MAC Lipstick in Blueberry Fizz

Happy Halloween, everyone!

I don't think I've ever celebrated the occasion though. Here in the Philippines, our tradition during November 1st and 2nd is to visit our loved ones who have passed away. Very different to the trick-or-treating and the dressing up in scary costumes. In some areas, mostly in the cities, we do have halloween parties and such but I've never attended one. I'm just that boring. Haha! Anyway, I would have prepared a makeup look inspired from a scary character but I've been too busy. I didn't even had time to do an NOTD that's Jack O' Lantern-inspired. :(

So I'll just share a quick swatch post of a lipstick that I really don't think is something that can be worn in an everyday basis, but I'm sure it would be cool to use during the halloween parties...

MAC Lipstick in Blueberry Fizz

This is actually Liz's but she doesn't know when she'll be able to use it. She let me keep it because I'm the one who likes to experiment with makeup.

We've actually used this in one of our makeup experiments before. Click HERE to see it.

At first look it would look like a really dark blue lipstick.

But when you place it under the light, you'll see a beautiful and shimmery sheen of blue.

On my arm

But when swatched, it's actually sheer.

on my lips

I was actually disappointed with the results. I was hoping it would yield a very intense color. That would have been more useful to me for my makeup looks. I am not a fan of how this shade exposes every line and dry areas of my lips and the uneven distribution of the pigments.

Some wear this by just putting on a very light amount to just give a cool tone on the lips and you'll barely see the blue pigments. It just makes the lips a little purple. It looks nicer that way. I think.

Anyway, that's all for tonight. Hope you guys have fun on your halloween celebration! :D

Press Release: Shop for a Cause with Glamourbox Gives Back

Hey guys!

Glamourbox has teamed up with Eye of Horus to help our fellow Kababayans. It has been a year since the super typhoon Yolanda struck the country and until now, we're still recovering from it. The people who became victims of this typhoon still need as much help as possible and I'm happy to share with all of you that one of our favorite subscription boxes has teamed up with Eye of Horus and It-Ain't-Nothing (an Australian non-profit org) to support 50 Filipino Families and build 50 homes. Check out the press release below.

 Glamourbox Gives Back

It’s been a year since Typhoon Yolanda devastated the country. And while there are those who have managed to shake off the dust, pick up the pieces, and move on, there are still a number of people out there who are in dire need of our help.

Australia-based non-profit organization It Ain’t Nothing recognizes this, and has made it their mission to build 50 homes in typhoon-hit Malapascua Island, where many are still living in makeshift shelters as a means of getting by. Hence, It Ain’t Nothing’s goal is to raise $50,000 in continuing efforts to provide permanent homes for 50 families, with one house valued at $1,000 each. The good news is that as of October this year, 28 homes have already been built. But they are still halfway from hitting their target, and now, you can get your chance to help out and get involved.
Glamourbox believes that beauty is as beauty does, so it has partnered with one of its exclusive beauty brands, Eye of Horus Australia, to raise funds for this worthy endeavor. On November 7 - 8, 2014, both Glamourbox (www.glamourbox.ph) and Eye of Horus Australia (www.eyeofhorus.com.au) will be selling special Eye of Horus gift packs on their respective websites simultaneously, with proceeds going towards building homes in support of It Ain’t Nothing’s cause.

The gift packs are available for P2,000 each of which will contain Eye of Horus’ line of coveted beauty products: Goddess Mascara, Scarab Sapphire Goddess Pencil, Liquid Define Liner, and Sharpener, plus a free gift. These products are valued at over P3,000. And the best part about it is that you know your purchase is going towards putting a roof over a deserving family’s head—making you look and feel good, while you’re at it.

To boost fundraising efforts, Amy Lennane of Eye of Horus Australia will personally be flying in to the Philippines on the first week of November, she will be talking more about the great work that It Ain’t Nothing is doing as well as creating awareness for the cause. Together, Glamourbox and Eye of Horus are aiming to raise at least $4,000, all of which will go towards building four homes for those in need.

It’s time for Glambabes to get involved and show our countrymen that we haven’t forgotten about them! So mark your calendars and get ready to shop for a cause, the Glamourbox way.

Unboxing: Flawless Exclusive Saladbox Eternal Youth

Hey dolls!

My Saladbox arrived today and it's an exclusive edition! They tied-up with Flawless, a beauty brand that offers various products and services. I haven't tried any of their services yet and I think I've only used one of their soaps so I'm really curious of what the items would be.

When I held the box, I thought it was a bit heavy and bulky. My first thought—this must contain some full-sized skincare products!

And so, I sat down and immediately opened the box! I was just excited to see and couldn't wait for even another second. I'm just so curious because this is, in fact, their 2nd anniversary box and I guess I did miss doing some unboxing. It's been a while since I received or ordered a subscription box.

