide, Magnesium Steatrate, Allantoin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Copper CI 77400, Yellow CI 77492, Black CI 77499

As some of you may know, my favorite part of the makeup routine is my eye makeup. It's always a must for me to add color and definition around my eyes. I love doing bold, colorful looks but sometimes, I like to tone it down every now and then. I believe neutral eyeshadow shades are a must in every kikay girl's stash.

This particular product contains four neutral eye shadow shades that double as eyebrow powder. It's a very handy palette since it's multi-purpose, perfect for on-the-go people and for travel.

The colors are perfectly combined to suit many Filipinas. There is a shade that can be matched to your brows whether you have dark brown, black, or even blonde hair.

Swatches on my hand

From left to right: Beloved, Intense, Wish, and Hush

I use a combination of Beloved and Intense on my brows while I combine all four colors for my eye shadows. I also use the shade Hush to highlight my brow bone. So this product is indeed a very handy product.

Below are pictures on how I usually use the palette:

The soft, pigmented shades are very easy to blend together. They are matte except for the coppery shade Wish. The colors create a simple, very natural look together.

As for the staying power, with primer, it can last a good six to seven hours. On the brows, it stays all day.

What I LIKE:

- Soft and pigmented neutral shades
- Easy to blend
- Affordable
- Good staying power
- Multi-purpose
- Beautiful packaging

What I DON'T LIKE:

- None!

I definitely recommend this palette. It's easy to use and it does your brows and your eyeshadows. Multi-purpose and affordable! I take it with me most of the time, especially when I have to pack lightly when I travel.