Tadaaaaa! 3 full-sized products! Woot!

So let's see what they are from the card this box comes with...

These products promise to keep your skin looking young. They have cell boosting properties to let us achieve that "eternal youth" most of us want.

And they are quite pricey compared to the Php 333.00 I used to pay for the box. You may think, "sulit!" Well, it is. That is until when you see the sticker on each product.
There are labels on the products that say we can only use them until the end of the month... because that's the date of expiration. Yikes! Is it just me or are they just trying to get rid of the old, unsold products? I mean, sure they could do that, that's smart marketing I guess, to give the older ones to subscription boxes so that people can try your products out that will lead to brand and product awareness and potential customers... but why now when there's only a month left? Ugh. :/

Anyway, here are the individual shots of each product:
Flawless Cell Booster Daily Cleanser
Php 700.00

Flawless Cell Booster Night Serum
Php 1,050.00

Flawless Stem Cell Day Cream
Php 750.00

Oh yikes. I'm acne-prone... Does that mean I can't use this? I'm currently using some facial scrubs, which I use twice a week... Hmmm... Maybe I'd still give these a shot, if I get major breakouts, then I'll just discontinue. :)

I also got a free facial and waxing trial voucher

And a Php 500 discount voucher which I can use when I avail products or services amounting to Php 2,000.00.

And there you have it! I have mixed feelings with this box since I would like to try this out but at the same time I am turned-off with the "you can only use this for a month" part. But since I will be using this everyday, maybe a month is all it takes to finish all three items.

So what do you think of the Flawless Exclusive Saladbox?
Have you tried this products from Flawless yet? Were they good?

Organix Moroccan Curling Perfection Defining Cream

Hey dears!

Do you have curly hair? I got my hair permed months ago and I absolutely love it! I like my hair curled because it frames my face nicely and it gives the illusion that my hair is thicker than it really is.

I've heard many people say that having permed hair is hard to maintain. I actually think the opposite. Once you get used to the routine, everything is so easy. Just find the right products to set your hair and throughout the day, you don't have to worry about your hair. It will just look awesome all day! I swear!

One of the products I can recommend is...

Organix Moroccan Curling Perfection Defining Cream
Bought this for Php 499.00.

This is a super awesome product for defining the curls of your hair. It makes your hair more tamed but still maintains the volume and softness of it. I actually prefer this over some of the hair mousses I've used because this doesn't harden your hair at all unlike when I use a mousse, if I wasn't able to distribute it evenly, usually when I'm in a hurry, some parts get hard and clumped together. With the Organix Moroccan Curling Perfection Defining Cream, my hair looks and feels soft and bouncy!

Here's how the product looks like.

I use it after I take a bath and after I towel dry my hair. I don't use a hair dryer anymore and let my hair dry naturally.

Here's my hair without any product (along with my colorful pambahay na daster LOL)
My hair looks very dull and dry.

And here's how it looks with the Organix Moroccan Curling Perfection Defining Cream.

It looks so much alive and defined!

It made my hair so much shinier too!

And it also smells really good! I can't really think of anything wrong with it. I just love it so much. I highly recommend you to try it out if you have curly or permed hair. :)

San San HD High Definition Concealer in Natural

Hey guys!

I'm currently obsessed with finding a GOOOD under eye concealer that is affordable. Most of the ones I've used are quite pricey so I wanted to try others from brands that are cheaper. One of the products I've discovered is from HBC...

San San HD High Definition Concealer in Natural
Php 105.00

Below are pictures of the labels from the packaging:

This comes in three shades: Natural, Beige, and Olive.

The packaging is really nice. I like the metallic, purple look. It looks very clean and it's easy to clean if you get some concealer on it.

I also like that it is twist-up because it makes it easy to dispense the product and I don't have to use my fingers to take the product out.

This is the brush applicator.

Love that it's super soft! No prickly feeling at all!

Here's the swatch on my hand.

The Natural shade is very, very light on me. I think the beige shade would suit my skin tone better. Unfortunately, they ran out of stock when I bought it so I just went with the Natural one because I really, really want to try it out. I just thought that I can top it off with powder that it closer to my skin color. :P

My bare eyes

Haha! My eyes are extra dark and puffy because of the sleepless nights I'm having recently. :P

With the product

It covered the dark circles. Too bad about that it's very light but that's no biggie! When I put my powder on top, here's how it looks:

See? It blended on my skin perfectly! Awesome, right?

What I like about this is the coverage and the staying power. And oh, it has SPF15 too! NICE! And I have never encountered any creasing even when my face starts to get oily. No caking as well! I really like this product. It works well and it's very affordable, what more can you ask for?

And that is all for now!
